Lovely stay in Hahei

We loved our stay at Tatahi Cove Back Packer! The hostel was lovely and our private room nice and clean, with a double bed. The shared bathrooms worked really well with other guests staying in the hostel and the shared spaces were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was really well kitted out with anything you could need, and we enjoyed the outside areas with lovely views of the gardens. It was a short walk from the beach and steps away from the brewery.

Good place to stay in Hahei surrounded by a nice garden

Well situated near the shop and not far from the beautiful beach, you can enjoy your holiday there - the garden is beautiful and even if the kitchen and dining area are crowded, you can still find a place there. The beds were not so good, but it was clean and you could get fresh towels easily. Kitchen is well equipped just beware that some items did not have careful cooking users.

It was a bit strange that the staff was living with us, cooking in the same kitchen and living in the living room though they have been very friendly after a short time. It should be a 'walking village' but all the tracks (the ones starting from Hahei directly) were gone or closed due to landslides so mostly concentrate on the beach and the small town itself, just keep that in mind. Small rooms but you are in Hahei after all.

The hostel and staff were amazing. There were towels and shovels available for the hot water beach, and the heaters in each room were a great touch. Overall a very friendly, comfortable place to stay!

The walls are thin in some areas, so you can hear what's going on in other parts of the hostel at times, but not majorly so that it was annoying.

The place is very nice and comfortable!! Great location and friendly staff. I was there during the cyclone and everything was fine. We were safe!! I would definitely recommend.

Great location but expensive for a backpackers.

Great location and good hot showers plus nice communal area. Next door to Pour House brew bar with great beers and food.

Expensive for a backpackers with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. We booked a bunk room (nothing else available - not shared) but were disappointed with only 2 PowerPoints and one pedestal fan and no individual lights.

Such a beautiful beach. A lovely stay but too short. Would love to return and try the kayaking.

The location of Tatahi cove was close to shops and the beach. The facilities were good. The owner was very helpful and kind. The gardens were beautiful. The beach was close by and so beautiful.

The location of the accommodation is excellent, the closest accommodation to Cathedral Cove, there is a free parking lot.

Very good

I think the view is really good. The room was clean. Bathrooms could have been better. Rooms had all bunk beds. They were good. I think the price is more compared to our other bookings but not sure if it is because it was at Cathedral Cove

Great location for a good price

Great location, close to beach, Cathedral Cove trail and several meal options. Also the kitchen was very functional and the owners brought me a coffee plunger.

Pretty small rooms. Could have used a few hooks to hang up clothing.

A small but cozy room in a backpacker inn. Shared bathroom and kitchen amenities that are fairly clean. Very central location to food and drink, as well as to the beach and to hikes. The staff are helpful and have shovels to lend you!

The rooms are not air conditioned, so reliant on windows that don’t have screens, allowing bugs in.
