**Review of Elan Cabin Stay:**
Our stay at the Elan cabin was extremely disappointing for several reasons:
1. **Firewood Issue**: We were not supplied with firewood upon arrival and were charged an extra $50 after a 20-minute text conversation to arrange it.
2. **Furnishings**: The cabin lacked a comfy couch and instead had a white cane 2-seater that was unstable. The bed was squeaky and uncomfortable.
3. **Maintenance Problems**: The kitchen tap was loose and felt like it might fall off. The spring-loaded front door and the double doors for entry felt very unsafe in case of an emergency.
4. **Cleanliness**: The floors, spa bath, kitchen appliances, glasses, and bowls were dirty. This significantly impacted our comfort.
5. **Intrusiveness**: Cameras placed all over the front of the property felt very intrusive, affecting our privacy.
6. **Outdoor Space**: There was nowhere to sit outside to enjoy a morning coffee, which was quite disappointing.
7. **General Comfort**: The small kitchen table with uncomfortable timber chairs made it difficult to sit for more than 10 minutes.
Overall, it felt like one cabin was split into two, and the Elan cabin was just one half, making it cramped and uncomfortable. For the price charged, the quality and condition of the cabin were unacceptable. We did not enjoy our stay and would not recommend the Elan cabin to anyone. It needs significant improvements before being rented out again. Clean bed sheets, bath towels, and properly maintained appliances are a minimum requirement for a comfortable stay.

Clean, quiet, the kitchen facility, and the welcome drink red wine :D

Comfortable facilities, location was lovely
There was no breakfast provided which we thought was to be the case; the cottage and surrounds are in need of repair and deeper cleaning

Warm and cosy during a drizzly weekend. Space heats up really well, and reasonable selection of cookware and cleaning products to utilise, (though we brought a lot of our own as we have been caught short in other accommodation before!) Directions to the property were very helpful as the access is a little tricky. We appreciated the jazz music, small vessel of port and chocolate treat upon arrival! Surrounding scenery is beautiful and we saw many parrots, kookaburras and currawongs. Can only imagine how nice it is during the warmer months, though the misty mornings were very pretty! Fantastic location for attending a wedding at the nearby Tatra Receptions.
Was a slightly precarious walk down past the other cottages to ours, especially in the wet, but it turned out to be relatively well-maintained and safe enough. Front porch and the roof of the porch is precariously fastened (and loose) so we were slightly concerned not to cause it to move in any way. Bathroom could benefit from some attention to regrouting between tiles (that are slightly mouldy), and silicone in gaps between tiles and wall around sink. Couch can barely be sat on for more than five minutes as it is old and saggy - no support for lower back. Bed mattress is likely on it’s last legs and is also quite saggy and not very supportive.

I loved this entire stay it was cozy and comfortable and in a convenient location to get across Mt Dandenong. The whole location was quiet and nice, very warm and beautiful.
Not much to say here except access to the cottage itself was a bit difficult for my car as it is small. I also wish information about the fire place, being no wood provided and how it works etc. Was advised prior to us going so we could have better prepared.

The piece and quiet, the location
Nothing

It was very homely and within a short distance to restaurants and tourist attractions
Only flaw was how thin the walls were between cottages.

Cleanliness. The floor was a little dirty.
A few more towels would have been appreciated.

The bush setting and location was nice.
I spent an extremely uncomfortable night being bitten by mosquitoes and bugs, therefore, only staying one night out of a three night stay. The outside of the cottage was covered in cob webs, helping to explain the swarm of mozzies and bugs inside. Be aware, this property is only dog friendly, not cat friendly. If you also find your stay disappointing, do not expect the Managers to be understanding or fair.

Everything, exactly what I’d expect for a cottage experience!
Nothing to report here!
4.0
The area & scenery.
Quick response from staff.
Cottage furniture/cupboards dusty & floors didn't seem too clean.
Lack of basic attention to basic details (also having to pay for firewood which wasn't mentioned in add or have experienced in previous stays)
Beds/pillows weren't comfortable.
Wasn't able to open windows for fresh air.
Stained linen & towels.
No seating area outside to enjoy the view.

Great location, very cosy and pretty.

Liked the spa.
The fridge somehow flicked the safety switch in the bathroom for the fan to work so had to open windows or turn the fridge off. There was no ready fire wood in the apartment. Small things

they need to maintain the unit better . Maybe the owner should stay in the little huts once or twice a yr , that way they can fix all the little but ANNOYING things . like the spa . only one jet worked it was really disappointing.

Location was fabulous. It was clean and warm. Views from our windows were fantastic.
No TV. Cooking pots were inadequate. Maybe you should pick up better quality ones from second hand stores or deceased estates. A plater on arrival would have been nice.

Privacy, comfortable bed, spa bath
Gas fire didn't work, bathroom door broken, bathroom vanity sink leaked water all over floor when using the tap. There were no walking trails for us from our cottage. There were no paper towels (we bought and left a new roll). Owner was not interested in assisting us try to light the gas heater. Our cottage was squeezed in between the owners home and 2 burnt cottages (undemolished).

Loved the ambience. Host communication was excellent.
There was no corkscrew.
