Reception was eventually fine but there was noone present when we arrived. The hotel was tired and our potentially pleasant room needed redecoration.
Breakfast was fine and served by a very pleasant lady.

I had a larger room than expected. The price was reasonable. The room was clean and tidy. Had the use of a bath instead of shower only. Bed was comfortable. Had a nice stay.
No complaints.

Lovely sea view, good sized room. The staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful.
Be warned it’s quite a tall, narrow building so you may have to walk up lots of stairs, we didn’t mind too much but might be a struggle for some. Also a bit of a walk to town but in a nice quiet area next to the sea.

Die super Lage zum Strand. Nur einige Minuten Fußweg zur Einkaufsstraße. Das Frühstück war gut. Continantal, also kein full englisch Breakfast.
Es wäre super gewesen, wenn ein Fön vorhanden wäre. Oder eine Steckdose in Nähe des Spiegels. Und weniger Plastik, Also Gläser fürs Zähneputzen oder richtige Metallöffel in den Tassen.

Clean comfy big family room. Great for 4 friends to stay in. Good location to beach and places to eat.
Take out breakfast on one morning then sat in for next.
Poor shower. Minimal water flow!

Old house nice setting with the lawn at the back
Cheap.
House quite old and old fashion stairs quite difficult. Bedding cleaned but not ironed

Location has character and is conveniently close to the tunnel to France.
The shower gave very little water and the beds were uncomfortable. The breakfast was a bit minimal.

The bed was squeaky.

Good location near the promenade, very nice and helpful staff, clean room and nice breakfast.
Nothing to do with the property however there’s a problem with parking near the hotel. We arrived late and had nowhere to park my car. I wasn’t aware this might be an issue when booking.

Nice spacious room. Helpful staff. Great stay while passing the Euro Tunnel.

Wonderfull location on the cliffs! Near beautifull cliff-park, beach and boulevard. Quiet and lovely neighbourhood. Large and nice familyroom.
Matrasses in our room were old. A few years ago, we were also here and it was the same then. For us it's o.k. for one or two nights. But probably not for everyone...Maybe by now it's time to start replacing them?

The location was easily accessible by bus from the railway station. I don't drive, so I use public transport. There was a Tesco convenience store five minutes walk away. The area is a small estate of 150 year old listed buildings in good repair and quite impressive. There is a private garden area behind the row of houses, and the Leas cliff top walking area is beyond the garden. It was quiet at night - no noisy traffic or noise from people leaving pubs. The breakfast was mainly cold - cereals, yoghurt, cold meats, but I was easily able to obtain porridge every morning from the very pleasant kitchen staff. I had a "comfort" room, which was more expensive than the "budget" rooms. A double bed with duvet, a very adequate pine chest of drawers, touch sensitive bedside lamps and a very nice shower room with a large shower space. two shower heads. and plenty of room. The bathroom fittings were modern and immaculately clean. The hotel provided a bath sheet, very fluffy and thick, which I liked.
A little bit of neglect perhaps? The front door was old and shabby and I felt sorry for it! I daresay as it's a listed building they can't go to Wicks and just buy a new door. It would probably need to be bespoke and very expensive. There IS a lift - but it is clearly broken and out of use. I expect the cost of replacement is pretty prohibitive. It's a tall building with four floors - I would not like to have to carry luggage to the top floor because of the lack of a lift. A very kind staff member carried mine up to my room for me.

Staff, location, lovely towels
Uncomfortable bed, mattress has had its day!. Limited facilities, hairdryer, iron etc. Staff not always on site to access extras. Limited and old coffee sachets in room. 2 cheap plastic cups, no glasses

Lovely room with sea view; value for money; perfect location; kind and helpful housekeeping staff.
One or two more electric sockets would have been welcome.

Far too hot and stuffy.

Nice hotel. Location is idea. we booked the sea view room, that's even better.

the room was large
that on Friday night I couldn't sleep because two drunk men were in and out of the building taking very loudly and up and down the stairs. this went on from 12 midnight until 3am. I had to check out the next morning so was very tired. It was disappointing.

The location was great for our trip on the Eurotunnel the next morning. Was easy to find a parking space nearby. Easy walk down to to the harbour for our fish and chip tea.
The room was plenty big enough for the 4 of us with a double bed and 2 singles and was very clean.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable and could do with new mattresses and the bathroom could do with a spruce up and new shower. When we first entered the premises we were a bit worried about what it would be like as it isn't the most welcoming reception, although the man that greeted us was very friendly.

Filthy dirty beds & room !!!
Dirty nappy’s in hall way outside other rooms
We slept on towels and used them as blankets so we didn’t have to touch the sheets and get in the bed it was shocking !!!
We booked this hotel as we were getting euro tunnel the next day for our holiday the place needs shutting down
