Nice hotel in quiet and beautiful place. The staff was very polite and helpful. The room was bright and clean. The bed is very comfortable. There is USB-charges in the room. The English breakfast was very good and tasty. During breakfast you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Menai Strait.

great location, nice views. nice character to the building with restaurant onsite and benches outside.
very inaccessible. my mother struggles with stairs and there is no place you can get to without having to climb them here - at best you will need to climb a few steps. but when you enter you will look at the signs and think you have to climb two flights of stairs to check in, and I know my parents would have been confused had I not been there.
the place was generally okay although my parents room was on the second floor when I had asked for a more accessible room closer to the entrance. they also had a bath rather than a shower. I guess it was a last minute booking so not much could be done but no acknowledgement of my requests were made at the front desk. the room could have been cleaner as there were loads of spider webs on the windows.
the room I booked was a single room on the bottom floor and there was a bright light above the door (probably a internet router or something) that made it really difficult to sleep. the light was so bright i could see my surroundings even at 3am. someone had clearly seen this issue and attempted to fix it by sticking a plaster (no joke) on the light but this was peeling off and the light still came through.
when we came down to eat dinner after checking in we were told that there was a party upstairs and the chefs were too busy. that we wouldn’t be able to get a table even though the restaurant closes one hour later. after challenging, the staff went back to the chef and they agreed to serve us provided we ordered quickly but to be honest it had ruined my meal. to make things worse another gentleman had arrived 10-15 minutes later and got a seat and dinner.
what’s most disappointing is that upon telling the reception all of these issues the morning after during the checkout the gentleman responded with “I’m sorry” and took zero responsibility for the problems caused, even defending the initial decision made by the chefs. there was no intention to look into these issues and actually resolve them going forward.

location was very convenient for a university visit, room was clean.
rooms feel as though they are randomly placed along confusing corridors and up and down stairs all over. Everyone was continually lost and signs were of no help at all.
the room was very shabby and tired, and felt like late 80s student accommodation. The bed was very hard, pillow very flat and bed very uncomfortable.
Breakfast was served from trays down the side of reception and was dry and unpleasant. Eating in reception was unpleasant in itself with lost people walking through constantly. We ate elsewhere the following day despite it being included in our rate.
on checking out we were asked if we enjoyed our stay and we gave this feedback, response was ‘fair comments, we are refurbishing some of the rooms’ so perhaps once they’re done it will be better, but for now I would not recommend.

good distance to the city centre, and easy to find.
the breakfast finished at 9 on weekdays, would prefer it to be slightly later maybe 9:30/10 so that if you have a layin you can still get the breakfast that is included in the price of the room.

Good location, parking and facilities.
Nothing - all good.
