Staff really friendly. We had breakfast in our room and it was lovely. The pool
Is lovely and warm and very clean. The tea and coffee in the room were really good quality. Overall great stay.
Unfortunately the only bad thing was that the bed was really creeky and woke us whenever we moved and the plumbing was so noisy!

The staff were absolutely lovely, so accommodating and always greeted us with a smile and pleasantries. The restaurant was clean, the food was good and there was a selection of gluten free options available which was great. Great location, close to town with lots of pubs and restaurants within walking distance.

Friendly staff, good menu, pool was nice, towels to borrow at pool. The skirt steak was absolutely amazing and wine list very good.
The sauna was out of action and there are no loungers by the pool so my afternoon of swim and relax and read didn't happen.

restaurant was excellent, staff friendly, great location
took ages to check out, no one on reception for 10-15 mins at around 10am which is the main check out time

Loved the welcoming and friendly staff who were always happy to help. Water pressure was excellent in shower and temporature good.
Location was good.
Room was very dark and areas could have been cleaned that regularly got missed around the bath, skirting boards. Looked like the extraction fan had stopped working aong time ago as picture frames and sink cupboard the wood had swollen with damp from shower.

Comfortable and quiet room (even though there was a wedding on). Great swimming pool and a short stroll into town - and a nice pub opposite.

Hapoy friendly staff.
Shower pressure poor
Would like plug socket each side of bed in ideal world

I will start by saying that we were not there under the best of circumstance. My wife had a couple of urgent hospital appointments at short notice, one in Portsmouth on the Friday morning, the next in Southampton on the Sunday afternoon, so rather than keep commuting back to the Isle of WIght we decided to spend a couple of nights in New Forest which we booked during half term week on the Thursday night - so very limited everywhere.
Our needs, therefore were different to most peoples. Our initial room was the last of the doubles, it was comfortable, perhaps a little dark and overlooked the roof of the kitchen so not the best outlook and there was an obvious droning sound. For most people that wouldn't be a real issue (you don't go to the New Forest to sit in your hotel room) but my wife had had a fairly traumatic day and was shattered and needed rest so it was an issue for her.
I went to reception and spoke to a lovely lady who came immediately to investigate the issue and said the sound was from the kitchen fan and the kitchen closed at 8:30. When she saw how distressed my wife was, she went to check if there were other rooms available (I told her I was happy to upgrade if necessary) and found a much nicer room with a 4 poster bed overlooking the central court area. When I went to settle the difference in price on checkout day, she told me 'It's OK' ... we cannot thank her and the hotel enough for their kindness and understanding.
Our circumstances aside, the hotel is lovely. It is clean, welcoming and all the staff were were friendly and helpful. The food was good and service was excellent. It has an indoor pool, is family friendly and dog friendly (we will go back with ours at some stage) and has a welcoming atmosphere.
It is only 5 minutes walk from the town centre, has good parking and an EV charger (a rarity in the New Forest apparently).
I can't say there is anything in particular. Like most hospitality venues emerging from the pandemic into the energy crisis, times are hard, and there will be a long list of 'to do' jobs like a lick of paint or freshening up in places, and a colourful picture on the wall in our first room would have brightened it up considerably. But everywhere was sound, clean and comfortable, and that is the most important part.

Location and hotel are both nice.
The breakfast was a very small portion for it's price, but the continental buffet was a good substitute.
Hotel staff are very friendly.
On arrival our room didn't have any hot water and we were told we could use a neighbouring room's shower.
When I went into the neighbouring room someone's belongings were in there.
This was rectified, but having to go up and down the corridor with a towel and toiletries when I'd paid quite a lot of money for an en suite room is not acceptable to me.
We also had to be out if the room the following day to allow plumbers to fix the issue.
We were given a complimentary drink at the bar for the inconvenience.

Close location to high street, easy to find, free parking
Hotel and room was absolutely boiling. Pipes in room making noises all night so kept us up. Bath wasn’t very clean, no lights above mirror in bedroom or bathroom? Not good for trying to do your makeup

Great location for exploring the local area. Nice hotel and room was a good size.
Shame the pool wasn't warmer and the sauna was out of order.

location
the poor condition of the bathroom and problems with no hot water

beautiful building with very attentive staff.
£15 per dog per night is way too much, it should be per stay.
was looking at a 3 night break in March but it would be an extra £90 just for my two dogs!

The area is stunning, and the staff were brilliant
The paint was flaking of the bathroom walls, and the hot water was not working at the bathroom sink
