A gorgeous, quaint bed and breakfast. I felt like a queen in little England!

Loved everything about my stay at La Grande Villa - from the moment I arrived, the staff were so friendly and helpful. I arrived to a pair of slippers and coffee! The room was gorgeous and the bed so comfortable. Highly recommend!

I was lucky to get a last minute discount, making the property more affordable for a solo traveller.

Magnífico hotel estilo colonial a buen precio

Zona muy tranquila, a unos pocos minutos andando del centro de la ciudad. Te sientes trnasportado en el tiempo, con todas las comodidades. Habitación superespaciosa y cama muy cómoda. Cenamos muy bien una de las noches. Personal muy atento y amable.

Welcoming, comfortable spot closer to the centre.

Good location in a quiet area a shirt walk from the city centre and Victoria Park. Wonderful staff, especially the tall, smiling chef for whom nothing was too much trouble (including driving us into town in the hotel's tuk-tuk early one morning).

Hotel de 5 habitaciones excepcional. Desayuno más que excelente, habitaciones elegantes todo forrado en madera y muy equipadas y atractivas. Buena ubicación tranquila pero cerca del centro y el bonito parque Victoria, y por si fuera poco Farhan, el director del hotel no puede ser mejor persona: muy atento, profesional, agradable, educado, flexible, útil, correcto y en definitiva, realza y revaloriza un alojamiento ya de por si excepcionalmente atractivo. Más que recomendado, no te lo pienses pues no lo olvidarás. Mi hotel preferido en Sri Lanka. Volveré y espero poder encontrar de nuevo al excepcional equipo, sobretodo Farhan. Pocas personas de tal categoría humana he conocido en un hotel como Farhan. Un verdadero placer de experiencia existencial. Así da gusto viajar !! Mil gracias por realzar mis recuerdos al viajar.

Hotel de lujo a actualizar.

Muy bien situado en NuwaraEliya, amabilidad del personal, la bienvenida, la pequeña terraza-jardín.

Exceso de madera en el mobiliario, descuidado y antiguo; cojines también en exceso y los principales, descosidos, poco higiénicos. Bañera de hidromasaje de villa 1 con manchas de barniz y deslucida, la de la villa 2 muy correcta.

Good spatious room , good bed but too much wood all around

Very friendly staff, great service. Nice quiet hotrl, but boring.

Food good but not special nor exciting. Nervous making floorcovering and wallpaper. No alcohol only beer in a sneaky way: no liquor permission. But yet available, though not officially. Direct neighbourhood of the hotel ugly. So never to go back there.

Charming place in the hills

Loved our stay here! Despite arriving early we were warmly greeted and offered tea. The room was spacious, very comfortable, and had lots of extra touches we appreciated. It was very clean and there is a charm about the place that fits the look of the building. We had fun mooching around the hotel in the provided slippers and playing pool on an evening. The spa bath was nice to relax after a day of hiking. No fan or a/c in the room but it was the perfect temperature to sleep very deeply. There was a choice for breakfast and the food was plentiful and delicious. Great location within walking distance of town, bus station, restaurant, park, etc. Would definitely return.

Excellent overnight stay at La Grande Villa

Super location with excellent spacious rooms. The staff were excellent and so helpful. The rooms were grand and the gardens were very well kept with. The breakfast was lovely and ample.

Kleines royals Hotel mit besonderem Flair

Hier gillt noch, dass der Kunde König ist, denn genau so wurden wir während unseres gesamten Aufenthaltes behandelt. Hierbei schaffte das Personal auch den schwierigen Spagat dahin, dass es nicht aufgesetzt, aufdringlich oder unangenehm wirkte. Auch die Ausstattung des Hotels würden wir als kolonial-royal bezeichnen. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und die Badezimmer mit Dusche UND Whirpool ausgestattet, draußen auf dem Terrasse gibt es Hängesessel. Es gibt verschiedene Frühstücksvarianten und trotzdem wird noch auf individuelle oder spontane Wünsche eingegangen. Der Koch kam (und es handelte sich einfach nur um das Frühstück) aus der Küche um sich selbst zu erkundigen ob es geschmeckt hat. Kleine Vorwarnung: Da das. Hotel komplett mit einem Teppich ausgelegt ist, tauscht man schon an der Rezeption seine Schuhe gegen Slipper ein.

Das Hotel ist nicht mehr ganz neu. Es ist zwar nichts vernachlässigt worden, aber man merkt es ein wenig. Der Spiegel im Bad ging nicht oder wir waren mit den vielen Schalten einfach überfordert. Da viel mit dunklem Holz gearbeitet wurde, muss das Bad bei Benutzung (ans Licht gekoppelt) mit einem etwas lautem Lüfter zwangsentlüftet werden.

An unexpected Gem in the Sri Lankan Mountains

Very attentive, professional and friendly staff in a very comfortable old british Bungalow that only has four rooms. The amazing breakfast can be custom ordered the evening before and can be had in the very well tended-for garden or in the indoors dining room. At least three waiters, two cooks, one gardener and one manager make for perfect Service in quality and speed. We loved our room with jacuzzi and garden terrace as well as the very quiet location close to Victoria park. When we go bsck to Nuwara eliya we will stay in "La Grande Villa" again.

At first we did miss a mosquito net but in fact the electric vaporizer worked perfectly. We were happy with everything

Amazing!

This hotel is a gem--situated in a beautiful area within walking distance to Victoria Lake . Amazing historic charm but comfy bed and spa bathtub. The staff brought me tea in the afternoon and I was able to ride at the turf club nearby. Amazing experience.

Highlight was the spa tub, amazing bed, and tasty breakfast.

The room was spotless, one of the cleanest hotel rooms I have seen. The bathroom and the outdoor patio were spectacular too. Overall, really enjoyed the quiet and calm. The bed was very comfortable.

The staff are amazing, the vibes are like you in home . The chef, the house manager Mr. Ansar and the cleaners and helpers all super good.

A bit over priced, but still okay.

Hotel staff is super friendly, they packed my breakfast cause I had to leave early in the morning. The garden is very sweet like the pictures, but much smaller. Room is spacious. Tuktuk driver who took me to Horton Plains is highly recommended. Special thanks to Ranjith (you can ask the hotel owner to book him)

The location is a bit away from the main road. Cover a a bit dirty. You have to remove shoes every time entering the property, but they don’t give you new slippers. In the evenings there’s loud music and I called reception but nobody answered. My comments is genuine but not sure why it got deleted? If it’s keep happening means it is misleading other guest.

Spacious and very comfortable bed with luxurious feel sheets.

The food was mediocore. For the same amount I am paying, i get more luxurious services in the heart of Colombo. Didn't feel secure as the door is locked by key with no internal latch. A person with a spare key can easily access it.

Good experience in Nuwara Eliya

It’s a beautiful villa surrounded by a nice garden, and the hot tub in the room was definitely a plus.
