Nothing too be honest.

The location is nice, looks good from the outside
The smell, super smelly rooms. Reeks of cigarettes. Toilet smell was even worse. We didn’t stay there longer than 5min, were worried our clothes would soak in the smells…!

Bed was a bit small
Elevator not working

On my arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome the rooms were clean and well-appointed, just as I expected. The breakfast was super, and the Hotel looked refurbished and had comfortable new facilities.
I like every little bit of my stay in this Hotel

The manager & staff made us very welcome and we were delighted with our room which was upgraded to a sea view free of charge. The room was clean and well furnished and the beds were very comfortable. We were also given a quiet room as requested. This hotel is in an amazing position up on the Leas in Folkestone and the price per night was exceptionally good value. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be returning when we next visit Folkestone. Thank you :)
There wasn't anything to dislike!

Mooie locatie en het personeel was erg vriendelijk!
Overal is er een likje verf over gegaan en het ziet er netjes uit.
De badkamer was erg klein de wc stond scheef omdat de planken van de vloer scheef liepen. De douche is ook erg klein!

He changed our room at the drop of a hat. Very accommodating.
Not enough pillows. Only 2 for a double bed.

The staff were very nic and helpful
More selection for breakfast

I loved the building and the interior
The breakfast could be better

Staff made the place what it is, everyone was friendly, it's close to the beach and train station and a local supermarket. The bed was comfy.
The only thing that I wasn't happy with was that you can hear all your neighbours, I could hear people snoring through the walls.

the room itself was not clean, I asked for a room with a bath, however the path was peeling of and has mould. single glazed windows meant its noisy and cold. on my second day, water started coming through the bathroom ceiling on my stuff! had to move rooms. didn’t get much of an apology. then the fire alarms started going of! lots of random young people hanging around on front door which was quite intimidating. I could go on….
I felt unsafe, dirty as it wasn’t clean, tired as couldn’t sleep due to noise.
2.8
It was accommodating, the staff was really helpful, and the location was convenient
WiFi trouble. 4 options and none of them were stabile, and kept breaking up.

None

Good location and parking on site. Also, in house bar
Is tired. Stayed approx 2016 and still looks the same. No investment in improvements, even over COVID

Handy location.
Cheap and nasty. I had to ask for a different room as the shower in the given room didnt work. There was a piece of underwear or something under the bed. WiFi doesnt work. Noise from the corridor and other guests was too loud.
2.8
There was no cooked breakfast just a very basic buffet
Broken furniture, leaky tap, mould on window frames
Lots of stairs and no lift to that part of the building
2.8
The room was very basic & the shower room was messy, cracked sink & shower only trickled out
2.8
The view and internet connection was good.
The hot water needed a lot of time to come, the bathroom ventilation was missing, the bed cover was very thin.
2.8
Wifi did not work and in my room, even mobile phone had no coverage.
2.8
I liked the location. The park and seaside are very close.
The check-in was late 30 min. because the room was not prepared on time. No wi-fi internet connection in our room. We reported about that, but nothing improved. Poor view through the window (scaffolding).

We arrived at the Carlton and were given keys to a sea view room, £250.00. 3rd floor , no lifts broken down. Once in the room, shocking. Not been cleaned or hovered, coffee or something spilt all over dresser and side table, shower head broken , toilet handle hanging off and curtains mouldy as hell. Spoke to reception and moved to another room. This room still not hovered or cleaned , toilet handle actually broken off. Left wife to sort this out. Next morning, the breakfast included in the deal was meant to be a continental. All they had was Ham, cheese, bread, cereal, yogurt, tea and coffee. That was it. 4 days stay , if this was the only hotel in folkstone I’d stay in hythe , dirty, grotty. Basically crappy.

I often stay in different hotels for work and because I like to move from place to place. I try to be objective every time. Since I rented a car, parking was important to me. At the same time, I wanted the hotel to be located on the seashore. This hotel met both criteria. I also think that the administration employee should be noted, it was pleasant.
You can list the cons for a long time, believe me, there are plenty of them, BUT let's not forget that the price is never low just like that, so you need to evaluate the price / quality ratio. The hotel is located in a dilapidated building. You don't need to be an engineer to understand that a little more and the house will go for demolition or major repairs. Mold on the ceiling, the floor is crooked, the doors are broken, the beds are old, the chair is wobbling, the elevator... etc. However, if you consider the hotel simply as a place where you can get a shower and sleep, then it will do. I would rate it at 8 if the price were £ 10 lower.

You get what you pay for it served its purpose for 1 night

Coming from the hotel.
No cooked breakfast. No beer. Hotel was very dark. No hot water in the bedrooms. Shower was rubbish. Beds were very uncomfortable. No sky TV. Absolutely crap.

Great value for money, great location just yards from where i was working.I believe i stayed there several years ago.
A bit worried about parking my van in the secluded car park round the back.

The 1 staff member was fantastic! Unfortunately I couldn't deal with the quality of the rooms/hotel so I moved to a different hotel after the first night.
Very outdated, very noisy rooms, paint on the sheets after changing rooms, damp on the walls, pictures aren't the reality.
