Love the pool comfy bed
Breakfast not included - not much choice for vegetarians

The staff were friendly and it was a perfect location with parking in central Exeter.

I used the outdoor pool. the room was warm and comfy for a single room although it had a double bed. The staff were super friendly and the breakfast was great.

It was only a few mins walk from the city centre
We went in January and it felt January. The staff were good, but a bit flat. I have worked in hospitality myself and know how it feels. Nobody but a foot wrong just lest zesty than previous Du Vin stays.

Great style and features; sympathetically converted.
Nothing to dislike.

Room was great - felt like a suite.
Parking situation is unsustainable. I don't know why they bother offering spaces to non-disabled guests as the car park next door is cheaper, literally 60 seconds walk away, and you don't get other people parking in your reserved space 'to drop off their luggage (for 3 hours)'.
Second issue is the emails they send with important information. Black text on a very dark green background is almost impossible to read, and despite replying to all their 'important' emails asking for a version I could read, no replies.

Parking is limited

Good location for the purpose of our visit. Dog friendly in most areas, within easy reach if walks for dogs too. Warm welcome from reception staff and good choice of food and drink. Comfortable room and good selection of in-room amenities.
The bar and lounge areas were not to the usual quality/design of other HDVs we’ve enjoyed. Frustrating, at a hotel of this star rating, that you have to toast your own bread and queue to get your coffee out of an automated machine at breakfast. Also slightly irritating that you have to pay for parking on site!

It's a nice hotel, wouldn't have said the classic room that we paid for was any different to a cosy one though
Nowhere to hang clothes and pool closing at 7.30 as we arrived late and the next day it was raining

Comfortable. Good breakfast. Nice outside spaces

Welcome on arrival was fantastic. Very professional and friendly staff throughout, who actually seemed to be interested in their guests as people rather than just customers. Good facilities and a good, easy to reach location are all set in a beautiful historic building.
Nothing, other than the room claleaniness. This was NOT bad, but there was some dust and cobwebs around the bathroom door frame. Not a big thing and only a minor attention to detail point, but enough to drop from a 10 to a 9.

Nothing really, service really good

All good

We loved the fact that we were simply alone and no one else could see or hear us. We are private people and we really appreciate the separation from others when we go away.
The Bistro was very well lit. We had expected a little more privacy.

There were obviously issues in kitchen, specifically on the Saturday, when there were other events in the hotel to be catered for!
The service was very slow, and the quality of some dishes not up to scratch.
having booked for 8.00, we finally left the restaurant at 11.00!
