Good location, relatively quiet, clean, nice beds
Room needs updating, bathroom faucet loose, no security lock on door

A good meal when we needed it! Cosy and with great ambiance!

The staff was amazing. She was lovely kind and helpful.
The room looked nothing like the picture. I got bitten in the bed through the night. The walls had stains all over them. There were only the basic 4 channels on the TV. I could hear the people in the rooms next door every time they used their shower and went to the toilet.

Lovely old building
Awesome staff

Bed was comfortable, room and facilities were clean.
The door rattled in the lock I had to stuff paper between the door and the jamb to stop the noise

Bit dated and modernisation was interesting.

Central location in Timaru. Free parking. Good price. Pretty comfortable and had everything we needed for a short stay.
The decoration is very bright and gaudy. Whole building just felt a bit old and in need of some refurbishment.

Great location very close to bus terminal and Visitors centre. Short walk into town centre main shopping strip. Hotel staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Happy to mind my bag before check-in and after departure. Hotel food was just lovely I had the best roast pork dinner ever.
Room facilities are quite outdated but I believe this is work in progress. Despite this my needs were catered for and the staff more than made up for this.

location and facilities
undergoing earthquake strengthening with scaffolding - the external appearance made me wonder if the hotel was still operating, but once inside it was easy to overcome the initial negative response.

The bed was comfy and enjoyed the full breakfast
The room did not reflect the room which was advertised online. Nor was offered the newly renovated rooms, which would have been available.

Went round the corner to Mrs M. Great!
Shower curtain sucked into shower. Wayer ended up all over the floor. We had to use all the towels to mop up.

Staff were great. Special mention to Destiny at breakfast. Really friendly..
Room was OK but tea making facilities without any cups. Wardrobe didn't open. Communication about breakfast very poor. .

great location
the a renovating the hotel , have stayed here before and the renovated rooms are OK, unfortunately the room I got was not renovated and was very very tired - stayed in lots of hotels over. the last 40 years and not sure I’ve seen a razor blade disposal box in any of them …was told the room was an upgrade too ?

there were no bread plate or knife to put our fruits.

spacious rooms
very rude staff, photos did not look the same to what the rooms state was like, rooms were very dusty. asked if we could check in an hour later and was turned down very rudely by the staff, no secure storage rooms for our language.

We really liked our room…spacious, recently redecorated, great bed and shower.
Meal was also great…good value and very tasty.
Lift was not always on the correct floor. I have to use a crutch so my partner aged 91 had to go up and down 2 floors to get the lift for me.

Location and restaurant
The shower was a problem for me. In Timaru for hip surgery and the high step up into it was a concern. Could have done with a non-slip mat or something to hang onto
