Janeska took ownership. We had a late check-in and early check-out. She was most accommodating on both occasions. Loved the stay. Will definitely visit again.

It is a beautiful location and the rooms are well designed. Cleanliness were good - just the fridge did not smell very nice when you opened it
The breakfast were good, however for a 4 star accommodation one expects something more - for example the bread perhaps homemade - the preservers homemade and more variety that one can choose from

this is my 3rd time staying at Gaikou lodge. Breakfast is tasty, freshly baked croissants, filter coffee, omelet super with mushrooms backon and cheese filling, toast and the best fruit salad.
In the family unit, I would have loved a small oven as we were self-catering. It had a big fridge and microwave, also a plunger.

Beautiful setting
Only one bath towel for two of us. No fresh or long life milk to make tea/coffee. No service at breakfast.

Wanted to give a 9.5 rating but can't. Really a lovely place with a great view. Staff very friendly and the breakfast was very good. Lovely grounds and surroundings. Loved the room and layout, tranquil and peaceful. Even though its at the end of town, everything is nearby and it feels as if you are in the countryside. The place is awesome and loved it, but the bed situation is not acceptable.
Ps. Perfect place for honeymooners but not with 2 single beds and single bed duvets . Also add some bubble bath to make the best of that fabulous bath.
The reason for not getting a higher rating: the beds are very comfy, however 2 single beds pushed together and two separate single bed duvets do not belong in these rooms (we booked an extra large double bed). It's a couples retreat and such a romantic space with the huge open bath, but the separate beds is definitely a no go.
Will definitely book again but only once the single bed and skimpy single duvet situation has been addressed and we receive what we booked, not sure why the bed selection was overlooked or maybe it was intentional due to the amount of discount we receive via bookings.
Ps. Perfect place for honeymooners but not with 2 single beds. Also add some bubble bath to make the best of that fabulous bath.
