A good break
The staff were lovely and helpful. Good and drink was good and reasonably priced
The room was not clean. It had toenails on the floor and the spoon for the tea was dirty. Also a lot of built up bird poo on the window

A lovely hotel with huge potential but needs better management of detail.
Location and grounds of hotel are beautiful.
No one on reception on arrival. Went to bar but incredibly short staffed. No towels in room , had to go and collect from reception as no one answered phone. Cistern in toilet broken so continuously filling up during evening which was noisy. When e Reported it but not noted so doubt it will be actioned.

We loved it, really enjoyed our stay.
The staff were lovely and friendly and happy to see us. The food was absolutely fantastic and well presented. The hotel is in a great location, they allow dogs as guests too, so it's a perfect place for walking.
This is not a complaint, just an observation and personal opinion, the mattress was a bit hard for my liking ha ha ha. 😉

Great location away from it all, and dog-friendly.
The breakfast waiter was very professional. I loved the location of the hotel, in that it was walking distance from a National Trust nature reserve area with great views across the sands to the Lakeland Fells, weather permitting! The hotel was quiet, despite there being a wedding party the night we stayed.
My husband found the breakfast a little disappointing as there appeared to be no cheese or cold meats. The room was clean and comfortable, but there were no reading lights to use when sitting in bed.
