The location, perfect for what we wanted to do, cottage small, quint, but ideal for our needs. The owner acted promptly when we needed him. Very short walk to Hythe town.
We did not get the address from your agency, all we got was the post code, keys were supposed to be in a lock box, but were left in a shed, helpful neighbour told us were to find them, lock to front door has a knack to open it, tends to stick. Shared parking with next door, so parked on road, as there was space. Instructions on how to use wood burner would help. Stairs were steep and narrow but went with the quirky cottage welcome pack left by owner, which we enjoyed.

I haven't received a key, because according to the owners I was too late for check in, although I messaged them I was going to be late because the ferry from Calais was delayed for 1 hour. I booked the cottage for the whole weekend, but the owners refused to handover the key and let me check in on Saturday morning. They didn't pick the phine when i tried to reach them in the morning. According to them I didn't manage check in on time so I wouldn't get the cottage for the entire weekend. This is of course totally wrong.
The one thing I was happy about was that I don't had to stay in the cottage in the end. I only saw the cottage from the outside but it looked an absolute shambles. It's definitely not worth the money the owners ask for it. Difficult to find and no parking space at all, also the word 'cottage ' is misleading as this is not a rural stand-alone house but a very tiny terraced ruin.
I didn' like the stance from the owners about check in and the fact that booking.com allows this to happen. Booking.com has stamped me as Genius 3, but this event didn't make me feel as a genius. Besides the obvious loss of 386-pound sterling, I had to look for another place to meet my autistic son, who I hadn't met for a big part of the year.

We loved the location, set just a short walk/cycle from the town centre, the Royal Military Canal and the beach. The cottage itself is compact and cosy, but with pretty much everything you need for a comfortable stay. Key collection and communication with the owner was excellent - nice welcome gift of a bottle of wine and chocolates too.....
The stairs are extremely steep due to the period of the cottage, however some of the treads are uneven & worn - great care is needed coming downstairs. Headroom is limited in the top bedroom. The kitchen is also tiny, so it's a one-person at a time, one-task at a time kind of space.

Quirky little cottage
Stairs, small TV, no shower.

A quaint compact cottage, reasonably priced. We were attending a wedding with family so just used as a base to get ready and to sleep.
It didn't have a proper shower and the one attached to the taps didn't work very well. The smoke alarm in the living room had no battery.

lovely wood burner fire, very cosy cottage
wasn’t that I didn’t like the stairs it was just a little steep

Very well presented quaint cottage. Well equipped and clean.
Shower didn't work but we had luxury of bath instead. Plenty of hot water but the speed of a shower would sometimes be more convenient.

Everything you could need and more is packed into this charming little cottage, it even has a dishwasher! The fire is absolutely fabulous and plenty of firewood too. Our son loved the loft bedroom with it's own little staircase and reading nook. James the host is very welcoming and kind (thanks for the welcome wine & biccies). The location is brilliant, we were able to walk everywhere and it's very close to a waitrose and the high street.
Being a period property it feels a little damp in places and in turn there is a smell of mould in some places.

A cute little cottage, great location as easy to walk down to the seafront and town! Nice welcome pack and the owner is friendly.
The property was filthy! Lucky we had bought our own cleaning stuff as we had to completely deep clean it as it clearly hadn’t been done since the last guest stayed, which is worrying especially in these times... needs a bit of TLC as it seems very rundown in the garden and generally throughout the cottage if all these changes happened could be a really lovely cottage.
No shower.

We didn't have a breakfast. Location was really good
No garden for the dogs but a green nearby.
3.5
Closeness to High Street with shops, bars and restaurants. Off road parking. Very conformable bed.
Wet and cold weather. Not owners fault.
