It was a good place to stay overnight after getting off the ferry as late to travel further
Although the linen was clean and fresh the bed was uncomfortable
3.4
Location (ease of getting to and from) and general setting was really good.
I'm a sucker for Wi-Fi being part of the package.

Friendly reception , clean and comfortable unit with great value for money. Cool train Bridge crossing over the park. Real family atmosphere
Everything we expected was exceeded

The cabins were converted railway carriages, and while aged were very comfortable and quaint. The toilet and shower blocks were very clean and well looked after. I arrived late off the ferry but the key placement and maps to Find the accomodation were adequate and easy.
Water pressure in the showers could be higher

Handy and easy access. Comfortable
Nothing at all.

No breakfast. My stay was an overnight stop over. The accomodation that I needed was more fhan adequate There qas
There was nothing that I didn't like.

It was clean and bed comfy.
Disappointed with greeting on check in. Somewhat aggressive style of question “Are you sick?” Because I was wearing a mask, followed by “we wouldn’t accept your reservation if you were sick”. Not the sort of greeting I would have expected.
If you like trains then you get some up close views of a train on a viaduct.

It was clean
Probably should have gave it a one star. Didn't have my room and gave me one I didn't really want but at 6pm could not be bothered to change after a 11 hour drive. My main problem is the room did not have a smoke alarm very poor, it also looked like it had been build in the 1950's, absolutely nothing like the picture of the room. It was like one of those bad Instagram videos you see online

Close to ferry terminal
Train tracks go over the cabins

The location would have been handy to the ferry
We booked a cabin four weeks earlier. The key was arranged to be collected from the pickup location, after coming in on the 12am ferry. Unfortunately, the key was not there for pick up. We tried several times to phone the reception, and knocked on the door of the house that appeared to be attached to the office, with no reply. Ended up sleeping in our vehicle which was uncomfortable and not what we needed after travelling 8hrs on the road and 4 hours ferry!
Two phone messages left that morning were not returned. I rang again in the afternoon and the lady was apologetic she had got the wrong day.
Fortunately, we were able to use the communal toilet facilities in the morning.

Love the cabin. Very cosy. The train going past above was noisy but nothing that can be helped. It was a great stay. Recommended for sure. It gets quite warm in the rail carriage cabin we stayed in so bring a fan or two.
Nothing.

Loved the old converted train carriage. Fascinated by train viaduct high above the camp
Tea towel and dishcloth not supplied in kitchen

Good for one night. Great shower.
Nowhere to hang clothes. No bedside lights.

What breakfast?
Beautiful location, tucked away near the mountain. Only negative was the train going overhead in the night.

Was just a stop in on our move to Christchurch. Was easy to find from the ferry terminal and a good place to stop for the night before we continued on on our trip.
