The location is in the middle of Uruapan, a block from the main square. Uruapan is a very Mexican working town, without a lot of tourists. It is where avocados from the surrounding agricultural areas are processed and shipped out.
There is a wonderful mercado a 15-minute walk away. The hotel is quiet and has a lovely inner courtyard. There is also a little restaurant inside the hotel run by a woman who was raised in rural Michoacán, who serves excellent traditional food. There is parking a block away.
A ceiling fan would be nice. The room was not hot, but ventilation is always better. Night life in Uruapan is mostly out on the street and in the park. Not a lot of little cafés or places for a glass of wine at night.

Hotel is centrally located, very nice interior decor. The double rooms are cute but unfortunately do not have WINDOWS which is kind of dark and depressive. It was daid in the description that double rooms have PATIO but they don't. Hotel has a secure private parking 100 meters from hotel. Strong wi fi.
The towels were stained and full of holes. Really disliked this. Very loud starting from the morning. The staff starts walking along the hall, speaking, preparing their breakfast, you cannot sleep from 8.30 am. In the night time the other guests of hotel also make noise. There are chairs right in front of the double rooms, so till 2 in the morning we were listening to people talking and going around. The staff did not do anything to keep guests quiet, at least starting from 11 pm. We asked for some peace ourselves at 1 in the morning but still the people did not leave until 2 am. Nice hotel but very poorly trained staff and bad hygiene.

The hotel has a central location and private parking which is located 200 m from hotel. Very noisy and loud in the night time. The staff is unprepared and unprofessional.
We did not like the bath towels which had lots of holes in them. We also did not appreciate the fact that hotel sells their double room as if it has a PATIO, but there is no patio and even a window. So there is NO natural light in the room which is a kind of depressing. We had problems also with the reception of hotel. We paid all the due amount by our credit card, but the receptionist indicated in booking.com that our car was declined. We asked for explanations, and she said that she DID RECEIVE the payment and does not how to fix the fact that she tagged our credit card as declined. She was not available at all to contact Booking.com. No English at all, not even basic, so it was difficult to communicate. We had to call Booking.com ourselves. Three different operators from Booking.com contacted hotel and asked to indicate that our booking was paid, but the hotel still did not do this, though they acknowledged they took payment. I believe that the staff of hotel should LEARN how to take and manage reservations which come through Booking.com. REALLY DISAPPOINTED by wasting our time and nerves.

Good location
Images tell more than words
They gave us a room on the 2nd floor, so hot, the "hotel" doesn't have AC, and no fan. We asked for a change to a room at 1st floor, maybe not that hot. They refused with the argument that we already used the bathroom; maybe for the next night it was possible. Incredible!!. If you go on summer or winter it would be impossible to sleep without AC or heating
After 7pm, the room was mosquito infested, we couldn't sleep. I asked for an insecticide and They Had it!, maybe they know about the problem. Imagine spraying all the room, even the bed and then go to sleep on it.
For the 2nd night they changed our room, but we asked around 2pm because we were in a tour, and again they said "You should had ask before 12, before the cleaning". Our faces were so angry that they said, "OK, go for you stuff and don't use the bathroom, here's your key for a room on the 1st floor". And guess what, the room had not been cleaned! the dead mosquitoes still were there!
OK, the new room had no mosquitoes and it wasn't hot
Very little water pressure in the shower
Only 1 outlet located in the bathroom, so it was difficult to charge phones and tablet
Towel was torn, I don't need a new one, but a hole gives a bad image
Hard beds, awful pillows
And if it was not enough, they made an additional charge to my card for a reservation of one night for the same day, my reservation was for 2 nights, I never reserved for 1. I told them 2 days before my arrival about this charge, they only said, "No, no, my accountant says that we didn't make it". I sent a screenshot of my bank movements, and at the last day, after we left, they called me and said, "Oh, yes, there was a charge for 1 night, please give me an account number to deposit the money back". I think if I hadn't insisted they would have never returned my money

Nice, cool airy room, comfy bed, decent wifi, and in a good central location.
Hotel is set in a nice colonial style building with a courtyard.
Foul smell coming from the shower drain, though this seems to be quite common in parts of Mexico!

In the center of town, but the rooms in the back are surprisingly quiet. There was secure parking 2 blocks away. The shower had good hot water. There is a small room with a fridge and microwave that was available for use. There was also free aqua purificada. The staff was very kind. There were tables, chairs and hammocks in the public areas.
The beds were a little hard and they insisted on leaving the bright hallway lights on all night which made sleeping a little difficult.

It was great! I recomand 100%
The old building has a lot of charm with all the flowers and comfy chair outside. Rooms are nice too.
Also it is situated right next to the Main "plaza" and you can walk to the Parque National really close by.
The crew is very friendly and helpfull.

Everything. The staff is outstanding!
The pillos could be more comfortable, the hotel needs to install electric sockets mear the desks by the bed, but it fine, I would stay here again. If the fixed those things it would even more outstanding!

The space was really lovely. The decor was very beautiful. The room was very comfortable and the sheets were soft.
Shower took a while to get hot but that's a common thing in Mexico, not really a dislike.

This is a mid value motel that was clean, had a friendly staff, good A/C and delivered as you'd like a mid value hotel to. So temper expectations if you book here and you'll be fine. I enjoyed my stay.
Sounds echo. If I kept my window open I got the smell of gasoline that came from a repair shop next door.
