About this cabin rental
When in Ruidoso, you probably intend to spend most of your time outdoors among the mountains and lakes. Christi and Don’s Nuthouse is so welcoming and convivial. However, you might find yourself not wanting to leave its delights.
Let’s start with the great room—and what a great room it is! Encompassing the living area, a dining space, a kitchen, and a game area, this wide-open room boasts a vaulted ceiling, a gas fireplace, and plenty of large windows looking out onto Ponderosa pines and the mountains. Christi and Don’s Nuthouse sleeps ten people, and as many as three mature pets as well. But even if you have a full house, there’s plenty of room for everyone to kick back in the living area and watch TV or play charades. And wait until you stretch out on those leather sofas… so comfortable! More fun awaits in the game area, where you’ll find a pool table.
The dining table seats 8, and there’s room for four more at the breakfast bar. This bar is a handy place to set up your laptop and surf the web via the free WiFi. It’s also a convenient place to sit and help with the cooking (or to at least keep the cook company!). As for the kitchen of Christi and Don’s Nuthouse, it’s equipped with the full gamut of appliances, cookware, gadgets, and tableware. Whether you’re making breakfast omelets, a multicourse dinner, or late-night margaritas, you’ll find all the accouterments you’ll need.
If you prefer cooking and dining alfresco, head out to the covered deck. It’s furnished with a gas grill and a dining table with chairs, and the view of the mountains is spectacular. What’s more, the yard is fenced in, good news if you’re vacationing with your kids or dogs.

The house was open and great for a family. The kitchen was very poorly stocked; no baking pans/sheets, not enough cooking utensils and not enough silverware. The owner needs to update/replace many rusty sinks. The decor could use updating but the rusty sinks are less than desirable.Also there is no heat in the lower level where two bedrooms are located. The management company is amazing. They were attentive to things we needed and very easy to work with. Bottom line,
we would use the agency again but choose another location until Updates are made.

This was our second time here. We had a little different assortment of family this time. But it was all great. Twin beds would be nice in some of the bedrooms when there’s children.

The light fixture above the tub in the hall bathroom leaked after the rain Tuesday night. So basically a few fixes are needed to make this nice house better. Having the hot tub in the master bedroom is awkward. But it is broken anyway. Also I didn't see the 2 step sunken living room mentioned in the ad and was a problem for our 8 year old in a wheelchair chair. We made do and our family had a good visit in beautiful Ruidoso.

Master suite bed was broken, bottom sheet was not fitted which made for a restless night due to the sheet rolling up. A piece of dirty carpet was placed in the master bathroom. Bedding through out the home was dated and dirty ( I have pictures if needed).
Toilet seat in down stairs bathroom did not fit the toilet, shower curtain had what appeared to be blood on the inside. Carpet was dirty. Barstools in kitchen are old and unsafe, walls around bar need proper repair. Filthy between stove and counters, stove needs to be pulled out and cleaned behind. All sinks in bath I are rusted with the exception of the bathroom coming in from the garage, which is weirdly located. Spa in master says it’s not advertised on the web site but it is listed as an amenity. The yard is horribly kept, dirty and unsafe for kids to play in. The only positive is the deck, and even that needs to have a cover that doesn’t let rain in, we were forced to sit in the dirty garage when it rained, used one of the lawn chairs in the garage and it collapsed when my brother sat in it.
Don snd Christie’s Nut House needs to be listed as Don and Christie’s Dirty Not as advertised House. We won’t be staying again and will not recommend Condotel’s again.

House, deck are great. Kitchen perfect. Great area. Can't tell from pics, but living room is sunken. "TV in every room", so small. Steps are going down to the yard, couldn't a dog get up those steps? Needs paint touch-ups and a little TLC to front yard. Really has 4 bathrooms. A + Enjoyed our visit to this house.

Not As it Appeared
The photos of this house do not capture the true nature of it. The moment we opened the front door, the stench was sickening. We had to open as many windows as we could for several days to get the smell out. The house is extremely outdated and felt very dirty. I would not stay there again nor would I recommend it.

Plenty of space in house & view of El Capitan was fabulous! Snowed twice so loved that of course...
Hot tub did not work..definitely needed attention from maintenance..

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. We enjoyed every minute. We usually go, go, go but the home was so comfy we stayed in a lot. The main issue we had was that the bathroom doors didn't lock. We made a rule that if the door was shut, don't open it and it worked well.

Great location, great layout, great fenced yard for our dog. Couldn’t have asked for a better visit.
House had great open floor plan so everyone could be together and not divided when playing pool, cooking, watching tv and visiting. It was the perfect size.
