The entire complex, including the large parking area, is walled, and gated with community guard patrol service. La Esquina has beautifully maintained lush grounds that attracts lots of birds for viewing.
La Esquina penthouse has 3000 spacious square feet of indoor/outdoor living. Located on the top/penthouse/3rd floor level(with elevator); the penthouse takes up the entire third floor. . Complete with a private open air/covered dining patio that seats 12+ along with your own private dipping pool right on the private oversized terrace for perfect indoor/outdoor living..
This gorgeous stucco complex has the most beautiful pool in Playa Langosta or Tamarindo - 90 foot garden swimming pool complete with lush tropical plants surrounding, lounge chairs and an outdoor luxury shower. Your condo is professionally furnished, offering 3 large ensuite bedrooms, a large great room for relaxing, a private terrace off of each bedroom with comfy chairs for reading/napping. It also offers a large, open, teak and well equipped, granite kitchen complete with an adjacent BBQ terrace. Barbeque terrace also has table and chairs for four persons, fan and light.This villa also has a laundry room with washer and dryer, and 3.5 full-sized tiled bathrooms. This condo is the full floor and has 3 bedrooms, a nicely appointed kitchen and a fabulous deck. The deck is shaded and has a large table as well as lounge chairs. We spent most of our stay out on the deck! There is a splash pool for cooling off as well as a larger, lovely pool for the condo complex. The location was quiet and located an easy drive away from the active areas of Tamorindo. We rented a golf cart for 6 whiched worked well. There is only one outlet for charging near the parking area so using a gas powered cart might be a better option. The rental coordinator was fantastic and we were able to book travel experiences through her as well as receive information quickly and easily. I would highly recommend this property!

the place is very nice. one of the ladies in our group of six has bilateral total hip implants and the elevator to the penthouse floor was no working while we were there. That made it very difficult for her. The water ran out 3 times during our stay. one of the times the water ran out was from 7pm to 1 pm the next day. Despite the setbacks we enjoyed our visit as much as possible and would recommend the place to others looking for a clean place to stay.

This property was wonderful. Walking distance to a beach with a lovely sunset. Felt safe as it had a locking gate and guards at night. Town is walkable but it’s a bit of a hike but there was a lot of cute restaurants that were close. The space was big and had plenty of room to spread out. Nice kitchen to cook in. Outside area with dipping pool. This was perfect place for a larger group like ours.

What a wonderful vacation home! Our 3-generation family of 6 especially loved the size and arrangement of the rooms, the refreshing plunge pool on the deck, and the stunning sunset views from the roof. The property is well-tended and perfectly situated in a quiet neighborhood just south of busy Tamarindo. We enjoyed walks on both beaches, swims in the lovely pool, and many delicious meals in the neighborhood and in town. Thank you, Janet and Daniela, for your good suggestions and just the right amount of help. We hope to return!

This very attractive 3 bedroom, 3+ bathroom condo was absolutely perfect for our group of 3 couples. Each bedroom came with its own private bath and access to an outdoor patio. Living room and dining room were spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was very well equipped which is unusual. The main outdoor deck is amazing with another large and comfortable dining table, several cushy chairs and chaise longues and a fantastic soaking tub. There is a public access to Playa Langosta beach right across the street. We're not usually "pool people" but the building's pool is very nice so we ended up using it frequently. We enjoyed having sunset drinks on the rooftop deck too. Secure parking put our minds at ease. Last but not least, the location of this building was perfect for us!! Outside of the touristy craziness of Tamarindo but still within walking distance. Playa Langosta is a rocky beach but great for a beach read in the shade of the trees and a nice dip. Tamarindo is better for swimming, surfing, bodysurfing but much more crowded. It was great having access to both.

We arrived in Tamarindo and were taken directly to our home after picking up the key, which was super simple. When we arrived, we found the elevator was out of service, but not really a problem. The walk up was easy, and the home was awesome! Exactly as presented and described. Very comfortable living room and bedrooms.
The home was clean and cool inside, and everything was in order. There were even beach chairs and beach towels for us to use...a cooler, too! That was great.
The beds were comfortable and since all the bedrooms had private baths, all of the guests were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, and the views were great too. We could see the ocean and the pool from our main balcony which made sitting there great. The plunge pool was fun and gave us another way to cool off after a day out exploring.
Oh, and there was plenty of shopping, restaurants and activities close by for us. We did have a golf cart, which is recommended, but not always necessary.
We would recommend the house to anyone looking for a lovely place to stay and still be a reasonable distance from town.

First off, we could not have picked a better host in Janet and especially Daniela. Not knowing the area or what to do or what to plan, it was intimidating but Daniela contacted us immediately after booking. From there, she set up activities, bought us groceries so we didn’t have to stop, set up shuttles and was communicating at all hours. She is a gem! The property had very well written instructions and a great book to read about local restaurants. The site is a penthouse called La Esquina “the corner” but it was a huge spacious location with lush and well groomed landscape l. The pool is dreamy as was the dipping outdoor tub. We didn’t mind that it’s not heated as you will need it coming off a hot day. The cleaning was impeccable and the rooms were gorgeous and well kept. Wood accents everywhere made it a home as we’re all the amenities and furnishings. Nothing was left out. The site also is gated and with private security. The area of Playa Langosta is quiet and the bistro across the street has great food and live music. If you want snacks, wine or other groceries there’s a cute little market right down the street. Tamarindo itself is a 15-20 minute walk. But never fear, Daniela can also rent an electric cart to get around. For picky eaters, the kids loved the Surf Beach club with burgers, street tacos and chicken tenders. Everyone is nice, pleasant and welcoming. Stay here and truly relax in a home away from home.

The condo was wonderful, worked very well for our family of five. Location is close to beach and walkable to town, a real plus for New Year's Eve.

As much as I knew going in that a Costa Rica vacation rental would not be as luxurious as one in the USA, I was a bit surprised upon our arrival by the state of this villa. The website photos do not accurately reflect the wear and tear of the furniture particularly the outdoor patio furniture and the kitchen lights and cabinets. (Very, very old.)
Also, in one of the bathrooms, there was a family of tiny ants residing along the shower stall. Speaking of the bathroom, it was never reflected on the website that we couldn’t flush our toilet paper but instead had to put our toilet paper in a waste basket. (By the way, other tenants on property in different rentals could indeed flush their toilet paper.)
Within the house the wi-fi was slow and was not accessible in one of the back bedrooms. Would not recommend this Wi-Fi for remote work purposes. Owners definitely need some upgrades to this villa including key code entry as other units which we saw had upgrades.
This isn’t specific to our rented villa, but building maintenance is definitely lacking. For example, while I was in the elevator the doors would not open, and I was stuck during the 90 degree heat. Also, the lounge chairs around the community pool were so poorly worn and aged. Also,, very spotty wi-fi around the pool area. One positive the pool was lovely.
Local property management responded to issues but repairs within unit not done.
Would I recommend this villa? I would have to say no.

We had visited Tamarindo in the past, staying at one of the hotels. This unit was perfect for us this time since we were travelling with my adult son, my adult daughter, and her boyfriend, 3 bedrooms was just what we needed. Love the fact that it wasn't in the middle of town, but everything was within walking distance (groceries, beaches, downtown stores). We enjoyed the communal pool as well as the private one on our floor. Was nice to connect to other expats renting from the same building. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed being close to the restaurants and shops in Tamarindo but away from the crowds. Langosta beach is beautiful and a very short walk away. Howler monkeys came past the condo daily. The local restaurants in Playa Langosta are all fantastic. Although Tamarindo is certainly walking distance, the heat made it difficult so renting a golf cart was very handy.

Spring Break
Traveling with children to new countries is a great education for them to learn the world but can be challenging- this villa was perfect for that. The place was an awesome extension of teaching our kids to embrace another culture while still feeling safe and comfortable. Very clean and well appointed, it was a very short walk to a great beach to explore and watch sunsets. Beds were fantastic. Short walk to an outdoor-ish sports bar (which was so yummy) and kept the kids entertainted with games. Town was a quick golf cart (or nice walk) ride away and has AMAZING food all over. Pool was really pretty for after the beach. The few slight hiccups we had with minor things (wasn't given the safe key type of thing) was very quickly addressed by the owner and management company to ensure our stay was successful. And it was. Highly recommend this place, people are so friendly, awesome food and a rich and vibrant culture surrounds you.

Near Tamarindo, Great Stay
This property was perfect for our stay near Tamarindo. It was close to every thing we needed. Right across the road from the sandy beach; perfect for watching sunsets, long morning beach walks and dips to cool down. It was 3 minute drive to Tamarindo or a quick walk; close to fabulous restaurants, shopping, groceries & Tamarindo beach another spot to swim or watch the sunsets. The pool was lovely: a great spot to enjoy the sun, cool down or have an evening dip. The actual condo was well laid out with each bedroom having their own bathroom & private patio, spacious living space & we used the main patio to gather & it was so wonderful to have our own private cool water plunge pool. Would recommend this property !

Spacious and beautiful
We stayed with our family of 8 in this condo. It was very roomy and each room had its own bathroom and felt private--it would be great for couples traveling together as well. There was space to gather and play games together (there are some to share in the condo, so fun!) They also had 2 boogie boards and beach chairs as well as a cooler to use at the beach. We loved eating on the patio and the small dipping pool was an added bonus. This was one of ten condominiums in a complex. The pool was beautiful and refreshing and even during the busiest week of the year, it was not crowded.
The condo was very clean and well taken care of and we were offered a mid-week cleaning if needed. The kitchen had everything you could need. It even had a BBQ.
Janet was the property manager and she was very helpful. She gave me contacts for surfing lessons, the golf cart, and private transportation when we wanted to do some adventuring outside of Tamarindo.
I'm going to try and answer all the questions I would have asked about this property before booking.
BEACH: The condo is across the street from a very nice beach. At low tide, there is plenty of space, but at high tide it was harder to navigate. I didn't see swimming. We loved watching the sunsets from this beach and the condo roof! Tamarindo Beach is much bigger and is about a ten minute walk away. It is perfect for surfing, boogie boarding and swimming. We had surf lessons at the Playa Langosta Beach Club and they were wonderful!
TRANSPORT: We didn't rent a car, but we rented a golf cart one day and that was super fun and helpful! It is $55-$85 per day. The temps are pretty hot and walking in the middle of the day was bearable, but not pleasant. Walking at night wasn't a problem at all. There is a grocery store about 6 minutes walking, but it is very small. The larger grocery store is on the edge of Tamarindo and we drove the Golf Cart there. Walking would have been much too far. We did book a private driver for the day to go hike Rio Celeste and see Llana de Cortes waterfall.
FOOD: There are plenty of great restaurants in Tamarindo, but it is a short walk to get there. It didn't bother us, but if you aren't very mobile, you may want to drive into town. The closest grocery store is the same distance.
If we were traveling to Tamarindo again, I would definitely stay here. I liked that it wasn't right in the town--it felt quiet and secluded. It had all the amenities you could want. Beautiful!

Very nice property ... but
This is a beautify appointed and furnished condo in a well maintained building. That said we had a few minor issues; 1) In some of the descriptive material the location is described as a 5 minute walk to Central Tamarindo - it is actually a 15 to 20 minute walk; 2) it is true that the beach is a 5 minute walk ... but the beach in that area is very rocky and unusable except for viewing the ocean and sunset; 3) When we arrived the private soaking tub on the deck was so low on water that it was not usable and there is no apparent way to fill it; 4) The unit has a music system with individually controllable speakers in all rooms - but there were no instructions and even though I am very technically competent - I could not figure out how to use it. - all TV is Spanish language including CNN; 5) The toilet in the master bath worked poorly when we arrived ... then failed. All that said - still an excellent rental.

Wonderful family vacation!
This villa was perfect for 6 adults and 2 small children, 4 & 6 yrs. of age. The beach is just steps away, approx. 5 mins. The private dip pool on the patio was a great "kid sitter", kept them occupied for many hours. The "large" pool is also very nice, lots of hidden nooks for private conversation and several Jacuzzi areas. The kitchen is VERY well stocked with every size pot, pan, etc., that you could possibly need. We prepared many meals and never missed anything. The gas grill is also nice and in excellent condition. It grilled our tuna that we caught to perfection! There is a small grocery store just blocks away and several restaurants within easy walk. I would definitely recommend this property.

Quiet spot, close to Tamarindo
We enjoyed the space and location of this property. The beach was an easy walk across the street. There was one beach chair provided at the house, a few more would have been nice. Our family of 5 was able to spread out in the condo, which was nice. While we didn't do much cooking other than breakfast, the kitchen was well equipped. We loved all of the outdoor spaces as well. It was our first time in this area and we didn't know how busy the town of Tamarindo was. We were glad the location of this condo was far enough away from the chaos but only about a 5 minute drive (or less) to get into town. We walked to the pizza place down the road as well as the sports bar around the corner where we were able to catch a Chiefs game-- both were great spots I would recommend. The wine/cheese shop down the road was great, we didn't eat there but they serve sandwiches and other light fare that looked good. The info in the book at the condo was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this condo. The only negative was having to find the property management place to check in and they have to physically inspect the unit before you leave, which was also a little odd and inconvenient but otherwise a great place to stay.

Spacious condo in ideal Tamarindo location
We LOVED staying in this condo during our Christmas trip to Tamarindo. We stayed for 5 days and the apartment is very spacious. A huge living room/dining room/kitchen area looks out onto a very large terrace where there are lounge chairs, a great outdoor table to play cards or have a meal and the hot tub is located as well. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and we made use of the washer and dryer as well. Every morning, we took the short walk into town to have coffee and breakfast. The location is idea because it is far enough away from the noise of the center of town, but not too far that you can't walk or rent a bike. We would definitely return!

Beautiful, spacious, safe, clean, and AC that works! We went during the "rainy season" and didn't have more than a few drops of rain. And we enjoyed that the town was lively and happening, but not at all PACKED. The condo was a decent walk from town for our 7 year old, but we rented a golf cart for the week and had a blast. The place was almost too big for the 4 of us, but so nice for the kids to have their own room. Would be perfect for 6 people.

Our family of 7 stayed at this beautiful property for 10 days! The pictures do not do this property justice! Great, secure complex! The unit is fully stocked with everything you could want or need. This condo is spacious and clean and has the best stocked kitchen than any other VRBO we've stayed at. There were two couples in our party and having a third would have been very comfotable as well. The roof was a beautiful spot to watch the sun set. The deck furniture was very comfortable and we loved drinking our coffee while reading our books every morning.
Langosta Beach was just down the path across the road, but there are no beach chairs to rent on this beach. The condo had one folding beach chair, so it would be nice if there were a few more. The pool area was beautiful.

A great place for 3 couples to share!
Very spacious! Exceeded our expectations. Plentiful kitchen supplies. The pool was beautiful and short walk to the beach.The monkey parades were added entertainment.
