A very pleasant place to stay on the coast

This hotel was small and friendly—excellent facilities with spacious rooms and a kitchenette, parking, very clean and perfect for what we needed. Right across from the grocery store in town. We were there to go fishing, and this was a good way station between rivers.

Convenient, comfortable and nicely presented with a friendly owner on site.

The motel is well-placed for the Moeraki Boulders which was the purpose of my visit. The room was warm and well equipped with a kitchenette including a stove and microwave, and located next door to a supermarket which is open until late. The room consisted of a lounge/dining area and a separate bedroom and bathroom. If you don't like cooking there is a hotel with a bistro located opposite.

This is an older motel but has been kept in good condition and so there are no negatives I can think of. The ultimate test is whether or not I would stay here again and the answer is yes, I would.

Toilet cistern leaking and water kept running - a little annoying when trying to sleep

Great size, handy to pub for dinner and easy to take a walk from down to the beach lor back towards the rural side of town

Unfortunately the bed was not great, they need a refresh.

Dave the host was really friendly and welcoming. It was warm and comfortable with everything we needed. Free flowing soap in the shower is always welcome. Next door to the four square and across the road from the bistro which also do great takeaways.

Great place but a few safety concerns

Lovely host that allowed us to check in early. Comfortable beds and room.

Shower ran scalding hot only so was unusable. Smoke alarm had been removed due to heaterissue. Heater still in use though it looked damaged

Messaged ahead about the dog and they said yes. Got there and said she wasn't allowed in the room and had to sleep in the van in the freezing cold!!! Booooo 👎 either pet friendly or not 🤷‍♂️

Perfect location

Location very good, opposite tavern, fish and chips, next door is supermarket, everything just there, 5 minutes drive to moeraki boulders.

We only stay for one night so nothing we didn't like

Convenient, tidy wee unit - spot on for our needs

heater was on - sop cosy on arrival mid evernig in the cold outside conditions

When I wen tot pay I was asked had I sorted the heater. It was running so I said yes. When we went to restart it......Mmmmm. I even went on line ot find instructions. Only to realise there was a switch and button on the back wall that ran the heater. Perhaps a note in the info folder and or meassge on the swith saying 'heater'm would have be helpful
