We had an enjoyable stay. Room was clean an service was good.
Breakfast was lovely,
The only downside was to shower which wasn't very good.
3.8
The staff were very friendly and even though very clearly run off their feet were cheerful and helpful.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
We booked two rooms, a twin and a double. The hotel itself is a very old building, some interesting architecture and features, however the communal areas - stairs and corridors are very tired.
The twin room was at the top of the hotel, it had a very small ensuite bathroom, in fact when sitting on the toilet the door is right against your knees. Unfortunately the sink was not clean and we had to clean away the signs of the previous inhabitants.
Out the back of the hotel is a covered area which seems to be where people go to smoke. The double room was accessed straight from the car park at ground level. The window had a great view of a fiat 500, and people walking round the car park were able to look straight in.
The room was clean and tidy but the bathroom had a very unpleasant 'sewer' smell that didn't change throughout our one night stay.

Breakfast was served hot. Bed was comfortable.
The room was over the outdoor smoking area, so it was noisy. Also it was not nice to walk into a room that reeked of toilet cleaner. A simple act of closing the bathroom door after cleaning it would have helped.

Didn’t have breakfast
Everything was perfect

Nice staff,town center,historical hotel,good pub.
3.8
Clean room, comfortable bed, decent breakfast
Poor water pressure in room. Kettle doesn’t fit under tap to fill up. Tv only gets BBC. Needs blackout curtains
3.8
Friendly staff. Great choice of bar drinks.

The location was ideal, within easy walking distance from the castle, river Wye and the station. Wonderful old buildings to see around the town and plenty of hilly walks to keep me fit.
My single room was a strange shape, (which meant the bed was at an angle) and had a slightly sloping floor. The window was filthy and, once opened, wouldn't close.

Car parking available, friendly staff, great size room, excellent value for money, lovely breakfast, big TV, big shower, lots of hot water, in the centre of town, 11am check out. I'd definitely come back.

Great Breakfast, plenty of choice and good value
Location of bedroom on ground floor by the car park. Noisy location when awoken at 2.30 in the morning by a group of drunks close to the room.
Ants in the bathroom and no doubt elewhere.

Our room was comfortable and we had a good sleep. Breakfast was delicious, and the location was central, not very far from the train station.
We were satisfied with our entire experience.
3.8
Breakfast was good.
We traveled quite a distance and when we got there in the afternoon we were advised they had run out of meat!!!! Not good for a hotel. The bedroom let us down. Very dated and old fashioned.

I got very ill and the staff were out of this world. Thank you one and all.

The staff were very nice and friendly. The location was central Chepstow, so good for the town and wider area.
Our Family room got changed from the booked to a set up of 3 Single beds, one of those beds the mattress was totally wrecked. Our room was also marked as the fire escape with a room key available outside our room in a fire box. The hotel section was just dated.
3.8
location was great, right downtown
the room we had, room 11, is on the ground floor. the people upstairs moved around a lot during the day and night - the floorboards creaked whenever they took a step and the noise was very loud and disruptive. Simone walked round a couple of times in the middle of the night which woke us, and early in the morning too

Dog friendly, staff very friendly and professional.
Very basic continental breakfast, cooked breakfast nothing special, only served pizzas throughout the day, the website said they had meals.

everything was good
flights of stairs to the second floor with luggage

Nothing to complain about.

Loved the location which was very close to the castle where we attended a local festival. The hotel has a lovely bar and outdoor area with welcoming friendly staff. Room was very spacious with plenty of storage and extremely clean. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. The full English breakfast was piping hot, tasty and cooked to perfection. Pity we had to rush off for a train and couldn't appreciate it more. On balance I thought the price was fantastic for our room and we would certainly stay here again. In fact we'll look forward to the next Castell Roc festival and try to book this hotel.
We were on the top floor which has several short flights of stairs to it which may not suit less able people.

We had a fantastic weekend. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Caroline before we arrived with various questions and Ricky and everyone else couldn't have done more to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms are just right, clean, good showers, comfy beds. Outside at the back is a great place to sit and chat with other guests and enjoy a cool drink. We are already talking about going back.

Very friendly staff, in central chepstow. Rooms comfortable and quiet
Parking was very limited and we had to park in pay and display behind the hotel. ( tbf, we were at a concert at the castle, so hotel was extremely busy)
3.8
Boring. For the price I was expecting more than just cerial to be provided.
Hot water took ages.
Breakfast to mean more than cornflakes
Warning about the stairs and no lift
Tourist leaflets/maps available

Great location, right in the middle of town plus has a small carpark at the back , friendly staff.
Clean room.
Not much.. its a old building so the floor broads do creak. doesn't bother us but it might some people.

it was old ,but lovely atmosphere.
They were not serving meals, not their fault,no chef, shame because we would of eaten there.
3.8
Nice big bath (shower over the bath) with very hot water.
The bar/lounge was cosy, with friendly staff.
The heating appeared to be on a timer. The room was cold on arrival (3pm), came on about 4. Not sure what time it went off. It was off in the morning, we had to leave at 7am, so it was cold getting up.
3.8
Nice breakfast. Friendly pub atmosphere. Really enjoyable.
Shower wasn't a power-shower! Had to run around to get wet🤣
3.8
Clean, friendly staff, superb location.
Room too hot, sounds of gurgling water during the night.
