Hotel grounds and pool were well maintained and manicured. Daily room service was appreciated. Complementary breakfast was exceptional!
No ice machine available on floor or in our building. The power light on the air conditioner unit was too bright at night, made it hard to sleep.

Stunning locations, breakfast with the ocean view, direct access to the beach. Good choice of pools. Pools are of good size. We loved everything there. If there is anything to wish for I would ask for live music to enjoy along with the ocean breeze, a cocktail and cooling evening air.

Proximity to town—everything in walking distance and we felt very safe walking around at night.
Service was extremely slow at times at the bar area—waiting to order a drink and felt ignored while staff are there chatting with each other.

Wonderful garden, delicious and excellent food (and quality of food) excellent staff and property conditions, room with ocean view unbelievably great; great pools with excellent pool bars, gardens full of birds, monkeys, lizards in all sizes,…. Simply great!
Not much, except the rocks on the beach make it pretty difficult to swim and we heard about large crocodiles in the nearby river that also enter the ocean and attacked swimmers / surfers in the past - made us unease to swim…

Beautiful location! The beach was stunning and the hotel is so close to everything. After a week of driving and adventuring, it was nice to park the car and sit back and relax. We walked everywhere and enjoyed the beach and pool.
Nothing!

After several enquiries with the front desk we were assigned a different room on the main floor that had a modern smart TV. The bed and linen were clean and the mattress had the appropriate firmness. Everything was functioning in the room as expected. The facility was clean overall with enough beach chairs, easy access to the public beach, and being centrally located in down town Tamarindo was a plus as well.
the initial room that was assigned to us had very old analog TV that was very much useless. That was addressed once we were moved to a different room with a Smart TV

Resort is beautiful, the waitress who took care of us Allison, Saturday night was beyond Amazing.
Tourists travel to this area to have fun and be up late. The resort services in the main area should stay open at least until midnight to serve food and alcohol. Also music should be played for the guess to enjoy and dance. Also, the Mariachi should inform the guests of their fee before they request the guest to ask for a song.

Amazing location, in the center of town and yet right next to the beach with a charming view of the ocean. The restaurant patio with the trees, view of the ocean and lighting at night is beautiful. The sunset views are gorgeous.
The pool could be better but why be in the pool when the beach is close by!

Very busy area crossing can be dangerous…

We absolutely loved our stay at Diría Tamarindo. The location is perfect and easily in the best part of Tamarindo.
Our room was massive! It did come with a smaller balcony than most other room but definitely worth it as we spent most of our time at the pool anyway.
The pools are excellent and not too busy and we really enjoyed sipping sangri while cooling off in the pool
The staff were fantastic. We had forgotten to request a cot for our 9 month old but they had one brought to us in less than 1 hour of checking in.
The breakfast was gorgeous, almost too good!
Can't think of anything, absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back

The beach and pool are beautiful
We were surprised by a few things.
Diria does not own any beach. You have to pay 25$USD to rent beach chairs. Diria has chairs but they are up on their grass and you are unable to really see if you have children playing on the sand.
You are only given one towel per person for the day. You much walk down to reception to exchange at anytime. (It’s a very large resort so considering the price per room I was surprised)
We’ve travelled to Costa Rica before and always found the people to be very lovely and kind. Staff seemed worn out and “over it”. It was sad to see. There were a few good eggs in the bunch, but overall it felt like they didn’t want to be there.
This area is expensive! Difficult to eat for a family of four, for under 60-75USD and all excursions are 100$USD minimum PP.
over all, this is a beautiful country with gorgeous beaches and beautiful people. Our experience in this small pocket does not reflect the country as a whole and we will always recommend travel there. But if you’re keeping to a budget, I would recommend finding an AirB&B /VRBO or private rental with kitchen/laundry. Especially if travelling as a family.

The hotel is located in front of the beach. The sunset is fabulous and our kids did like the surfing very much. Our room was located at the other side of the road and there was a big swimming pool as well.
In the evening we experienced some noice of the neighbourhoud

Bad check in. Got my reservation wrong twice . In the restaurant they tend to be rude and not helpful. Loud and bad taste music in the garden , which could have been a very nice and chill place .
See above.

Had requested birthday decorations or something special guy at check-in took all information. He said it would be done the next day and was never done 😩

We felt safe at property, they have staff at front and they help cross street to other side of property. The pools were awesome and saw holler monkeys and iguanas! Awesome sunsets at 6 pm and eat at hotel restaurant to watch sunset. Hotel can coordinate transportation from Liberia airport it takes 90 minutes. In the morning walk the beach to the right of hotel to watch surfers and find shells.
Thursday night market about 15 minute walk from hotel with delicious food and local vendors with great merchandise. We bought bottled water in grocery store close by hotel. Sunscreen is expensive, make sure to bring a good supply.
It would be nice if hotel had filtered water station to fill water bottles.

This place is good in so many ways and bad where it should not be. Its placement right on the beach is just above everything else, the pools are nice, and most of the staff very helpful, but.
The included breakfast and ordering "food" from the restaurant, my god, where to begin. The breakfast has the feel of being back in highschool, like a food court, half cooked omlets, and there is no trace of lokal Costa Rican food or tradition. This is american big is better! And just to top it off, the restaurant with its beautiful view in the evening, we got something that reminded me of taco bell, only 50 times whorse. Its only purpose was to fill your belly. The chef must be blind, deaf and completely unable to taste his own making. Never had a worse meal.
The rooms where clean except in all the corners, where the quick mopping would require manual work.
So the poor food and lack of cleaning makes the price way to high. Even though i loved everything else about this place, you cant help feeling ripped off after your stay. Its a shame, cause it could easily be fixed.

right on the Main Street. very loud all night long. truck brakes, motor cycle were extremely loud. no elevator

Location is Great! Right in the center of town, large property with many stores and restaurant options. The beach access is prime! The pizza place onsite is delicious! It is more of a relaxing vibe, older crowd. Not much of a party atmosphere. The property is definitely secure with workers checking bracelets to access the hotels.
For the room pricing, I really thought rooms would be bigger. They were pretty small. The parking lot is not ideal either, its a dirt lot before the gate to enter the property. They stole our hubcaps from our car too. The pool bars close early, and are cashless for payment.

Great location right at the beach which is exceptional for Tamarindo. Nice breakfast buffet.
Cocktails and food at the bar not very nice, no mosquito net, staff not really friendly. Very expensive…

Irene took care of our problems, when other staff ignored our requests.
Our room had a magnificent view.
House keeping helped us when no one (except Irene) did not follow through.
The facility is a bit run down. We expected a pristine four star resort. Maintenance could be improved.
