Lovely and clean. Basic but nice linens.
Not enough parking

It was very convenient for the Channel Tunnel terminal. The room absolutely as expected. All good.
The wait on arrival, while customers at the bar were given priority. To be fair we didn’t have to wait very long, but it was long enough with two tired little boys.

Lovely staff all went above and beyond for us
Nothing!

Really nice room with netflix. Staff were really friendly.
Bar was a bit rough and ready - out of character from the rest of the hotel. Very loud jukebox - locals were enjoying themselves.

Helpful, friendly staff. excellent breakfast. Clean room.
Couldn't open window in the room, although there was a fan.

I had requested and was approved for a late check out. The cleaner was banging on my door at 10am demanding me to leave. I explained I had an email confirming late checkout but she came back banging on the door continuously upsetting my little boy. I was not informed that the restaurant was being renovated. I will never be going back.

The rooms themselves were nice. Tv reception was patchy but overall nice rooms.
I was staying here with a bride to be the night before her wedding and wanted to do a little surprise for her. Called and spoke to the manager who at first seemed helpful. I paid for flowers to be arranged and the manager got them and took them to the room. He sprinkled some rose petals too which was a nice touch. I paid the manager the money for the flowers and he asked if I could buy him a drink to say thankyou which I said of course I would sort out when we were there and settled. He proceeded to remind me three more times Including when we arrived face to face. The bride to be and I went out for some dinner as we were exhausted after a busy day. The manager then called me on my mobile while I was out to tell me again he was waiting for his drink and he needed some compensation for his "troubles" of putting the flowers in the room! He then told me he wasn't leaving this unsettled and I could just pay him 10 pounds for his efforts. I felt like i had no choice but to pay him there and then as I was worried about when we returned to the hotel.
To top it off, I was kept awake all night by a drunken man trying to break into the hotel and wrenching the entrance door off its hinges and the bride was kept awake by drunken brawls outside her room from the bar downstairs.
Was a terrible experience. Hardly slept and felt pressured into paying the manager for a nice gesture which I had paid for anyway! Wouldn't recommend.

Pleasant staff and good breakfast.
Bathroom in need of alot of attention and shower too low for a tall person. A lot of rubbish in car park. We had booked a deluxe double room and feel we were overcharged.

The location was excellent, parking was good. Friendly chap greeting us and very helpful.
We got bitten by fleas in bed. The communal areas (hall) carpets filthy and grotty bed-sit type areas. Single glazed windows , noisy until midnight. Tired old bathroom.

The staff were all very helpful. The cooked breakfast was good and the room was clean and comfy

Room nice and clean. Just what needed
Pub downstairs not the best, not suitable for families really. Friendly enough though.

You could see that they have tried to make the rooms a little modern as it is an old building.
Windows were in a poor state our window was cracked and rattled through the night. Could do with secondary double glazing as very noisy outside. Extractor fan sounded like a washing machine, Loud.

APPLEDORE ROOM.
Lovely little pub but when you went through to the staircase to the rooms it was like a completely different place very contemporary look. Room was a good size for 3 people 1 double bed 1 single large TV plenty of space to store your belongings without falling over them.
Both sides of the double bed was USB plugs and the single bed had a dedicated USB plug.
The room was lovely and cool but there was a heater there if we needed it. Nice tea tray available.
THESE MADE NO DIFFERENCE TO OUR STAY.
The only things I can find and were damp patches on the ceiling some of the ceiling paint was flaking away and the bathroom was very tired but it was obvious the rest of the room had been done to a good standard.
Bed side tables should have been wiped down. Window was very very hard to shut and the screws on the handle were loose.

Location was the only good thing about our stay.
Heating in February just didn’t work. Manager had to find a heater. Tv didn’t work. No internet in the morning. Toilet seat broken, tap not attached to sink. 1 bent wire hanger supplied. No breakfast option available contrary to advertised as the kitchen was no longer in use. Car Park like a builders yard.

The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very kind and helpful. I dropped my stole when checking in and the staff found it for me.
Nothing could have been better. I had a delightful stay and recommend this hotel.

Excellent location on the high street, atmosphere was good and the staff very pleasant. The room was a good size and clean. Price was very good. A hearty full English breakfast.
The room decor was a little tired

Very Friendly staff and good customer service with pleasant rooms to stay in.
Big smart TV was also pleasing to have.
In one room sick was found under the toilet seat & in the other room the light comes in too much from under the door.

Good location for Channel Tunnel
Room was cold, no toiletries, taps and toilet seat loose. Telephone out of order so could not advise of late arrival

The room is small and the bathroom needed to be retiled and cleaned better. I booked deluxe suite so was a bit disappointed. The breakfast was adequate, well cooked fried eggs appeared to be the norm, not enough toast. The air conditioning unit didn't work and it was very stuffy.
Working AC and more choice at breakfast

Staff very friendly and helpful. Cooked full English breakfast was very generous although only 2 choices of cereals. We also de decided to eat in restaurant one evening which very good and reasonably priced.
Our sister had a lovely kingsize bed in spacious room. Unfortunately we didn't pay attention to our room when we first arrived as needed to be elsewhere but basin had an old crack in it. Shower over bath was under eaves and at 5'3" I couldn't get my head under the water and my husband at 6' struggled even more.

Room very comfortable, even if needed a bit of repair work, to the window and bathroom. Breakfasts were brilliant. The beds fairly comfortable, but due to the hot humid weather did not sleep very well, although they had provided a large fan..
The restaurant. On the web site it says there is a restaurant and provides a menu, We travelled for nearly 3 hours so arrived very hot and tired and looking foward to a meal at the hotel, only to find the restaurant NOT open on a Monday, and the menu on line did not exist. There should be times of the restaurant openings on the web site. So we were not very pleased at having to go out to find a meal only to find most places, within comfortable walking distance,i.e. the High Street and surrounding area closed at 7pm. Apart from a Turkish restaurant and a Nepalese restaurant, that turned out to be lovely.
