Good location , comfy bed, good shower , nice staff
No parking but public car park nearby so it was fine
Room was small but I knew that when I booked and it was still good value
4.5
gorgeous property in heart of Stow on the Wold. Room was beautiful, as was the breakfast and the staff were very helpful
window catch in room was broken so couldn’t fix open and blind was broken too.
3.5
Beautiful building with lots of character
Tiny bedroom - too small. Couldn’t stay more than 1 night.

Beautiful location, beautiful Inn, tastefully decorated, clean, historical, well located with easy access to coffees and restaurants, nice friendly staff. I would stay there again despite some issues (detailed below).
Not noise insulated at all. Other guests slammed their doors non stop all night and early morning (on the cosy rooms side) - maybe doors could have a more silent mechanism or some sort of padding - the gap under the room door didn't help, and we could hear full conversations and radio playing in other rooms as if it was in ours.
No double glazing also makes it very noisy, at the front and back. We stayed a few nights, didn't sleep well at all.
Food was a bit disappointing compared to other pubs and inns in town.
3.5
Great location for the Cotswolds - and in the middle of Stow-on-the-Wold, which we found to be a beautiful town.
Clean, safe and vibrant.
Amazing history of the building - room was lovely - bed was very comfortable - bathroom clean and easy to use.
Staff need a little more training on customer service - we were made to feel a hinderance.
Lack of staff for bar service - one person serving restaurant AND bar area - not great when busy.
Most worrying thing - fire alarm went off and smoke was smelt in the building - NO STAFF anywhere to be seen - all customers basically left to fend for themselves - thank goodness there was not real fire because how we they have known who had escaped and who hadn't - very very worrying.

Great Location. Staying in a Circa 947 inn was amaazng.
Staff a little curt and impatient at Restaurant and bar. Room small but adequate and quirky. Definitely not recommended for tall people!!

Location, staff, cleanliness and decor were excellent. We ate in he restaurant twice and on both occasions the food and service was wonderful.
Only a very minor criticism, the breakfast menu could have been more varied, there was no cereal or continental option. That said, the full English was excellent.

Overall a good hotel in an excellent location. The room is small and spacious a perfect B&B for the night or the weekend.
The restaurant was a disappointment, we went for dinner and was sat and only to find out most of the menu was sold out with limited options. Definetly would find other places to eat, the hotel itself is a perfect place to spend the night. The Pub was booked for an event and we were unable to visit.

Location and decor
Checkin desk was not obvious

staff was nice and tired their best to accommodate us l. The restaurant if you’re lucky enough to get a reservation is good - but be sure to reserve breakfast and dinner or you’ll have to wander to find food.
carpet was full of stains - pretty sure from dog fouling. toilet seat was not on correctly so I kept falling in the loo. sheets were not clean in bed. room as expected was quite small but also very rough around the edges- it’s a very old building but there was a lot of water damage and mould in the room . wasn’t what we were expecting given the other reviews.

Good location. nice features. comfy bed.
No reception as hotel is run off a skeletal staff. bar shut at 10pm on a Friday night! Despite it being -3 outside no fires on in the bar when we returned, and we were told to sit near a radiator. The room looked nice but on closer inspection there was quite a lot of black mould in the shower. there was also a large tear in a chaise long. Dogs are also allowed in the hotel so it’s full of dogs literally running around at times. I’m allergic to dogs unfortunately- so that wasn’t great for me personally.

Beautiful old building in good location. Friendly and helpful staff.
4.0
very cute and a great location
rooms 11 and 10 suffer very badly from noise outside the corridor and from rooms upstairs. it’s a very old building so I understand why

The staff was exceptionally friendly and engaging. The Inn, oldest in England, has a wonderful ambiance and charm. And the meals were quite tasty!

Absolutely beautiful, comfortable and delicious food

It’s in the centre of Stow on the Wold, and the breakfast was delicious
Room was very small, cold and very dusty, not luxurious as described

We don’t normally book a suite, but the only room available was the suite, so we decided to reserve it. It turned out to be exceptional and we were amazed at the value of the rooms for the price! We had such a great experience! Staff were helpful also. The historic, beamed architecture was beautiful.
I don’t recall, but I think the breakfast wasn’t included?

Historic hotel built in 947 AD, nicely renovated. Comfortable beds with fluffy duvets and plush feather pillows. Excellent location in Stow on the Wold. Very friendly staff.
Restaurant is mediocre. Fried fish smell came up from restaurant below our room at night.
4.5
The room was beautiful, very spacious and nicely done as well as very clean. Bed was really comfortable and the pub itself is gorgeous and very cosy. Perfect for an autumn or winter stay! Will definitely be back :)
