Nothing, all was good

Never having been to the Daintree, prior to this visit, we chose well! Right in the middle of everything. Terrific home-cooked meals, good wine selection, friendly service. A very welcoming and relaxed accommodation. We stayed in a cabin, but campers and caravans welcome. Live music was an added bonus.
Just a suggestion: an early morning coffee to get you on your way??

There was nothing to like. That's why we left after one night.
Everything. There were no kitchen facilities in the room and nothing in the general location of the place to purchase anything. The places own restaurant wasn't open to buy meals. The fridge that was in the room didn't function properly and it leaked water everywhere.

Cabin was fine, the owners are nice and helpful (they booked a boat tour for us at no cost). The walks around the premises are really nice, I liked it more than the official walks of the Natural Park.
Food could be better and a bit more generous.

I had heard some good reviews of this place so we booked in for 2 nights for our trip, in a real bed for a change.
This is a combined camping and motel/cabin complex and it is an oasis of calm and green. There are also guest only walking tracks on site.
Rooms are simple and clean with air con, fans and a mini fridge.
Bathrooms were small but really good hot water pressure!
The campgrounds also looked clean and well-spaced out. The camp kitchen was a nice place for people to gather and hang out, and not be in their tents, and the newly roofed bathroom and laundry block was so nice and clean!
There is a restaurant attached, which was great. Our dinner was really tasty and we were also lucky enough to coincide with a music night, which was great fun! I would thoroughly recommend booking a table ahead of time as the place filled up and they had to start turning people away.
I got a chance to speak to Tamara and Bruno (new owners) on what they plan to do with the place – creating a peaceful and natural place to connect with the environment and each other in the oldest rainforest in the world.
I definitely plan to come back and see how they are going as well as spending more time just being as well as getting to the other activities that I didn’t quite fit in this time round.
Would highly recommend coming here and using this as your central base for all the activities to do in the Daintree
As this is in the Daintree Rainforest, I recommend you bring your aeroguard

Was in the rain forest. The dinner options although limited were very tasty. The owners were lovely
Were some bugs around and facilities were slightly limited
But as was in the daintree rain forest, this is what you should expect and want

A lovely family run motel. The hosts Tamara and Bruno were so lovely and helpful and lent our young person games and soccerballs every day. Thank you! The motel is a perfect place to explore the beautiful Daintree from.

Needs work, place is out dated and run down. Food very basic & overpriced even for the location. $80 for 2 adults and a toddler, 2 x rice and vegis smothered in sweet chilli sauce, even though they said my sons meal won't be spicy. A heated up indian style pastie and chips.

Location is great, cabin is lovely. Best bed I ever had on my travels.
Facilities in the room. The cabin was big, could easily fit a kitchen counter to have more space to make a snack etc.

Lync Haven is in the middle of Daintree rainforest. From here you can move easily to all important places. They also serve great food at reasonable prices. It has own walking pathes through the rainforest right away from the location. The staff is really very friendly and helpful and gives good recommendations on what to visit or options for tours. Thanks a lot Tamara !

Lync Haven is in a beautiful location in the rainforest, not too far from the ferry, shops and attractions.
The owners were very friendly and made the stay that much more inviting. The retreat was really quiet and the property is well kept.
The room size (Queen Room) was perfect and it was very clean on arrival. The two ceiling fans and aircon, as well as the fridge, were a huge bonus in the Summer heat!
I understand the owners have only recently taken over the property and are doing a great job so far.
As the owners are new and haven't had time to put their own stamp on the place, you can't criticise them specifically. However, there are a few areas that could do with improving over time:
-The rooms aren't serviced at all during your stay. If you're there for just 2 nights it wouldn't be an issue but any longer and the dirt that is brought inside from walking in the rainforest can become a frustration. Supplying a vacuum or providing a very quick cleaning service every second day wouldn't go amiss.
-More towels, toilet roll and milk/tea/coffee would be brilliant. As Diwan only seems to have extremely expensive little corner shops with very little by way of groceries, guests shouldn't really have to be forking out a fortune on items that are expected in accommodations. And a wet towel on day 1 will likely be a wet towel on day 3 / 4 in the muggy, wet Summer weather so more towels would be beautiful.
-Mugs are supplied for tea / coffee but they aren't changed throughout your stay. It's not a train smash but ideally mugs would be changed daily so guests don't have to use the same mug for the duration of their stay. Also, no cutlery is provided with which to make the tea / coffee.
-The rooms are designed for short stays so living out of a suitcase for a weekend is fine but drawers or a wardrobe would make longer stays more comfortable.
-More pillows. They are pretty flat so two more pillows will sort any issues with the bed.
-The food at the Lync Haven restaurant is far too expensive. $65 for two beers and two tiny stir fries - good quality but it's twice what you'd expect to pay even in a major city.
-The tin roof on the room is awful in the rainforest. Rain, debris and animals landing on the roof will keep you up all night. Tiling the roof would make the experience far more relaxing and enjoyable.

We had bush Kangaroos come visit us in the morning. The cabin itself was spacious and had most things you would need.
The resort seemed to be going through a rough period and the owners seemed to be very stressed. Their attitude left a little to be desired. We picked the place because it was advertised with its own bar and restaurant but they had been closed for over 12 months. The owners blamed it on lack of customers yet the restaurant 5 min down the road was doing good trade.

The rooms were very clean. Nice to have the wallabies at our back door. Great for families, interesting nature walks. The gentleman upon arrival was very friendly.
Very sad the tourism industry has been affected as hardly any people around, if we did not ask about the restaurant would not have known it was closed due to no people around. Constant hourly bang like noise - could have been the air-con kicking in.

Owner-manager Justin and his wife went out of their ways to make our five-night stay comfortable and memorable. Despite the Covid-enforced closure of the LyncHaven restaurant and frequent rain, we were catering for ourselves, sharing bread (but no other food) with pesky Agile Wallabies in an enclosure at the back terrace. The highlight was Justin’s introduction to his very own croc in a pool on the property and the pure-blooded dingoes, that he is breeding and whose howls competed with a plethora of bird song. If you want to get close and intimate with the unique Daintree, stay at LyncHaven. — The Daintree Discovery Centre is worthwhile, the stiff entrance fee allows one to enter for a week, recommended because there is much to see and learn.
The resident cassowary proved elusive, although other visitors met it and its chick.
