We found Hotel Tortuga to be a quiet gem in the hustle and bustle of Cancun's hotel zone. What stood out to us immediately was the rooftop area – a perfect spot for enjoying morning coffees or unwinding with evening cocktails. The staff made us feel right at home with their warm and attentive service. Our room was not just a place to sleep but a spacious retreat with effective air conditioning, essential for the Cancun heat. The view of the lagoon from our room added a peaceful backdrop to our stay. We were thoroughly satisfied with our time at Hotel Tortuga and would recommend it to anyone looking for quality accommodation that balances cost and comfort.

Amazing place, big apartment. Lovely swimming pool with a view.
Expensive rooftop bar.
4.5 / 5.0
The room was fitted with all essentials that make you feel at home, we bought groceries and cooked most meals to save on the overpriced restaurants of the area. There's a convenience store just a few meters away.
The pool area is nice and quiet, next to the lagoon. We could swim and relax with our one year old while enjoying the beautiful view.
The terrace had an amazing view of the sunset and the staff were very helpful and welcoming, yet gave us enough privacy, even though they also live in the property.
They don't serve food, which might come in handy for the first day before you get groceries. We arrived a bit late and tired and didn't want to go for a restaurant, so we ordered via app.
The beach in front of the property is not that nice, unless you're looking for a ferry down to Isla Mujeres, it's full of pesky vendors that don't leave you alone and the beach is not that nice. Also, crossing the road was a bit dangerous, there's no traffic light to let you cross. You're better off taking the bus or an app ride to another of the many other public beaches further east.

Too close to a busy street.
Hot water for only five minutes a day in the shower.

Beautiful views public beach opposite.
Check in and reception did not do the hotel justice. Need to make that more pleasurable an experience. Veryy difficult to get breakfast locally and none served in hotel.

Wow, what can I say about Casa Tortugas, this hotel is exactly what we wanted from our trip to Cancun.
Firstly, the room - the suite was incredible and spacious, it was clean & had an incredible sea view. We were very comfortable there. It was also quite a quiet hotel which provided a nice peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Cancun.
The aircon worked great, as did the wifi, and had all the amenities we needed such as pool towels, toiletries & kitchenware.
The pool is clean, spacious and has great views over the lagoon. The loungers were really comfy too.
Next, the staff. They were so helpful & so friendly. Particularly Ivan, who is a lovely guy and really helpful.
We will recommend this hotel to all our friends
Bed was a little short for my long legs :)

A few steps from Playa Tortuga and the ferry port to Isla Mujeres. Beautiful view of the Lagoon, nice swimming pool. Spacious room with AC in the bedroom.
Reception staff might need more experience. Kitchenette could be better equipped.

This family run hotel is an oasis in Cancun. It’s obvious that it has been built and designed with love and creativity. The comms were clear,
the staff friendly and approachable. After a 10 day tour around the Yucatan peninsula this was a great place to relax and end our holiday.
I do not have a bad word to say about it.

The place is beautiful and welcoming
The rates are a joke. They add fares, bank fees, fake monetary conversion rates and from 480€ initially I paid 650€ in end.

I travel a lot for my job, and I’ve seen a lot of Hotels and Apartments in large cities, holiday destinations everywhere, but Casa Tortugas beats them all. The amazing view, a modern apartment with excellent amenities, a fantastic rooftop bar, lovely staff and a fantastic host in Alex who during my stay tried everything to make it as close to perfection as possible, with great recommendations for restaurants, bars, shops and sights around the area. Casa Tortugas is the perfect location to relax and really switch off, away from the large all inclusive hotels in cancun. A quiet beautiful, and excellently looked after little oasis directly at the lagoon. Hands down the best choice I could have possibly made for my first time in Cancun.
Thank you very much to the whole team and hosts at Casa Tortugas for the amazing time I have had there. I will be back!
Nothing to dislike at the Location

It's reasonably priced and if you know what you are getting into and do some prep you could have a decent budget Cancun holiday here. Right across the road from Isle of Mujeres ferry - we did a great day trip from there. Buses to downtown are frequent and cheap. I really don't understand Cancun and I don't think I'll return but if you rented a car this place could really work as alternative to the giant and very expensive all-in resorts down the road
Our first impression could not have been worse. Try to stock up with food supplies before arrival. Arrived by plane at night and the shop across the road looked like a scene from The Last of Us as guests struggled to get supplies for breakfast. Room was pretty charmless - like something from a witness protection program. I wanted to cry. Next morning things improved when we checked out the pool and the great rooftop bar and terrace. Only restaurant within walking distance is expensive and nothing special.

The hotel was beautiful, nice pool and rooftop.
No breakfast option

The hotel is really nice, the pool is nice with a beautiful and relaxing view. The room was spacious with all the comforts you need. The ferry to Isla Mujeres departs across the street. The owners were available and we appreciated the suggestions for the dinner.
The hotel doesn't have a restaurant and they can't offer breakfast, but they offer coffee in the morning at 8 am, 1d out of 3 we didn't get the coffee. As welcome they give you 1 tea bag, they could have been more generous. The rooftop was open only 1 day. The hotel parking doesn't have many lots.

Great place! The staff is super friendly, the room was nice and clean and after check out we were allowed to leave our bags there until we left to the airport
The location is also good in my opinion as you have a bus stop nearby.

Quiet and tucked away with very private pool but quick easy access to Tortugas beach on the other side of the road. Friendly , helpful staff and lovely rooftop bar for evening sunset drinks.
We liked that there was a basic kitchen which meant breakfast and simple meals were easy to prep. excellent supermarket just a quick bus ride away or you can buy basics at the 7-11 over the road.
Free coffee in the morning was appreciated !

The staff was really nice and accommodating. I lost my AirPods and some other tech gear twice and they found it and returned it to me both times. They're just honest, genuine people. It's also nice to know its a smaller boutique hotel that is family owned and actually has tons of elements in the architecture and design that has family history behind it. Alex ( the son of the owners) did a great job managing the place while his family was out of town. Love my stay!!

A beautiful and serene oasis away from the hustle and bustle. our hosts couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful. The hotel is beautifully and creatively decorated. The pool over looking the lagoon is stunning. our apartment was clean, comfortable, spacious and stylish. Thank you Kristina, Alex and Alex for making our stay so special. I highly recommend this as a place to stay and wish we were staying longer
