About this cabin rental

When in Ruidoso, you probably intend to spend most of your time outdoors among the mountains and lakes. Christi and Don’s Nuthouse is so welcoming and convivial. However, you might find yourself not wanting to leave its delights.
Let’s start with the great room—and what a great room it is! Encompassing the living area, a dining space, a kitchen, and a game area, this wide-open room boasts a vaulted ceiling, a gas fireplace, and plenty of large windows looking out onto Ponderosa pines and the mountains. Christi and Don’s Nuthouse sleeps ten people, and as many as three mature pets as well. But even if you have a full house, there’s plenty of room for everyone to kick back in the living area and watch TV or play charades. And wait until you stretch out on those leather sofas… so comfortable! More fun awaits in the game area, where you’ll find a pool table.
The dining table seats 8, and there’s room for four more at the breakfast bar. This bar is a handy place to set up your laptop and surf the web via the free WiFi. It’s also a convenient place to sit and help with the cooking (or to at least keep the cook company!). As for the kitchen of Christi and Don’s Nuthouse, it’s equipped with the full gamut of appliances, cookware, gadgets, and tableware. Whether you’re making breakfast omelets, a multicourse dinner, or late-night margaritas, you’ll find all the accouterments you’ll need.
If you prefer cooking and dining alfresco, head out to the covered deck. It’s furnished with a gas grill and a dining table with chairs, and the view of the mountains is spectacular. What’s more, the yard is fenced in, good news if you’re vacationing with your kids or dogs.
Although the hot tub of Christi and Don’s Nuthouse is indoors, as you luxuriate among the bubbling waters you’ll feel as if you’re out amongst the trees, thanks to the picture windows. At night you can gaze up at the stars through the skylight—what a wonderful way to end an action-packed day!

The house was open and great for a family. The kitchen was very poorly stocked; no baking pans/sheets, not enough cooking utensils and not enough silverware. The owner needs to update/replace many rusty sinks. The decor could use updating but the rusty sinks are less than desirable. Also there is no heat in the lower level where two bedrooms are located. The management company is amazing. They were attentive to things we needed and very easy to work with. Bottom line, we would use the agency again but choose another location until Updates are made.

This was our second time here. We had a little different assortment of family this time. But it was all great. Twin beds would be nice in some of the bedrooms when there’s children.

Nice location and home. Hot tub didn’t work and pool table and sticks were in disrepair. Cute house. Good access and parking. Kitchen, living room and porch were great. Was quiet and overall a nice place.

My only sugeetion is that a simple retractable rollup shade be put on the deck to block out the late afternoon sun

We generally enjoyed the house. Some bathroom and bedroom doorknobs wouldn't lock or latch properly. A fenced yard with No gate is useless. Some blinds were inoperative. The light fixture above the tub in the hall bathroom leaked after the rain Tuesday night. So basically a few fixes are needed to make this nice house better. Having the hot tub in the master bedroom is awkward. But it is broken anyway. Also I didn't see the 2 step sunken living room mentioned in the ad and was a problem for our 8 year old in a wheelchair chair. We made do and our family had a good visit in beautiful Ruidoso.
