Breakfast was superb, as was staff. Welcoming, lively pub. Dinner menu interesting and varied. Just a short walk to many of the tourist attractions. Quiet room. However, be prepared for stairs to the rooms.
No complaints.

Great location, amazing breakfast, fantastic pub
There’s no indication on Booking.com that the bedrooms are in a building outside the pub, and that has 2 floors. If this information was on the site, I would not have stayed because it is difficult for me to use stairs.
My bedroom was on the 2nd floor, my bed was not right and the floor was creaking, so it was very annoying.
But the staff was absolutely brilliant and moved me to another room that was lovely.

Welcoming, smiley and helpful staff. Good service. Great breakfasts and delicious dinners.
I found the stairs to La Boite challenging, but in fairness I had been warned about them and I managed.

The staff were excellent. We were welcomed with open arms and treated like Royalty throughout our stay. Food was excellent, and the beer divine!
Not a thing!

Immaculately turned out, old school English pub with accommodation opposite.
Car parking was very tight, but clearly due to the surroundings, there isn’t anything which can be done to change that.

Way over priced for one nights stay

Hotel staff, food, cleanliness excellent. Room was good, but a shame that they did not give us 2 rooms nearby. One was across the road in separate accommodation. Lounge, bar area very welcoming. Pity there was no garden/outside space.
Cost a little high, especially evening meal, so we didn't eat there the second day.

The pub and the hotel rooms were lovely.
Situated in charming period back streets.
The staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble.
Nothing.

Very tasty and plentiful.
Needed more hangers and shelf space in bathroom.

The dinner I bought was outstanding. I had a Pork loin roast dinner and it was the absolute best roast dinner I have ever had. I plan to go back to the hotel and have a roast dinner - I live in Kent but the journey wouldn't matter given the quality of the food.

The food was excellent. We had dinner at the pub; the atmosphere was good and the food delicious. There were plenty of non-meat options as well as meat on the menu. The location was lovely, a beautiful and quiet area just around the corner from the Cathedral.
The stairs up to the room were steep and narrow, but were because of the age and conservation area. Whilst we might prefer another room, it will not put us off coming.

A FANTASTIC location. Our room was beautiful and our bed was extremely comfy. The staff were incredibly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious. Just a perfect place to stay!
Nothing! It was GREAT!

Excellent location, friendly attentive staff, great facilities in the room, tasty breakfast, very clean.
bed was uncomfortable needs a new mattress, plug didn’t work properly in the bath, hot water went off and the phone did not work to call reception, also the four poster bed has a sharp edge which i bruised my leg on going to
the toilet.

Excellent with the exception of no marmalade.

The property is quirky, cosy, traditional but with all the comfort you might need.
Excellent breakfast too.

lovely staff, food, everything was perfect
I liked everything!

The room was lovely and the staff were really kind. My car was playing up and the manager sorted out the problem for me which was great.
I would have liked at least a couple more breakfast teabags in my room. I had one. And there was no milk on the table or in the fridge.
I would rather have had my dinner near other diners in the bar rather than being segregated as a singleton in a side room!
5.0
Brilliant location. Good service and very friendly and professional staff. The free on-site carpark was a real bonus. The pub is lovely, very cosy and traditional with lots of history and on first impressions the room was lovely too. The breakfast was also very nice.
Immediately on check-in we were informed there was an extra charge of £15 for our dog. Which surprised me as I had not seen mention of this on the Booking.com website (rather than putting charges 'may apply' I think additional charges like this should be clearly stated at the time of booking). We were shown to our room, which was lovely, however it became clear later that evening that it wasn't as lovely as we had initially thought. The room was really hot, despite having the radiators off and the window wide open. The bed was also dreadful. Really, really uncomfortable and creaked very loudly every time you moved. In addition to this, our room was the first one by the stairs meaning everyone passed it on the way to their rooms, so it was quite noisy. As a result our dog couldn't settle and constantly growled at the people walking by. This is something the hotel should take into account when allocating rooms so that travelers with dogs are put in quiet rooms away from the main areas. Luckily our dog isn't a barker, so she wouldn't have disturbed other guests, just us! All in all a very uncomfortable and sleepless night, which cost £174 for B&B - not good value!!

Great location, amazing food and fantastic service.

Personal touches: beer, chocolate.
Breakfast - the variety and their willingness to accommodate you - was absolutely excellent.
Huge construction was going on. Told only weeks before. There was no refund offered, only a tiny reduction in price, but it was VERY noisy, most of the time and nowhere to eat dinner close by.
Most of the TV channels didn't work.

Situated nicely close to relatives
Lack of parking when arrived. A few smiles would have been nice from staff. Having to ask for juice at breakfast. Dusty lamp base. Cup/saucer/spoon
used in room left dirty when asked fir room make up.

a little on the expensive side
