The restaurant was outstanding. Breakfast was fit for a king, complete with smoked trout, fresh, warm homemade breads, and jams. Dinner choices were wide, varied, and healthy. Lovely locally caught trout with many sauce options. The chocolate cake with a drizzle of blueberry cognac was scrumptious. Some of the best nights sleep that I've had thanks to the high quality beds. But the absolute best part of all was Stella, the proprietor who insured that we were happy and well cared for.
nothing...our stay was perfect

Location, the hot tubs and geothermal springs on the premises. Local restaurant was really nice - we had in the fjord nearby a really joyful whale calf for the days we stayed there and a nice arctic fox coming around in the evenings - this brought our experience to a whole new level. 🙂
Nothing in particular.

This place is magical. The location is beautifully secluded in the Westfjords. The staff and all the animals make it feel like one big family. Great things to do around. The place is simple but great!

The hotel is located in beautiful valley in the Westfjords. It offers some additional activities like e.g. hot pool or indoor swimming pool. It has authentic country atmosphere which we really liked. Hotel stuff is very nice. The room was clean, and the Wi-Fi was good.
We had no complaints.

Nothing to complain

Swimming pool, hot tub and outside bathing area with hot water were amazing. A cat will accompany you whilst bathing, you should pet her/him a lot. Also, very friendly dogs keeping you safe during night by overwatching the area.

I am just in love with this place! So much to do, wish I could stay longer. Indoor pool and outdoor hot tubs are of course the highlights. I expected this place to be beautiful, but it was waaaay more charming than expected. Owners are nice, 2 dogs by the door, black cat walking around with cute meows, parrot saying "Góđan daginn' and beautiful horses. Feels like a paradise and the location is great, you can really find some peace here. Rooms are clean with basic amenities. Come in the Northern Lights season and watch them from the hot tub outside, memory of a lifetime!

The entire property at Heydalur is beautiful. The green house is great but also the outdoor hot tubs offer breathtaking views of the mountains. Our room exceeded expectations. The staff was very welcoming, and the house dogs Loki and Bangsi greeted us and made us feel right at home. Dinner was delicious. Highly recommend Heydalur!

The general atmosphere was very pleasant, the hot pool on site is a wonderful bonus. The hotel pets were wonderful as well.

I love the pool . It was really nice .
I wish that there was a path to go to pool and hot tub with some type of lights of some kind at night .

Nice hotel in the middle of nowhere but with a vast range of possible activities. Horses and hot pots. Rooms are well organized and large. Breakfast is great.

The hot pot & geothermal pool - amazing!! Excellent meals on site. Challenging hike adjacent to the property (the recommended local app was really helpful in completing it!) Lots of fun quirks - the parrot greeting us at reception, delightful staff, sweet dogs roaming around, a full swimming pool inside of a greenhouse. We also spotted an Arctic fox during our stay.

This place is a gem. I would highly recommend booking at this family run hotel. Please don’t expect new luxury, because that is not Heydalur, what you get is a unique place and amazing location. The food is darn good, crossing the River to the outdoor natural hotpot is an adventure (you will have a story to tell if you lack balance), and the family pets are an added bonus. The staff and the owner treat you like family. love it!!!

The owners were lovely, the staff brilliant, and the hotel fantastic :)
We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the picturesque scenery.

Friendly staff. Great environment. Quiet. Friendly pets. Great amenities
Wifi was pretty much inoperative in the section of the hotel I was staying. Can't speak for other parts

Super cute dogs
- Molty bathroom
- Bed sheets didn't smell good
- Not working lock of the entrance door.
- Not sure it's properly igienic to let a parrot wander around breakfast room.

We loved everything! The breakfast and dinner were both really good and good prices. The hot spring was really nice. Horseback riding here with our guide, Paula, was an amazing experience. The horses, dogs, and bird were all very sweet and happy. This place really made our first trip to Iceland even more special.

A really beautiful discovery. The pool in the green house is amazing. Also the natural hot pools. Nice staff. Lovely nature.
It's quite big, so many people there.

Excellent place...beautiful and relaxing.. the host is welcoming and service is very good.

The food, hospitality and location for hiking were all excellent
The path to the pool could be improved, but that is a minor thing

In a lovely location. Nice food in the evening.
Very busy. Lots of people sat around drinking when we arrived and in the morning we had to step over beer cans to get to breakfast as the glasses, cans etc. had not been cleared away by the staff. Our toilet didn't flush and we mentioned it to the staff but they didn't seem in a hurry to check it. The whole place felt dated, tired, not especially clean.
