El Rocio was so beautiful it was a completely different holiday we are used too the settings were beautiful we will come back again .

Coffee machine not working when we got back on the night. Code for the door did not work well, someone had to let us in.

Nicely decorated, clean rooms at excellent location, close to the waterfront and the centre. Parking was no problem at busy saterday. Airco did not work so I got another room, excellent service and nice staff.
The staff does not speak English (well), but we manged, no problem.

The reception staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The position in the centre of El Rocio was perfect. The free coffee in the afternoon after an excursion was a welcome touch.

Good location, clean and comfortable. And interesting decor
Breakfast could have been better and no facilities to make tea or coffee in the room

Nice little hotel with coffee making facilities. The air con and shower worked fine and my room cleaned daily. Wi fi was ok too, my room was close to the hub.
No real complaints. I never tried breakfast, I didn't really know where to go for it but I was out early birding every day, so I probably wouldn't have taken it anyway.

I was not told beforehand that I had to change the hotel to Palacete, so when I turned up at Arenas there was nobody there at the reception; I had to phone and was told that I had to change hotel. That was a big drag because after having dragged my suitcase through the sand for 1 km I had to drag it once more another 1 km, so I was totally exhausted and a bit annoyed when I came to Palacete. Tha stay was very nice by the way.

Upgraded room with balcony with wonderful views.

Everything was perfect. Beautiful property. spotlessly clean. very helpful friendly staff. Perfect location. 1 min walk to the main area in front of the Church of the Virgin of Rocio/Marsh bird watching points/shops. also in a Sunday there are lots of hirers and pony/horse/cart rides available and many visiting Spanish families. My booking was brilliant value. If I was to visit again this is where I would want to stay.
Nothing

They had free coffee and free tea available all day long. The room and the hotel in general were very clean. Room was comfortable although lacked natural light.
When booking i selected breakfast included but when I arrived the staff said I did not have breakfast include. So we had to pay an extra 7€/person for breakfast (which was fairly good).
There was too much noise from other guests, even at 4 am, specially because our room was in the first floor. Overall the hotel does not have a good noise insulation.

The cleaner at the property was very kind and helpful
The receptionist was very abrupt and rude when we checked in. She simply asked for our ID and gave us a key. She did then show us to a room which was tiny and nothing like we had booked. We explained that this was not what we were expecting and after a phone call with a colleague she did move us to a different room. This was of the correct size and layout but on the ground floor with no real view.
We were told at check in that breakfast was at a different property 10 minutes walk away. This was not information which had been shared before. Breakfast was basic to say the least and there was little choice.

Overall a good experience. Rocio is great and the property was o.k. good value, espacious room. staff were nice.
wifi was very poor, the sheets weren't very clean with some stains.

The hotel / pension is right in the middle of El Rocio village, just few minutes from the lake. Our rooms were spacious enough and the terrace in quadrupal room was very nice for evening sessions. There was a mini fridge in the room to cool the beer.
Nothing realy important. One would expect some English knowlege from the staff in such a touristy place...

The location is good, the showers had good pressure and were hot.
There were very bright lights on the building that shone into our room and kept us awake all night. Also the staff was not very attentive or communicative. The breakfast as well was disappointing. Nothing prepared, just a spread with artificial juice and a coffee making machine.

Breakfast not included
Paid extra to have room overlooking marsh
Email day before arrival to say hotel had changed. As travelling, didn't pick up till arrived at original booking.

room was clean, pressure of hot water in the shower
infos about the place are not complete : the breakfast is in another hotel , several minutes from there . we were there in January and literally FREEZING OUT the whole night: the A/C split worked on 28 degrees all night and was incapable of providing an acceptable temperature ( outside in the morning were 2 degrees ). the bed was prepared with a thin duvet, we had to use a warmer one which was in the wardrobe . the bed was so hard I woke up with a very bad pain in my arm, the pillow absolutely uncomfortable.the bathroom doesn’t have any sort of heating . the room is really basic( no switches for the night lamps ?!). the family who lives downstairs had crying kids , they shout and slam doors. we had workers next door who started at 8 am.the breakfast was UNACCEPTABLE( for the so called buffet they charge €6 each !):nothing was home made , industrial products ,coffee came out cold from the machine , we couldn’t drink it, was like dirty water. I gently asked in Spanish about eggs and the answer was “no”. the bread was not fresh. the breakfast room was very cold . we left after 10 minutes. The attitude of the girl who received us: she seemed very annoyed about having new guests ,totally unfriendly. in booking the description is the Wi-Fi is overall : in the room the devices couldn t even spot the net!!the lady told me to sit in the reception downstairs ( no heating ). I m a host myself and is very, very sad and disappointing to have such bed experience and lack of hospitality.I mean : if you don t want to work in winter, just close and rest, but you can’t let people feel unwelcome. it was our worst experience in Spain over 2 months travel and we just wanted to leave.

Our stay was during off season. Same owners have at least two hotels. Where we were staying, it was just two of us, without any stuff. That wound not be a problem on it self, but the stuff members that met didn't spoke any English. With today's technologies it's not a problem either.
But what was a little bit of a problem. After arrival we noticed that room floors a full of sand. Texted the owner and he showed up in few minutes. He tried to explain that street in the town is just sand, and you broth it yourself while walking in and out. We where in there for half and hour, we walk in the room without shoes, our room was on the second floor at the far reach of the hotel. In the time that we would walk to a room most of the sand would fall off any way.
Floor was dirty when we arrived, just we haven't noticed immediately because, floor tiles where sand color.
In the defence of the owner eventually we were offered another room.
Second misunderstanding where with breakfast. When we arrive lady that came to bring us keys, haven't mentioned it. So I texted them where our breakfast will be. I got the answer that we can get in another hotel of theirs (few minutes away by walking) for few Euros. When we said that breakfast was included in the deal all was fine.

Centrally located, and street parking if you arrive on a quiet day. Reasonably decent breakfast and friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and there is a lot of place to hang your clothes.
Incredibly noisy very late into the night. We were here for 3 nights and 2 of those we could not sleep due to obnoxious groups of guests checking in with rolling suitcases and being very loud, deep into the night, 2-3 AM. I don't understand why the hotel would allow this with other guests trying to sleep, a few people were complaining. The rooms also aren't well venitlated, there was moisture buildup on the windows in the morning. The breakfast is servicable if a bit 'industrial' and is off-site, about 500m away in another property. The bathroom is fairly small and the bedsheets are positively tiny unless you are by yourself.

We stayed on quite a busy weekend so didn't have many options. The room was pretty simple but the bed was comfortable and the shower was fine.
The walls are thin and you could hear everything going on in the building.

Room was clean. Really nice that I had a terrace which was great in the evening.
The only thing not really nice is when the other room next door is occupied you’ll hear almost everything

The location was fantastic in a very beautiful street near the main squares. El Rocío is a quite unique place and well worths a visit even if you don't go there for religion. The recepcionist, Rocío, was very kind. The room was bright and spacious and had a very nice terrace. The breakfast was quite reasonable for the price. Free parking on the street.
Our terrace had four AC units belonging to different rooms and one of them made a very strong noise. We complained to the staff but the property was full and they did't offer us an alternative. We were lucky because the other guests switched off their AC, otherwise we coundn't sleep. The beds could be more comfortable.
