Location is great, at walking distance of all historic sites. Great restaurant with excellent service. The staff was kind and helpful. Safe parking.

Cozy, Clean and Comfortable

The restaurant staff was lovely and offered me sautéed vegetables instead of eggs for breakfast, since I am vegan. Everything was delicious and the service excellent.

My room was right over the kitchen, which was nice because it was warm. But a few times, there were people playing loud music in the area right outside the kitchen, and although the complimentary earphones helped somewhat, they did not prevent me from hearing the same two songs over and over and over. Fortunately, it was not when I was trying to sleep.

Classic comfort in old hotel

Beautiful old hotel with elegant feel. Very polite and courteous staff, especially in the restaurant. Very good breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Walkable location.

Room was overly warm. I asked for a fan but never got it.

The restaurant is elegant. The service there was wonderful and the food was even better. I would strongly recommend that guests eat lunch or dinner at the restaurant in addition to the breakfast which was very good.

The setting is a beautiful, historic building, well-dressed. the restaurant is peaceful and has a gorgeous view of a garden on the back end of the hotel, you almost can’t tell you are in the middle of the city. The bathroom was a good size, very clean accommodations.

No fans or air vents in the room, the streets can be quite noisy but leaving a window open felt necessary for some air

Great Hotel in a Great Location

Hotel Victoria is the perfect location in Cuenca. It is a beautifully restored colonial building with a lush garden in back and a blend of traditional and modern amenities. The friendly professional staff speaks good English and the restaurant is a Cuenca institution.

A beautiful, classy, well-run establishment.

The location was perfect, close enough to do the things we had planned, but also far enough away from crowds and right by the beautiful river. Breakfasts were excellent, so much great, fresh food, with fast, attentive, friendly servers. The whole staff was very approachable and attentive. They handled all requests like finding & getting reservations to great restaurants and setting up rides and helping with sight-seeing. They also spoke English which is very helpful. The rooms were spacious and beautiful with super views. Very clean with a safe in the room and someone at the desk all the time. Loved the antique decor in a classy, old, building. And very important to me, very quiet, you cannot hear other travelers in their rooms. Highly recommended. Many thanks to Flavio, Anthony and their co-workers.

Nothing. We told the young men at the front desk that we would highly recommend The Hotel Victoria and I am! We would definitely stay there again if we return to Cuenca. One of our most memorable stays.

The hotel is great but before finalizing your reservation check if your room has a window.

The hotel represents an extraordinary level of style, decor, and service. The rooms of the hotel that have windows are likely very comfortable.

The problem is that the hotel also has a number of rooms without windows and these rooms are uninhabitable because of the high level of heat accumulate over a day and the lack of adequate ventilation.

A beautiful old hotel centrally located but you do not want to stay on the street side.

The breakfasts were very good, with a selection of fruit, coffee and tea, we usually had eggs as well. The bread/buns were not good but the service was also excellent. Overall the hotel itself is beautiful, very old and well maintained in a very central part of the city. You can walk to many attractions from it, no need for a car here.

We were given a lessor room than we booked on Booking.com, the hotel staff had no interest in fixing the issue. They really just wanted to argue and not acknowledge the difference between my reservation and the room we were given. We booked a garden view room and got a very noisy street room. Also our room was supposed to have a sofa, but the room we were given was way too small for one. I also messaged them in advance to see if a small fridge was available (as we were staying 6 days) and never heard back from them, they acknowledged getting the message, just did not respond.

Loved the staff and the location and would stay there again

The staff were amazing. They were so helpful and patient with us. We changed rooms 3 times because we wanted a bigger room and did not want to be in a room under the dining room. My husband came down with covid and they worked with us to deliver meals to the room and housekeeping passes us what we needed through the door.

The only thing that was negative was the traffic with the fumes. Not their fault. They provided earplugs but if we closed the door it cut out all the noise.

Best hotel we stayed at in Ecuador. Staff were amazing. Two of our crew were suffering from food poisoning (not from this hotel) and the staff really looked after them by giving them some special local tea to help with their problems.
