The personal "touch" lent to your stay at Posada Don Jaime by owner Ignacio, puts the experience "over the top"! Besides being a wealth of information concerning El Escorial and the surrounding area (in my case hiking information), his attention to detail and apparent devotion to serving his clients is an undeniable asset to his hotel. Reasonable pricing, location and availability of secure parking at a reasonable price were factors in my choice of Posada Don Jaime, and proved to be an excellent choice.
Breakfast being available would have been a real convenience, but the lack thereof should not be a deal-breaker.

Hotel was marvelous, manager was a great bloke. Very helpful and facilitated my early departure.

We had the room with the terrace. The owner is very warm, friendly and helpful without being intrusive. He does everything to make you feel at home.

Fantastic host very helpful and well prepared.
Sometimes the hills get to you.

The rooms are elegant and the bathroom was great, lovely terrace off the bedroom. This is an old world style, do not expect fridge in room, TV, or elevator but the WiFi was excellent. Limited parking but we were lucky to squeeze our car into underground garage. Street parking difficult. Interesting classic paintings, maps and artifacts of old Escoreal in the whole building.
We have stayed here twice before and were initially very disappointed to find no desayuno, which used to be a generous breakfast served in the dining room to start off your day. However there are some excellent pastry shops within a very short walk. Much of the town is steep so expect to climb a lot of hills.

it’s a beautiful older mansion with exceptional rooms, well ours was! The inn attendant, Ignacio, was pleasant and very helpful about things so see and discover. Loved our one night stay!

excellent character property in a great central location

Very warm welcome where time was taken to not only explain the facilities but a short presentation of the town with maps was given. Easy to find and parking available on site.
Nothing to note

This is a lovely hotel with a perfect location for a visit to El Escorial and central location for dining. Lovely Spanish portraits don the walls and you feel a sense of pride and recognition for Spain's glorious history. The Spanish hospitality was much appreciated. Our room was comfortable with good wifi and air conditioning. There is a bit of a bed and breakfast feel to this posada. We opted for the breakfast at 9:00, homemade jam for toast, OJ, and coffee. Good recommendations offered for dining and for touring the El Escorial.

Superb location and a lovely superior room. Very comfortable bed and lovely shower, and everywhere very clean. Excellent service from the owner made us feel very welcome. Very happy about the parking, and grateful that the car could stay until we finished our visit at El Escorial palace. Will definitely stay here again if we go back to El Escorial!

Very nice and comfortable historical villa., excellent service! Attached parking garage provides big convenience.
parking was with extra charge, but we understood and appreciated it for resolving our parking issue.

It's a small friendly hotel located in the historic centre. Great to have the option of secure parking as the historic centre is always busy.
Some really nice restaurants within walking distance. The owner and staff made this a very pleasant stay and would recommend it to others.

The hotel and the rooms are giving a air of another era. Very spacious and very clean rooms with a internal design of luxury from the past. Quiet place with very friendly staff. Very fast Internet. No need for TV in the room it just spoils the whole theme and atmosphere. Upon our arrival we got a warm welcome and information about the city and important places we should visit besides monastery. It’s only 250 m from the monastery. Recommend to everyone to get a chance for this experience.
Everything is excellent.

The location is a few minute walk from the center of town and the keeper is a true gentleman and is concerned for all of the guests' needs including advice for Covid testing and transport to Madrid airport. On arrival, we enjoyed a briefing on the best hikes, restaurants and a comprehensive description of the Monastery. Breakfast is available for reasonable price. We loved our room full of charm.

We loved our quiet room with high ceilings, and our semiprivate terrace (where we had a picnic lunch). We loved the location, close to hiking trails, restaurants, and the palace itself. And we loved our shower, with the hydro jets! Our gracious host steered us toward excellent hiking trails, and his restaurant recommendations were both winners.
If we could change one small thing, it would be to put the liquid soap into a nice decanter or squeeze bottle. But that's it. Otherwise, our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing.

Great location and a nice big room
The bed was not comfortable
