Disappointing on this occasion, despite having stayed here before very successfully.

Location for visiting family

I specifically booked a ground floor room due to my mobility issues, but we were given a room on the first floor with a bath/shower that was so difficult to get in and out of I gave up in the end before I broke something! We invited family to join us in the evening for a meal in The Twisted Boot, but the entire evening was spoiled by children running through the bar all evening despite us asking them to stop. Eventually the staff stepped in but it ruined our evening.

Disappointing considering the kerb appeal of the place.

The showers were nice and hot which did not run out. The room was large, spacious and clean.the breakfast was tasty and the breakfast staff were friendly.

The walls were paper thin, so much so we could hear the door creaking in the next room. The sound of the couple talking woke my partner up. The complementary Wi-Fi did not work and the location is in a mobile slow spot. The rooms had been decorated recently but very poorly in that the wall paint was visible on the ceiling were the painter had been rushing. The reception staff just did not care and it seemed we were interrupting them by checking in.

Great place to stay, ideally placed.

Excellent cooked breakfast which was cooked to order. Great evening meal.

Comfortable stay with good food in a favourite hotel when in this area.

Meals, both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Bed was comfortable. Location is good with plenty of parking spaces. Used this hotel many times and will do so again.

Not had this issue here before but the shower in the particular room we had this time was pretty poor in terms of water volume and the temp was hard to control either being boiling or freezing.

Easy to reach as it was next to a larger road. Room had a high ceiling, which gave the room a nice large perception.

The room was a bit worn, view outside wasn't good and the bathroom was cold. no single tap, but cold/hot separated, which personally I don't like.

Stunning Elizabethan Room with amazing Bathroom

Amazing bedroom in the Elizabethan part of the house with Oak Beams built in large wardrobe with full length mirror Stunning bathroom huge with three mirrors good size shower. The breakfast was a feast every sort of breakfast food was available delicious fresh fruit salad divine croissants and cooked breakfast

Was a lovely location for where we wanted to be.

location was lovely. Rather busy as had a wedding. I had booked 2 rooms and we were other ends of the hotel. was not very impressed by that. and was told that as they were full she could do nothing. Not very helpful. clearly wedding booking had priority. Breakfasts was lovely and so were all the morning restaurant team. Lots of parking.

I am just glad the weather was good as would have got very wet trooping across the car park to breakfast.!

Great location. Fabulous service.

Attention of the staff. They always manage to give us the room we request. It created an issue due to the boiler for the hot water not firing but a solution was found and all the staff were great.

No complaints over anything. We have previously mentioned room 53 would have room for a sofa but do understand all the rooms are similarly furnished.

Good location, lively surroundings. clean rooms and great drinking facilities in the room. The food we had in the evening was very good but the menu was slightly limited for choice

wifi was poor - guest should been able to connect to secured internet - so did not use the hotel wifi because of this.

Enjoyed our stay but felt we paid too much for it.

Room was spacious, comfortable and nice view from window. Plenty of room to park. Very quiet. Staff very helpful. Breakfast and dinner good.

We paid far more for our room than the price that was available nearer our arrival date. Dinner prices were too high and there was insufficient choice. We dined on two occasions when we were the only people in the restaurant so quite eerie - a bit like Hotel California! Long trek to our room easy to get lost!

Passable

The bathroom was in a bad state, The wash basin was cracked, The shower head was clogged up, the riser was loose with parts missing. There was black mould around the shower door frame and elsewhere.

mistake never again not as looked on website and overpriced for a run down motel

location and look on website bed was comfy

bath water was brown cold tap in sink was hot very musty smell run down room dirty taps walls where luggage holder was was all dirty scratched chunks out the wall, noisy awful that was locked at 11.00 had to clamber about find our way through side gate in mud in my nice shoes to get to the chalets outside. and I thought it advertised a gym staff seemed disinterested didn’t even ask if we enjoyed stay how was everything. was very pricey £89 for nothing we stay in lots of hotels this was poor.

no tv,replacement room carpet dirty, very small no way worth what we were charged for our stay.Basic evening meal only if they had it. One of the meals on the menu was LAMB STEW. sort of meal you would get at cafe??? not a hotel? (i have a copy of the menu)very unhappy about this that is why 3we only stayed 1 night not 2. Rebate expected? The hotel could have informed us of the problems they had before we arrived then we could have cancelled.

Glad it was just one night.

We had booked our room a long time before and was told Because I was disabled I would have a ground floor room Near the dining area. We were given one a long way from Reception my husband had to go back home and fetch My Walker I complained and they moved us but it ruined my husbands birthday.

I wouldn’t stop there again.

a little gem of a hotel in all respects

only one key for the building entrance yet there were 3 of us so it was difficult to work around the key

was here for a funeral. made to feel very comfortable from the wake, the meal, the room. Exceptional staff team.

staff are brilliant. property is comfortable

finishing breakfast by 9. ok for workers but we was not in a rush so breakfast and check out was a little early. would be good if breakfast was up to 10 and checkout at 11.

Good food, comfortable conditions and a nice place to stay. Good location.

Saturday night table waiting staff not up to a reasonable standard. Looked like temporary untrained staff brought in to handle excess customers caused by a function in another part of the hotel.
