mostly all good. Nice spacious and modern room. nice bar area and view. An added touch was the shuttle bus in the evening which made return trips into Salisbury for restaurants etc.
Had a problem with the heating in our room (it would only operate on cold not warm). A member reception staff tried to fix i but to no avail

Rooms and breakfast very good
Servicing of rooms particularly bathrooms and not sufficient shelves or drawers for clothes

Lovely quiet location, friendly and helpful staff, nice sized room (King, River view), decent breakfast
Very thin walls (you can hear everything going on in the next room and in the hallway); totally inadequate shower controls (going from boiling hot to freezing cold and back again); quality of room cleaning varied wildly from day to day (cups and glasses were never washed, mirrors and taps not wiped down, toiletries not replaced…)

Warm welcome and friendly staff. lovely location just outside Salisbury.
Minibus transfer in and out of Salisbury was also a very convenient extra.
The bed could have been bigger, given the size of the room.

The breakfast was good and location perfect for what we needed. Staff were all lovely no complaints for any of that.
The rooms though had much to be desired. Housekeeping was lacking, the room was full of cobwebs, and the carpet needed a good vacuum. We had booked a twin room and knew it was two singles from the last time we stayed, the last time we stayed I mentioned an issue with the bed as it felt like I was constantly falling off one side of the bed as it dipped on that side. The same issue happened this time in a completely different room. Would advise if your a solo traveller or planning to share a twin just each book a double room.

Sfeervol hotel. Geen gelegenheid voor diner, maar wel een gratis shuttlebusje naar het centrum van Salisbury.
Geen lift aanwezig.

The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of both hot and cold. What made our stay were the staff. So warm and friendly and no request was too much for them.
We didn't realise there wasn't a restaurant and we understand there was once. It might be nice to introduce some "light bites" that you could have with drinks.

No restaurant for dinner but a free shuttle bus into town.

I think a wider bed would fit the room where I have slept. It was maybe a 70 cm wide mattress.
I like heavy duvets, although that was very wide and hand down and weighed itself of off me.

- Appreciated the card and chocolate left in my room on arrival for my birthday.
- Staff were very friendly.
- Free shuttle service in the evening into the city.
- Bar area was very relaxed and inviting. Got a free drink token on arrival.
- Bed was very comfortable for my spinal condition. Didn’t wake up with any pain for once.
- Had a quieter room away from the main part of the hotel.
- Thought the decor suited the building and felt very calm and homely.
- Thought the breakfast was a little expensive.

The free Taxi did not pick me up on Tuesday evening. I called The Riverside twice, but nobody answered. I had to pay seven pounds for a Taxi to take me from the centre of Salisbury back to the hotel.

Good welcome at reception. Bags taken to the room. Free mini bus to and from the town in the evening. 2 free bar tokens. Stunning view of the cathedral from bedroom window. Friendly staff. Good quality bedroom furniture. Clean room.
Rather than a mixer tap on the bath for the shower, an independent one, took time to work out correct temperature.

Good staff and nice welcome, help with luggage to the room. Great location - about a 15 min attractive walk to the Cathedral and town. Room was spacious, bed was comfortably firm.
The bathroom had no storage or shelves, so there was nowhere to put our stuff. The shower head was not good, though there was plenty of hot water..

Nice bedroom with a good bathroom. Wifi good
Good view of the cathedral
The walk into Salisbury was a bit long (20 minutes) and not very interesting
Bus provided in the evening - drive waiting in reception to go when needed (and later on waiting in town to bring you back)

Beautiful room with an amazingly grand and comfy four poster bed. Lovely little seat overlooking the river. Lovely decor throughout. I would definitely stay again. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely walk into town although there is a shuttle bus, which I’d imagine would be very handy if you didn’t want to walk. Altho there isn’t a restaurant the hotel does provide a list of recommendations in the town (although only 2 that “probably” do vegan food… would be good to be sure and have options…sometimes I feel like the only vegan traveller !! )
The bathroom was very basic… looked like it was in a travel lodge! Not in keeping with the room at all. One morning when my partner came out of the shower the steam from the shower set the alarms off!
For nearly £200 I would have expected a bottle of wine in the room tbh and Bath robes. Instead there was a voucher for a drink at the bar ( not that I’m ungrateful for that ) … but it was for a “small” glass of wine… maybe let the guest choose the size?
Breakfast was lovely… my partner tucked into his straight away. I on the other hand had to wait for 20 minutes for my vegan sausages to arrive… now as a vegan I’m used to a bit of a wait.. but I had expected better as I had emailed ahead to say I was vegan and received a reply that this wasn’t a problem and when we checked in I was asked what time I would be down for breakfast so vegan Im option could be ready… but as I said the breakfast was tasty when eventually did have it.
Like I say would stay again… but will bring my own wine for the room.

Rooms were spotless, beds were very comfortable, the Christmas decorations were gorgeous around the hotel, the staff were all so friendly and helpful, the free drink voucher on arrival was great, the four of us had some pink prosecco which was lovely, we drank these with the gorgeous view of salisbury cathedral, the breakfast in the morning was lovely, we were not rushed to leave the breakfast room, thoroughly enjoyed our stay for our friends 50th birthday.
It was a lovely stay away.

Check in easy, friendly staff, room small but very clean. Complimentary drinks at the bar were a nice surprise.
Bit noisy at the front with cars and the mini bus crunching over gravel.
Shower over the bath didn't really work - you had to hold the shower head as no room to stand under it - design fault.

Very conveniently situated less than 30 mins walk from town (scenic cross country route option or walk along the road), with a really beautiful view from their back garden (stream, green fields, cathedral spire - get a river view room to wake up to green). A good quality cooked breakfast available - no skimping, and a well stocked bar with a terrasse to enjoy drinks on and a free pint to welcome us. Lots of free TV channels - we found some good films, and a good tea/coffee platter. Modern bathroom with a good bath shower and nice products.
They didn't accept cash, which is an important service missing. The staff seemed stressed or a bit rule bound or not really aware of the experience they were giving clients (loud staff meeting happening when we were trying to have breakfast, overly firm instructions, staff seemed stressed... didn't match the hotel's positioning). A small detail - the walls around the patio area were at a height where it blocked the view when I sat down. In their next renovation they may wish to change that so guests can fully appreciate the beautiful environment.

The staff were exceptional. The property was gorgeous. The location was perfect.
The bed was a little hard.

I booked a family room, the picture showed a separate area with a sofa bed but in fact the room was just a standard double room with a sofa bed in it. I thought £300 for this room at this hotel was on the expensive side.

Very nice location with a great view from the patio which we enjoyed
It is rated as five star on booking. Com site
Very surprised as no restaurant on site no room service no fridge in the room nothing about the service was five star !
Our back door on ground floor room had a broken lock which despite reporting to staff at front desk never got attended to
The patio was filthy with old cigarette stubs littering the floor

Considering breakfast was self service, it was very good. View from our bedroom was lovely, we were at the back of the hotel so nice river and cathedral view.
There is no provision for lunch or dinner but a shuttle service into Salisbury is provided which we took advantage of. Maybe a better selection of bar snack could be available.
My only real negative was how hot the bedroom was at night, even with the provided fan.
There was no top sheet on the bed, we had to remove the duvet but then you had nothing covering you.

The property has a nice bar and outdoor area. The building is clean and well maintained with capable staff.
The room was just too small.

Comfy bed and nice sized room . Well equipped room. Staff very helpful and friendly. Check in very easy and helped to my room rather than just sent- nice touch. Stayed at hotel in past under different ownership and this was much better from decor to service etc. Car park well laid out
Only lacked a sign to reception. Location of reception was not obvious on entering.
