Food was good and fresh - try the ginger tea!
right on the beach - watch the sun rise over the water
Very secluded - great place if you want to stay hidden
Very secluded in the north - not a great place if you want to see all of Zanzibar

We decided to stay in quite a few hotels during our holidays in Zanzibar and Zanzibar Queen Hotel was definitely the best. Starting with staff, food, rooms and ending with the beach. This is the place when you can relax and you know you will be well taken care of. Highly recommended!
The beach is effected by tides but it has also its advantage. You can still swim in the ocean during high tide while you can take part in reef walk arranged weekly by the hotel and see some of the oceans wild life.

Absolutely amazing staff, delicious food, big comfortable rooms and beautiful garden. Perfect place for relaxation including long walks on a beautiful sandy beach. Especially now in the low season it is very peaceful and quiet. I look forward to coming back with my family!
I wish we stayed longer, next time!

Gorgeous tranquil setting; loungers direct on the beach, friendly staff, comfy bed!
Not the hotel’s fault, but an extremely noisy and unaware room neighbour who speaks too loud on the phone on the balcony all afternoon/evening breaking the tranquility
Lighting in the room is a little soft

One of the best hotels we have stayed at since traveling. If you want to stay at an excellent hotel with good food and an extremely quiet area then this is the hotel you need.
The hotel offers a lot of outdoor activities, in the inner courtyard, you can play volleyball, do yoga, enjoy a massage, spa or just enjoy the gorgeous pool. For me, the pool was more than perfect because I am passionate about swimming, and its length is perfect to maintain physical condition when you go on vacation, and the depth is perfect.
The food at breakfast, but also at the restaurant in the hotel, is extraordinary. The menu changes daily, so you can't get bored of what you find here, and something I found interesting is the fact that you have the option to prepare something to your taste in case the menu does not correspond to your dietary plan or if you have other preferences.
The beach is also gorgeous, with sand so fine you fall in love. The hotel has some beds on the beach, but also by the pool, which are very comfortable. The hotel staff was extremely nice to us and very willing to help us with any problem or question we had.
The rooms are also very clean, it is cleaned twice a day, and the bathroom contains more than everything you need for a relaxing vacation where you can forget about everyday worries. The rooms are also equipped with a hair dryer in case you need it.
Being on vacation for my birthday here at the hotel, I was extremely surprised to receive a cake from the hotel staff and to sing happy birthday to me.
An extraordinary first contact with Zanzibar, we definitely want to come back because it is worth all the money.

Booked the private villa with pool, didn’t like that when I was in the private pool a male staff just walked on to property and stopped and stared and then walked through to the beach . Creepy!

Great facilities, wonderful garden and view, quiet with friendly staff. The room was clean and had everything necessary and other facilities were excellent.
The meals in the restaurant were limited and some of the combinations were a bit odd.

very well maintained place - super clean (room service even twice a day), all new&clean, spacious rooms, beautiful exotic garden
great breakfasts (huge variety & high quality of products, try their home-made jam ;))
hospitable & friendly staff, including hotel's lady manager Katarzyna
designed ideally for rest - all around the garden & swimming pool you'll find plenty of idyllic corners (hammocks, swings)
I wish I could enjoy more the stunning white beach & warm ocean; not hotel's fault (and you'll find it in many places on Zanzi) but it's really difficult to move anywhere outside the hotel and not be "assisted" by Masai (and "Masai") sellers; good at least the hotel has great pool and spacious exotic garden

Food as everywhere in Zanzibar is not good, nothing is wrong with food, but eith tuna, lobster and other seafood they should know how to make it better.Othervise in countries where eeafood is not everyday...its better.

We LOVED our stay at the Zanzibar Queen, and we were there for several days. The property is gorgeous - lushly landscaped, with lots of nooks and crannies for privacy and variety (poolfront, beachfront, etc.). The room was beautifully appointed, simple in the best way (organic/local materials, not overcrowded with furniture), with a great mattress and somehow no bugs or mosquitoes anywhere?! Staff was super friendly, attentive without being obtrusive. Daily breakfast was spectacular - varied and delicious, with fruit, eggs, even oatmeal. Staff & management went out of their way to accommodate - extra special thanks to Derek, Abdul, Anithra, Zafarani... whose smiles and special care were so appreciated.

A wonderful resort with a gorgeous beach, good food & friendly staff.
We made a very short notice booking at Zanzibar queen after another hotel didn’t quite meet our expectations and we had to move.
Despite our last minute arrival we were warmly greeted and the staff rushed to make up a newly completed beach bungalow!
The bungalow was amazing. A good size with a lovely garden that looked out straight on to the beach. The shower had wonderful and the mattress very comfortable.
The grounds are beautiful and I imagine they’ll look even better after a year or two. The daybeds and hammocks nestling amongst the trees, the volleyball net & indoor yoga studio all make this place extra special.
Food and drinks are decent, particularly the buffet nights. There’s regular live music during dinner which is very fun and upbeat. The staff are friendly. Special shout out to Anita who was super attentive! :)
The beach was very clean and picturesque with powder sand, loungers and someone regularly taking food and drink orders. It’s very peaceful with a few lowkey (and delicious) restaurants within walking distance.
We were only planning to stay for 3 nights but extended due to the lovely atmosphere and hospitality at this hotel. Special thanks to manager Derek who went above and beyond to make us comfortable.
We’d love to return to the Zanzibar Queen! Bravo!

The whole experience was great!
Very professional and friendly staff!
Amazing rich breakfast, and very good food in general, with a colorful menu changing every day.
Very clean room, with a cleaning service 2 times per day.
I loved the garden, and the different areas you could relax.
Casia and her whole team where always there to support me.
Omar, the driver, made sure to pick me up from the airport, driving to my kitesurfing classes, and being almost as a professional guide, always sharp and in time. With his very good English, told me stories and explained the culture of the Island, the food and Stone Town.

Zanzibar Queen Hotel is a perfect place to stay in Zanzibar. It is located next to beautiful beach in very nice garden. Mrs Kasia and Mr Darek take care to make your stay comfortable, so you can just relax and enjoy your holidays! Hotel staff is always kind and helpful. The restaurant there is also nice and serves tasty dishes. Truly, it's a place where you simply feel good.
