A great place to stop en route. Dave is a great host and the huge pizzas were delicious. The room was comfortable for four people and the shower worked well.

At first glance we weren't sure about the area, but we felt relaxed and peaceful when we got there and met the owners. We took a nice walk around the small town. It was nice to be able to walk across to the restaurant and order something after a long day of driving.
The pizza wasn't as great as we were hoping and it took quite a long time to make it. But it wasn't terrible, and we still ate a lot of it.

It was all good, very lovely place to stop over when traveling from Jozi to Cape Town
Load shedding, but that is a problem all over South Africa :)

Located conveniently along the route between KZN or Johannesburg and Cape Town, 3 Darling St Hanover proves to be an invaluable rest stop amidst the lengthy journey, with just around 700 kilometers left to traverse. Whether embarking on the road trip towards Cape Town or returning from it, this oasis offers a welcome respite.
Hospitality at 3 Darling St Hanover is truly exceptional. Dave, the proprietor, epitomizes the perfect host: readily available, affable, and yet discreet, ensuring guests feel attended to without intrusion. The culinary offerings further elevate the experience, with standout pizzas that tantalize the taste buds, complemented by an enticing alternative menu catering to various preferences.
Having explored other accommodations in Hanover, I can confidently assert that 3 Darling St surpasses them all, setting a new standard of excellence in hospitality and comfort.
While the stay at 3 Darling St was brief, it proved to be ideal for an overnight stop. I understand the significance of food and beverage sales for the establishment's revenue, yet I couldn't help but notice that the prices of the menu items could be slightly adjusted. Particularly, the cost of the lamb chops struck me as high, considering the locality's reputation as a hub of sheep farming.

A comfortable, friendly guesthouse to stay at. Pizzas are amazing. Easy to find. Hosts are amazing and helpful. Near to a lovely church, which you can walk to if you arrive before sunset. Would recommend for a place to stay on your way to or from Cape Town as it is exactly halfway to Johannesburg.

When we arrived, the host greeted us by name and was very friendly and welcoming. The place was clean and comfortable and the perfect halfway spot on the way to Cape Town. They have the biggest pizza's that are perfect for hungry travellers. We will definitely book there again on our next trip :)

It was a convenient stop on the way back to Johannesburg
It is in a poor rural town South Africa so it was wasn't a Ritz but it was comfortable enough for the layover

Shower rose leaked at the joint.

Arrived 6 pm, was met by Dave immediately. He showed me my room and met me for a beer in the bar within 5 minutes. Had great conversation in the bar, with a superb pizza. Enjoyed the company as travelling for work. Shower was powerful and hot, which is always great.
The only very small thing, is the wooden floors in my room creak a bit. Would not worry me at all, but I got up twice to use the toilet in the night and was worried the creaking could be heard by my fellow guests. As stated, this is a small thing and only saying it as constructive advice, but I am sure it actually did not bother anubody !

A modern bathroom with excellent hot shower after a day of travelling!
The mattress was too soft for our comfort and needs in our opinion to be replaced. Unfortunately we missed the pizza previous reviewers raved about as it was Sunday evening and it was closed.

Great warm welcome
Room was lovely and big, comfy blanket on a cold night
Meal at the bar was excellent. Pizza I ordered was well larger than I expected and really tasty
If there was to be a complaint it would have been addressed with the owners. I have none to report and would def stay again.

I liked the character of 3 Darling Street Guest House, the friendly very accommodating reception. It was easy to find and a comfortable place to stay over. It was very cold in Hanover that night and there were two heaters in the room and electric blankets on the bed, which helped make it comfortable in the cold.
I would have appreciated a slightly later check-out time. I arrived late in the evening, and check-out time was 9am. But that was not a huge issue.

Hanover is mid-way between CT & JHB. The facility is adequate, but feel that it has not been maintained to standards of the past (20 years ago) - but I can understand that it is maybe not used very much. It is just a room and it is clean, but care has not been taken to make it really comfortable. The curtains don't match - a little thing which could easily be remedied. Just a little care could improve the overall experience.
The bath towels were so old they didn't dry the body! The bathmat didn't look/feel very hygenic, though it is probably practical for the owners and, as we all realise, money is always an issue.

A cute little stay just right off the main road. We were welcomed so kindly by the owner. The room and the shower were so great!!!! We weren’t hungry so we didn’t eat at the restaurant they have, but it’s right on the property
