The location is perfect for exploring the Dandenongs, in a nice quiet situation set in lovely gardens.
The staff were nice and very easy to communicate with. They notified us that the room could be available early and texted us when it was, which was very convenient.
There is a nice amount of space. The kitchen had sufficient amenities and breakfast provided was great.
The whole space was exceptionally clean.
There is significant damp. The sachets of salt and pepper were so damp that the contents had clumped together.
Most disturbing was the smell of mould in the room. Although the room was very clean, there must be mould growing in the wall cavities. The location is very moist but the smell wasn't just a hint of damp; it was a very strong mouldy smell. I'm glad we had only booked one night as it concerned me to sleep in the room. I have mentioned this to the venue and they have responded that this will be looked into, but I wouldn't book here until the owners make it clear that the mould has been found, removed and moisture build-up prevention measures out in place.

The sunset room was spectacular, the photos absolutely dont do it justice. I enjoyed sitting by the fire enjoying a cognac while my wife was relaxing in the spa.

The scenery. Birds come right up to your door. Outstanding customer service

Absolutely beautiful place to stay

Fantastic location. 2min walk from Skyhigh. Decent breakfast was provided. Room and furniture was lovely. Candles were a nice touch.
It would have been good if they provided a tissue box. Also, spa wasn't working properly. It was shooting water out the tub at high pressure. Driveway is quite narrow.

breakfast, bath, bed, and comfortable
The terrible smell of mildew, made my wife dry retch. After opening all windows and doors got rid of it but it returned when we shut up when we went out. Ended up sleeping with all windows open. Was very bad particularly in the cupboards so we sprayed Glen 20 and kept them shut. Was a shame because it had all the features to be nice but the smell.

hot water ran out so couldnt use the bath.

location was beautiful, was very cozy. breakfast that was provided that you make yourself was nice.
The bed was not a king as advertised. we aren’t tall people and we’re hanging over the bed, also mattress was hard.
downstairs was very cold as only a has gas fire that takes time to heat up downstairs as ducted is controlled by the office but staff aren’t on site.
up stairs had additional system luckily.
no wifi also as what was in the book was outdated and not the correct password.

It was a fresh and fun nice little retreat and really felt like we were away from the hustle and bustle
would have been nice to have a better view of the city, some tree pruning could resolve this

It had everything you need plus more. The little touches were everywhere. From the delicious continental breakfast to the spa bath. Well worth the money and location walk to the skyhigh restaurant which was very close for the new years function we went to. The communication was self check in was easy and very simple due to the instructions given. Will definitely pay the little extra to go again when up that way again.
The only little thing is not much at all. They had everything for every occasion.

fire place was beautiful, the grounds were spectacular, wild life was amazing. really wonderful. breaky was great. we have already booked our next stay!
nothing.
4.3
quiet, charming, everything we needed was there, comfortable bed close to Olinda and Sassafras
not a lot. but the stairs leading to the bedroom and bathroom were steep so if you have issues with knees or ankles pick one of the other room
4.3
Surround with trees and greeneries
Its better they provide breakfast instead of raw food for us to cook. Otherwise they need to change included breakfast clause in the listing.

We stayed in the Manor. Generous Breakfast, very comfy bed, huge windows to view nature, warm and cozy, excellent location, thoughtful touches all around the place for guests. Was only there two nights but it felt longer and we felt so relaxed after our stay.
If I had to state a negative it would the signage out front on the street. It needs to be clearer. The sign was very faded. Would be great if there was a sign on both sides of the driveway so you could see the it from both directions when driving in and possibly get rid of the pictures on the sign. Just have the name of the place in large font on both sides. Other than that minor detail the place was near perfect!

location and quietness, gardens , wildlife.
Nothing
4.3
it’s all the little things that made it a really enjoyable stay - chocolates, bath robes & slippers, bacon/eggs/juice, seed to feed the birds
The cottage is divided into 3 sections and the people staying above us were quite noisy

The lodgings themselves were charming and full of character. Very clean and renovated to a good standard. Amenities such as fireplaces, a stocked pantry and fresh carpets were a particular plus. Warm and inviting. Service from staff was also top-notch; lady on reception (I think her name was Abby, I hope I’m not mistaken) was tremendously helpful and thorough. Will absolutely stay again!
No complaints.
