For a business trip to Barnsley I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Great location but reservations on staying again

Location was convenient.

Worst room in the hotel. Looking over the back of hotel at the bins and noisy air conditioning units. We’ve stayed here many times but will consider other hotels in future. Also, Aggressive guest late evening made it an unpleasant stay

Enjoyable

Enjoyable stay..

Fresh juice for breakfast was terrible and one of the days the machine wasn't working. Could have done with glasses in the bedroom for water.

Clean convenient basic hotel

Friendly helpful staff . Good location . Great breakfast and good value for money . Laid back and relaxed atmosphere

Great location, staff and owners very helpful at a very busy time

Rooms very clean and tidy. Well done to the cleaning staff

Due to the very hot weather during our stay it was impossible to sleep. We could only open the window about 6" due to a security device fitted, to receive what fresh air we could. The reception and dining area had air conditioning, the rooms have NONE. The outside seating area near to the main entrance, this could do with a little more house keeping to keep the area tidy. Not a very good thing to see on entering the main entrance, empty glasses, rubbish on the floor and full ashtrays. Over our two day stay we had to have our door key cards reprogrammed twice. Not very handy when on the third floor and trying to get into our room.

Telling us they overcbooked and we would need to have twin rooms rather than the queen rooms that were originally booked. Only to find out they hadn't overbooked they just hadn't cleaned enough rooms !! No talk of when breakfast was on arrival and receptionist was rude. No staff on bar, so we ended up leaving with no drinks. Breakfast was shocking, dry beans ,orange juice machine ran out ,vegetarian sausages took 20 minutes to cook and turned up after we had eaten the rest of our breakfast ,lady said should have told reception on arrival, I said I did I clearly said we are vegan do you have anything for us to eat ??

Hotel fine car parking rip off

Room was fine

Got a £60 car parking fine, no signage saying it was a paid car park i assumed hotel guests got free parking, man at reception didnt mention it, if you would like to refund me the £60 i may consider staying again

Very basic accommodation

Level of cleanliness was good. So hats off to housekeeping.

Very plastic room (easier to clean?): plastic flooring (no rugs), plastic headboard... Locks removed from inside the room and "security" chain was so long I could get my whole arm and shoulder around the door even with chain on (!) so easy to open from outside. Thus, especially as a solo female traveller, I did not feel very safe. Not sure who thought it was a good idea to paint giant purple and turquoise wine bottles as a mural on the walls instead of hanging paintings. Tiny TV. Lacked the feel of average comfort I have come to expect in such places - felt more geared up to accommodate Home Office group bookings.
