The resort is in a very serene and peaceful environment. The sound of the waterfall is soothing. The staffs were friendly and responsive. They prepare fresh food from natural ingredients.
Location is bit isolated. And from the road, one has to cross past a series of local tenements with farm animals and some local artisans weaving dry leaves before reaching the actual resort.
Less option for vegetarians.

+ The location is absolutely amazing. Still close to Ubud yet on the edge of a jungle with a stunning view. The most beautiful hotel we've ever stayed at!
+ Pools are very clean and comfy
+ The rooms are really pretty and designed with a lot of attention to detail
+ Breakfast and the welcome drink are amazing
+ Go down to the river to find a private paradise with huge- and smaller waterfalls and a place to swim
- The food (lunch/dinner) is okayish but as mentioned by some others in the reviews, the value-for-money is poor.
We've had better food in/around Ubud for half the price. There are cheaper options (Warungs) around the corner.

paradise within paradise. the place is unreal and you’d be a fool not to book it. old and/or precious people might not “get it”. the journey is part of the experience and you not want to leave, ever.

A beautiful boutique hotel with a lot of details and breath taking view. beautifully decorated rooms, the owners and staff very attentive and willing to help. we bought a picture and when it arrived we had an issue of payment, the owner without big discussions proposed to help and paid firstly so we could a bit later pay to him back the amount. all in all great experience, thank you!!!

I’ve stayed at many hotels/villas before and I’m not one to write a review. but Kalisat deserves some positive feed back. everything was great from the moment I walked in, very friendly staff and amazing room and views. it was my first time staying in ubud (I’m normally down the beach) and Kalisat ticked all the boxes for a jungle experience, would be the first name that comes out my mouth when chatting to people wanting to visit Ubud.

Greatest service of any vacation stay on the planet - nothing else comes close - they upgraded us to an exceptional view just because it was available

Amazing place to stay. With gorgeus views of the jungle. Great place to relax and forget abouth rest of the world. The stuff is super friendly and helpfull to arange anything you need and anh activitoes you would like to try on Bali. Tje restairant food is amazing, far above what you can get even in the city.
Carefull if you have mobility issues. There is a lot of stair to every room and theh are tall and steap. 2 rooma including oirs had issues with water leaking from the roof. Needs to be patched before nwxt rainh season.

The most stunning views, an incredible private retreat from the bustle of Ubud. Beautifully decorated in a traditional style, with charming touches wherever you looked. The staff were all incredibly helpful and accommodating. The dinners over looking the forest were fantastic. There’s even a waterfall just a short stroll away.
Nothing.

What a fabulous place to stay!! The grounds are clean, peaceful, and so full of nature. The pool is the cleanest Ive ever seen. The owners, spa staff, chef, family of temple, etc are ALL so welcoming. They provide the best recommendations. The breakfast is amazing and free with the room. We did a couples deluxe spa. It was also amazing. They provide laundry service if needed for an extra but very reasonable cost. It is close to several restaurants, which were also great. HIGHLY recommend for your stay in Ubud.

We arrived in the dark and fell straight into our huge four bolster beds after a crazy delicious late supper arranged for us on the airport transfer. We awoke at dawn and were slack-jaw WOWED by the views from the terrace. The mist rose from the dramatically deep gorge in pinky gold plumes creating a dreamlike filter over the property. We ordered breakfast by the pool in the Bali hut. WOW again. So much freshly made, tastebud tingling food & juice. After lounging around on various boho-chic furniture, we strapped on sneakers and braved the hundreds of steep steps to the river & waterfall. We wound our way back up through the village via paddy fields before plunging into the pristine villa pool. Crunchy fresh summer rolls satisfied our lunch needs perfectly. The charming management arranged a taxi and within a swarm of buzzing scooters we arrived at the tiny, intriguing cafes, shops & temples of central Ubud. We opted to eat at 'home' each night in the upper restaurant deck; the lure of the black chilli chicken was magnetic. The next few days were a step and repeat of the first. Insert Hindu Temple, Rice Terraces, White Water Rating into the afternoon. A heavenly massage with a misty view of the valley soothed our limbs, clean laundry was delivered and we left for the islands. What a magical spot!

I so have mixed feelings about this property! On the one hand the views were absolutely stunning, amazing, the main reason we’ve picked it, on the other hand it wasn’t spotlessly clean.
So the good things:
- huge room (maybe too big for two persons)
- good breakfast
- extremely warm staff and very helpful with everything
- two pools, SPA, restaurant
- the room was not insulated so there was a constant noise going on from the river and from insects, birds, geckos etc
- the walls did not meet the roof, so there was a space where small animals could fit and enter the room. It wasn’t very pleasant when I found a huge cockroach on the floor invaded by a ton of ants eating it, nor when I found unidentifiable poop :))
- towels did not feel clean, breakfast plates were not clean, they had spots.
- it felt like living in a very big tent with a lot of useless furniture in it and at a high price
- it was not clean, but maybe that was partly due to the fact that it was open to nature so insects could come and go, make nests, leave spider nets and so on. If you love being in touch with nature, you might love this villa. For me, sleeping in a bed with ants is not what I was expected when booking.
- I was not comfortable staying here and I wouldn’t have booked it had I known all this stuff beforehand
- at the end of my staying, I paid for accommodation, drinks, laundry, but did not receive split costs. I did not ask for it either, so it is my fault here.

When you walk through a traditional Balinese family courtyard, you are greeted upon by the friendly and welcoming staff and owner and your senses will be delighted by the fresh and delicious food and the breathtaking vista over the valley.
You might not like the shows put on every night by the frogs ang Tokay geckos and other insects if you are a light sleeper but hey you might love it. Just enjoy.

Everything was perfect since the very beginning. We really felt cuddled by the owners and the staff, very welcoming and kind. The structure in built inside a traditional village and is immersed in the deep forest of Ubud. The rooms are tastefully furnished in balinese style and the view of the river and the forest from our room was just breathtaking.
The restaurant is also a must do.
Highly Recommended!

Wonderful situation set in a traditional Balinese village on the side of a forest/river canyon. Amazing staff, particularly Cindy and Dewa, help with everything including excursions. Food was exceptional. Owners were always around and very friendly. Feels more like a family then a typical hotel

Kalisat is a beautiful, welcoming place. It was love at first sight for our family, and the stay has been a true pleasure, much due to the exceptionally friendly and helpful straff. But also the place itself is amazing. Watching the sunset and seeding monkeys playing in the trees across the river, looking into the jungle around and listening to the sounds- either from a comfortable distance in the lovely restaurant, or going down to the river for a closer look.
The design of the place is wonderful, exotic and comfortable. And the breakfast- well, it was necessary to take some photos of the beauifully arranged food, although it took some dicipline not to eat it immediately.
Still, the staff is the best. We needed some medical help and surely got it, with a warm thoughtfullness we would not have expected.
Villa Kalisat truely lives up to it’s slogan; being your Bali home.

Extremely friendly owner and staff, food was delicious, location is beautiful with an absolutely stunning view, interior was amazing and cosy - typically Indonesian and not so modern and cold like other places. Location is in a beautiful area. Best welcome drink ever with dragon fruit and lots of spices, my absolutely favourite drink.
You could climb down a valley and it felt like being in a remote nature, but unfortunately at the bottom there was a lot of rubbish and no one seemed to bother removing it. But you can find this all over Bali - it's probably not the accommodation to blame.

It's been a month since I left my Bali home at Villa Kalisat and it feels like yesterday. I miss the fragrance of the incense, the roar of the river, the pools, the silly monkeys, the breakfast, and the staff who quickly become family. They truly leave you wanting for nothing and show up with things you didn't even know you needed. The personal touch at its finest and thank you from the bottom of my heart! I was very comfortable in the Monkey Throne Room but any room would be wonderful. Jetlag had me up at 3am the first two nights but the ambiance of the lightning and decor was so soothing. I look forward to my return. Bali and Villa Kalisat should be on your bucket list. Go visit soon!
