Perfect place to meet people and discover Xela. Great staff who help you with everything!

Great location, very friendly staff, great value for money!

Just fine.

Kitchen area. Beds weren't bunk beds. My room was big & open. Karaoke.

There's a few people from nearby central American countries just living in the hostel for months. Drinks in the bar should be cheaper.

Great vibes

Amazing value for money and the owner, Tom was really nice to hang out with. I loved how spacious the dorms felt and the kitchen and rooftop bar were very well set up. They help you loads with your plans too and even have a clear website with all the info.

They could maybe use another bathroom and provide cover from the rain - when it poured down, you got soaked when trying to use the toilet.

The staff were really friendly and you're getting what you pay for!

To echo others, it's not a great place to get a good night's sleep before a hike, mattress is lumpy, street noise is loud and the bathrooms are on a diff floor than the dorms

Amazing place!

This place is amazing, very nice building, cozy bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, clean. The staff is kind and always willing to help, their website with all the trekking information is super! They have a beautiful terrace with nice activities every night.

Central, chilled hostel

Great value, central location and comfortable beds. nice to have the terrace and bar upstairs. Staff are helpful with questions about tours and walks.

The 6 bed dorm is on a main road and earplugs are essential, but it’s pretty quiet during the night. The kitchen is good but hard to fit many people in there to cook and eat. Not really any spaces to sit other than the terrace which sometimes isn’t open.

Nice place to stay when you are in Xela

Great location close to central park, lovely owner with great recommendations and very helpful, nice kitchen and rooftop terrace with views over city.

Very few communal bathrooms and showers, only 2.

Nice, friendly place to stay in Xela.

the owner, Tom, was incredibly helpful about organizing trips and giving information on things to do. He was also very nice. The terrace overlooking the city was lovely and the place had a very nice vibe overall.

it could be a bit noisy at night. we didn’t find the upstairs bar to be too much of a problem, but the street noise was kind of intense and there’s nothing anyone can do about that. just bring earplugs.

A dream home in xela

Kasa Kiwi Hostel is amazing. Tom is an incredible guy, so kind and helpful and really helps to connect guests to ensure that people have a friend to visit attractions with (if they want). The kitchen area and balcony is amazing, lots of storage space for all the guests to store their food. 2 water filters available for drinking water. The roof terrace is beautiful and comfortable and becomes the only roof top bar in xela from 3pm Tuesday-Sunday. Kareoke Tuesday and Thursday a lot of fun but finishes at 9.30 so not a problem for getting to sleep. The rooms are large and comfortable, lockers available with plenty of space. Towels available for rent. Lots of tours on offer from hostel via Monteverde which is a great tour company. Tajumulco overnight tour is a must, so incredible. I loved xela so much and this hostel!

I didn't like the purified water, it had a weird taste. The price for renting a towel is more than 2x higher than in other hostels.

Location is great and staff is very helpful. The rooftop terrace is nice and the view is amazing. Beds are comfortable.

Stayed in a room with shared bathroom. The room was clean, but there are only 2 showers for the whole hostel. The facilities are cleaned daily, but since there are so many people the toilets and showers were often not clean.

Really cool and beautiful hostel with vibrant rooftop bar. Has great views. Only stayed one night but room was very clean. Kitchen looked well equipped and very social feel. Great price!!

Showers and bathroom are in the outside area which can be inconvenient as Xela is pretty cold.

The perfect base for chilling and exploring Xela

Wonderful base in Xela with beautiful views from the roof terrace! The beds (individual, not bunk beds) are comfy and the showers are hot. The kitchen is good and the filtered water tastes delicious. Quiet but central location. Not a party hostel but easy to socialise. There's karaoke at the rooftop bar Tues and Thurs but they stop by 10, a nice way to meet local people and sing if you want to! Absolutely the highlights are Tom and Mary Lou who run the place and have tons of tips on how to explore the area. They can organise transfers, volcano hikes, hot springs etc. I loved it here!

Very good

Comfortable bed and warm room (6 bed dorm) compared to others. Nice, friendly and helpful staff. Rooftop bar with a great view but no party hostel. Easy to meet other backpackers.

There could be more common toilets and showers.

- the bathrooms are outside so if you have to go to the toilet in the middle of the nights it’s very annoying to wear your jacket.

Nice hostel with great hiking advice

Tom is full of information on how to do hikes both with tours and individually. Rooftop terrace is also great. Comfy beds.

Most people are doing hikes so there is a lot of movement around the rooms from.about 4am - not Kiwi's fault though. Bar can be a bit loud (but closes at 10 so not a big problem)

Great place, nice rooftop with Burger and beers. Top spot. Recommended to stay here.

Wide and open rooftop. Great burger und Beer there on the rooftop.. cool Music. It's a great spot to explore the town. Super friendly owner, nice to talk to him, has great tips.

In the kitchen the things can be renewed. Old used stuff like plates, cups, pan .. but still nice to cook here self. ..

Very friendly staff. Niche roof terrace. Rooms quiet, except see below. Hot shower.

If the chairs on the roof terrace are moved, it is extremely noisy in the rooms below.

Spacious dorm with big and comfy beds. Good kitchen and nice roof terrace. Staff was happy to help.

Bathrooms were downstairs and quite basic, electrical terminal block was just hanging above the showerhead, apparently it works but I felt a bit unsafe about it.
