At its price point, First Hurdle has all you would want. The location is great - right in the heart of town, but my room was out the back and perfectly quiet. As others have noted, a refurb is probably overdue, but the room was clean and tidy. The pizzas served downstairs are amazing. And the staff were superb; one went well beyond the call of duty to help me find a missing mobile phone, and they served me breakfast late because I could not get down early. So A+++ for pizzas and staff.

lovely staff , well positioned easy place

Breakfast was continental but not the best would prefer traditional fry up
Issue with payments which is disappointing but hopefully resolved soon

Location was great
The springs in the mattress had gone making bed uncomfortable. Sound insulation was poor. I know this can’t be helped but hearing people have sex and then a massive argument at midnight didn’t help with a restful sleep.

Location great..
Rotten windows glazing almost falling out, couldn’t have stayed in this room in winter months
Shower hose in bath- fair enough but No shower curtain 🤷♂️

Nice place with friendly staff comfortable good size rooms. Didn't get chance to try the restaurant for pizza but it smelt amazing.
Breakfast could have been better. It was OK but I have had much better.

It was noisy, dark and miserable
We paid the same price for a wonderful place near Tenby this was disgraceful

The location was fabulous, really pleased as it was close to all amenities and in relation to other reviews we would say that we didn't have any issues with road / pedestrian noise especially as we stayed on a busy weekend too. The room was pleasant apart from a few issues however we would say that the beds are very comfy we had an enjoyable sleep. Parking wasn't an issue as there were convenient car parks nearby to use.
Very disappointed with Breakfast in fact it was a bit of a shock in the morning as we were advised on arrival that there would be a Continental Breakfast however when we went down for breakfast it was only cereal, toast, some fruit and yoghurt which had to be prepared yourself suppose not a problem, along with Coffee no Tea was provided or available and fruit juice. Our impression of a Continental breakfast consists of various fruits, yoghurts, croissants, bagels, pastries, waffles and some also provide cold meats and cheeses etc not just cereal, toast, some fruit and yoghurt, also there wasn't much choice of toppings for toast only two options and only 2 varieties of bread, must say breakfast was poor.
In relation to the room this was ample for our needs however we would like to mention that our room had a damp patch on the ceiling whereby it looked like they had been a leak previously, there were marks and holes on one of the bottom sheets on the bed and as for the tea tray there wasn't enough variety of drinks sachets provided only two coffee / tea and four cartons of milk also the Coffee was off in fact it was solid inside the packets so were undrinkable. Also the kettle didn't boil correctly so you were only getting lukewarm drinks. If we were staying longer than one night we would have definitely brought these issues to their attention.

The hotel is central and close to amenities with a fabulous location (I had booked 6 rooms altogether). The staff were very helpful, and rooms were clean and tidy with coffee/tea options in your room, they were also very accommodating when I asked for an early check-in because our bus was picking us up earlier then 4pm
Breakfast was limited to full English, Also, a vegetarian option there was plenty of bread/toast, jams/marmalade & yoghurt, and fruit & nut options .. would like to see other options such as omlettes breakfast rolls but this is just a suggestion rather than a didn't like

You can hear noise really clearly from the corridors / other rooms / doors opening and closing.

It was available when most other properties were fully booked.
My room was on the ground floor, right beside a road, with late night revellers passing until we’ll after midnight. I even had a young girl standing outside my window, singing loudly, whilst waiting with her boyfriend for a taxi.
No air conditioning, so I had to have the window open.

The location was great being in the town and near the train station.
Thought the price of the room was expensive, no breakfast included.

the proximity to the town centre and a carpark was a bonus. The room (no.4) was clean and bright. and the bed comfortable. The Jill of all trades was most helpful and her cheerfulness brightened up a dull day,

Central location. Brilliant Pizza.
Earlier check in time.

The accommodation is in a good location
The room was very small, and very dirty with stains on the duvet and thick dust on the carpet. The bathroom was awful, with no shower screen so the water went everywhere on the floor. We chose not to eat breakfast after seeing the condition of the room, so didn’t want to trust the kitchen being any better. £100 a night was way overpriced.
2.0
Staff were somewhat helpful.
Small rooms, dated, worn or broken furnishings and old facilities with limescale. Check in time is so late (4pm) and parking is inconvenient.

Nothing. I couldn't have asked fir more
5.0
The location was excellent. As I was using public transport, it was good to be near the bus and train stations.
The room was comfortable.
The restaurant staff, who covered the guest house as well, were as helpful as they could be and were very friendly.
There was no hot water in the morning for 2 of my 4 days. I was told this was because the time switch on the heating hadn't been re-set when the clocks went forward. However, even the day after it had been corrected, there was still no hot water.
My room was not cleaned on the first 2 days. This meant the coffee was not re-stocked. I was given a good supply when I asked.
The room was adequately clean, but places like the bathroom window frames, skirting boards etc were not clean.
