Super good location. Interesting setup with rooms located in many individual houses. Nice staff and restaurant
More difficult for senior people to reach out the main building. So we drove there
4.2
Endroit idéal en pleine nature.
Petit déjeuner extraordinaire
4.2
חדרים יפים , נקיים וגדולים.
הצוות מסביר פנים וארוחת הבוקר מצוינת
4.2
Breakfast good, quick and easy check in.
Deluxe room very expensive-didn’t feel there would have been much different from a regular room, didn’t like sharing quarters.
4.2
Great location and wonderful restaurant.
Rooms were very spartan for a 5 star hotel and there were a number of issues with our room (broken lamps). One of the two hot tubs in our building was not working. And they didn't tell us at check-in that we would only receive cleaning service if we placed the "Please make up room" sign on our door.
4.2
Remote location, but close to attractions.
Spacious 2 bedroom apartment, soft pillow!!!
Floor heating.
High variety of hot and cold food and drinks for breakfast.
Noisy refrigerator and no proper sound insulation from neighboring apartment.
Adding new towels every day and pilling it up, while we obviously not needed more.
Odd location for the hot tub outside of the apartment. Quality of coffee for breakfast was poor, no taste.
4.2
It was a great hotel. Enjoyed our stay.
Staff was very helpful. Facility and rooms were clean. Restaurant was great food was delicious.
Room size. Rooms were small for the price we paid.
4.2
Good location in the golden circle. The hot tubs in the evening were therapeutic and thoroughly enjoyable. The front desk staff and Restaurant staff were friendly and inviting. Scenic views. Lovely property.
The room was too small. The breakfast was exactly the same - for a five star hotel, not having an a la carte breakfast was unexpected.
4.2
Good proximity to the Pingvelir park. Hot tubs full and heat quickly. Restaurant is convenient. Staff are incredibly kind and service oriented. Blackout curtains, robes and slippers were nice
We stayed in a 4br apartment. The decor did not feel “5 star” in quality or design. Bedrooms are very uneven in size — one basically just room for a twin bed — and none have en suite bathrooms. Lots of little details were missing. TV did not work well with internet and satellite so couldn’t watch movies. Bathrooms provided soap but did not have soap dishes. The full kitchen lacked some basics. Generally it was just off for a place promoting itself as a higher end destination.
4.2
Beautiful setup in cottage style. We had a junior suite for us and a deluxe room for the kids. Both were great. Particularly junior suite was very spacious with a beautiful bath with open shower. The atmosphere around is utterly beautiful. Private hot tubs right outside.
While the team strives for best service you feel that many are not long time trained in the bussiness but rather enjoy seasonal work as students etc. More could be expected from 5 star property with prices close to LHW hotels. But overall sleep had a wonderful time and we’re well served.
4.2
The cleanness
Food was terrible! Specially for 5 stars and no room service, the waitresses are not helpful or want to provide service - is more like a 2 stars in service and food.
4.2
Great location and concept - the rooms are in separate bungalows. It is surrounded by greenery and near a river, so waking up and hearing wild birds was an additional treat. The staff was very friendly and professional. Breakfast was tasty with variety of options. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant as well and it was excellent.
The fact that smoking is allowed on balconies which are connected between rooms.
4.2
Great service and facilities.
4.2
great staff, lovely apartments, hot tub was fantastic and great breakfast.
pretty pricey
4.2
The two hot tubs outside, mega warm.
Super calm and relaxing.
Really cozy rooms in small "cottages". You feel home.
Very well located.
Maybe add a gym. But well...you can also go for a hike or a run outside))
4.2
it’s setting, the staff, the accommodation and the general feel of the place
4.2
good location and kind staffs.
the restaurant is soooo good.
nothing.
4.2
we stayed in a superior room. it was nicely decorated and a very comfortable room. the rooms are in separate cottages - 8 rooms per cottage. Each cottage has use of two hot tubs and has a small lounge area. I would recommend the room.
we stayed over Christmas and there was a set menu which was the same both nights we stayed. the food was ok but not brilliant and it would have been nice if the menu had changed.
4.2
Staff were all pleasant and accommodating. The location was convenient to many points of interest.
The property markets itself as 5 star luxury, but it fails to deliver at all levels save the staff, who were uniformly well trained and attentive.
Facilities are adequate but not at all top tier (ikea-level furniture at best... functional but far from nice; vinyl shower curtain that sticks to you while bathing, etc). Private hot tubs in the cabins were only private in the sense that they are not shared, but they are otherwise fairly exposed to all passers-by (because for some inexplicable reason, Grimsborgir decided to put up full-on street lights instead of footpath lighting throughout the compound, which is at least is a consistent choice, since the whole place is over-lighted, ruining what could otherwise be a beautiful dark sky experience.)
In my estimation, this inoffensively pleasant if not exceptional property does itself a disservice with a marketing campaign that over promises and under delivers, especially in comparison to other Iceland properties at similar prices/location premiums (Foss Glacier Lagoon, Sand Hotel).
4.2
Clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast had lots of varieties of delicious food and we enjoyed it.
4.2
Nice place, nice staff. Really appriciated.
4.2
staff and rooms
nothing
4.2
Fantastic facilities and the perfect place to catch the northern lights. Great buffet breakfast with the added bonus of an omelette chef.
The outside (hot tub, summer house etc) had lots of dead flies and spiders in it so could have done with a little more TLC. A washer / dryer would be beneficial, especially as the only radiator wasn't very hot.
4.2
Attentive service, great suite and location
we love our stay and everything was spotless
4.2
We loved the spacious clean rooms, how the accommodations were spread out over the property, the peace and quiet, and the breakfast was very nice as well
That we didn't get to see the northern lights. :(
4.2
it was a great place to see the northern lights and also the Keri’s crater
The room was a little small
