The room was comfortable enough and not a bad location
NOISE!
We booked a hotel for a nice night away to see an event at the arts centre, and specifically didn’t want to stay in a pub, hence choosing what we thought would be a good hotel. Turns out we ended up in a pub that stayed open late.
When we checked in we were told the bar would close at 23:00. At 01:00 the music eventually stopped but the noise all evening from drunk punters smoking and drinking right outside our window was unbearable.
On top of this we have tried to contact the hotel management several times but have failed. I would absolutely not stay here again, it’s far too expensive for what it is and they clearly don’t care about their customers.
Save your time and money and stay at a premier inn. I’m all for spending money locally but this has put us right off and is a disgrace

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly.
The noise from the room above was annoying every time someone moved. It echoed through the room. The shower wasn't great. More water was leaking from the taps than the actual shower head.

Great location, a stones throw away from the sea. The room was very clean and spacious. We had everything that was needed for few nights stay. The bathrobes were a nice touch.
A little pricey given there is no housekeeping.

No complaints

The fact that the bedrooms were clean and thr bed was comfy.
The shower only dribbled, couldn't adjust the force of the water either. Place smelt musty and on walking in to the pub, place smelt like wet dog.

Rooms are obviously recently refurbished, large and well furnished with lovely bathroom. Room 2 is the best with a sea view and window seat. We considered going out for breakfast but decided to take their in room breakfast option which was amazing value, beautifully presented and very generous - not to be missed!
Entrance was rather off putting - no obvious entry point and you walk into a large (& empty at 4pm) bar. Was concerned that the rooms might be a little run down but this was not an issue at all

It's very central, two mins walk from the beach and close to bars and restaurants. There is no formal parking, but we had no problem finding on-street parking for free.
There was no reception desk. The bar acts as reception. When we arrived mid afternoon all the doors were locked. We knocked and a very nice chap opened up for us. It was more like a guesthouse than a hotel

bedrooms were very good and well equipped i.e. tea and coffee etc hair dryer. Comfortable bed and nice white linen.
Ah! Shame to say, really, but evenings in the bar were somewhat noisy. There were nearly always very few people in the bar area, but it became noisy most nights when people started to play pool. One or two men (may have been staff and/or family) were especially loud and used bad language - a lot.
