Location was perfect, lots of cultural activities and local cuisines were walking distance. Thank you Petra for your attentiveness and your advices!

From the moment we booked this apartment, it was the best experience we've ever had with a VRBO property! The owner, Petra Fischer, is a renowned documentarian, having produced many documentaries on Mexico. She concentrates on making her guests' time in Mexico City the best it could ever be. First of all, the apartment is lovely, as you can see from the photos. Our group occupied 3 of the 4 available bedrooms. Our view was of the Opera House - stunning with the sun setting behind it. Petra has designed - exclusively for her guests - private guided and non-guided tours. Guests can choose among 23 tours and 7 activities, ranging from an orientation walk through the historic center to the Frida Kahlo circuit to the famous pyramids to massages to private dinners in the apartment. Every one we chose was first-class! Additionally, Petra prepared a list of 18 of her most recommended restaurants in the area, which included which meals they serve (B, L, D), type of food, ambience, phone number and address. Every restaurant we chose was just as described. I can't imagine being a first-time or multi-time visitor to Mexico City and not staying "with" Petra.

Stayed for a few days during the Epiphany of the Lord. Went to the Basilica, Xochimilco and Chapultepec for a Mexico ballet presentation. Everything was amazing. The stay at the suites was pleasant and the owner Petra surprised us with a rosca de Reyes. That was so sweet. Also arrange transportation for us and was available at all times if needed.

I cannot say enough about this wonderful apartment and about Petra, the most extraordinary host! First the apartment... we visited Mexico City as a family with our adult children. We loved the large, sun-lit living room and dining room with plenty of space for everyone to relax and eat together. Great views of the city out the floor-to-ceiling windows. Large, beautifully decorated bedrooms with super-comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms. And we loved being in the center of the city with easy walking to the Zocalo, markets, museums, murals, and parks. And now about the amazing Petra... the best VRBO host I've ever encountered. Communication ahead of the trip was super-responsive. We arrived on Christmas Eve when restaurants were closed so she offered to order for us and have the food waiting in the fridge when we arrived. She arranged airport transportation and guided a tour for us to the pyramids, complete with delicious quesadillas in the market. She offered advice on places to see and made us feel so welcome and so cared-for with lots of extras: breakfast pastries, yummy jam, lots of guidebooks (for one of which she is a contributing author), and more. We loved ringing in New Years Eve 20024 together with her! Highly, highly, highly recommend! You cannot go wrong with this booking!

Communication with Petra before me arriving went smoothly. During my stay I felt everything was done right by Petra and her staff. Will definitely book again.

We had such a great time in this apartment. It was a perfect place for my husband and myself my children and their significant others. Everyone gasped when we walked in and how beautiful it was. It was also well appointed, with things like hats and umbrellas, if you forgot them. Petra is a wonderful host and made us feel very at home. The continental breakfast helped us get going on the day without worrying about a restaurant. Location is so perfect for seeing the historical district. And we took Ubers to the other parts of town.

It was a lovely apartment with an owner to match. Everything was perfect

A large clean place in a wonderful location. The fresh pastries and mini bar could allow visitors to only leave for dinner at the many great restaurants nearby. The many historic attractions within walking distance and a subway stop around the corner will give guests many sights to visit.

Great place to stay while we were here for the Padres games. Central location, close to the metro…very easy to get around the city.

Petra was wonderful. She purchased ballet tickets for us before we arrived and met us to help us get familiarized with the house, is quite large. I would say that the beds need to be upgraded as they are hard as rocks however Petra was very helpful and brought in some foam toppers They were still a bit hard but worked. I suggest if you are traveling with a friend upgrade to the two king-size bedrooms, that way you each have your own bathroom. We will definitely return. Thank you Petra for everything!

I could echo all the other rave reviews about the apartment and Petra. They are all true. Or I could tell you my story. I am 73, a few infirmities, no Spanish, never been to Mexico. But I brought young strong 43 & 23 year olds son and granddaughter to "take care of me". On the first day they ate street tacos and got Traveller Diarrhea. That can get really bad and I would have been beside myself with worry were it not for Petra. She cancelled reservations for me; provided Electrolyte solution and an OTC med; reassured that she could get embassy doctor if needed; called several times a day to check on us; gave me rice for them; offered to send the maid to drugstore; convinced me they would survive if I went to a concert and found 2 wonderful ladies to go with me. Luckily they were basically back on their feet in 48 hours. But it could have been so much worse and I was so grateful to have her expertise and support. I really didn't worry (much). I just can't say enough. Plus, how many hosts walk you to the car and hug you good-bye? She is special.

We had a wonderful experience while staying in this beautiful, greatly maintained, comfortable, spacious, neat place. The owner, Petra, is a great host and communicator. She provided us with all the details about the apartment and useful tips to plan our trip in advance. Petra answered all our questions right away before we arrived and was always available for questions we had during the stay .The location is great, right in the center of the historical part of Mexico city, it made our sightseeing and shopping easy. The place is maintained very well. It was very thoughtful having daily fresh and yummy food for breakfast and it saved us time every morning to start discover the city with no time wasted. Very spacious place with beautiful views and wonderful host, HIGHLY recommended.

Fabulous apartment but the best part was our host, Petra who made our visit absolutely wonderful
We chose the property based on the view, the location and the amenities. It was well located in the central area and the support prior to our visit from our host Petra. She was outstanding. Prior to our visit we had multiple interaction with her on distilled water for a Cpap, tours, transportation, etc. During our stay she was very present and continued to enhance our . visit by providing suggestions and support for our questions. all six of us agree we will definitely return!

Fabulous apartment in Center of Historic Disrict
Petra is a wonderful host and great walking tour guide. The apartment was huge and fully equipped with anything we could need: guide books, magazines, hats, umbrellas, cooking equipment, spices, breakfast foods.... I was with three other senior women and am looking forward to renting again with my family.

Top floor, large, Centro Historico- do it!
We really liked this place. The star is Petra, the owner of this top floor huge apartment. She lives across the way in another apartment thus was close by if we needed her but did not intrude on our stay at all. She is charming, cares about her guests, and the building is lovely. Built in the 1940's, it has charm and the apartment is very large. We were two couples- one of us had an en suite bathroom, and the other had a bathroom next to their room. There is an outdoor veranda for views to the Belles Artes Palace and west- it's a narrow veranda and filled with happy plants, so no real place to sit outside (other than singly on stools). the rest of the apartment is very large and light, and very secure with a guarded entrance, key fob entry to the elevators, and good locks. We particularly liked how well Petra had the place stocked; everything from paper products to bathroom stuff was there, which we have found lacking in some VRBO's. Breakfast was provided- eggs, yogurts, Mexican pastries, coffee restocked every day by the housekeepers who have been with Petra for years. Speaking of which- the housekeepers had a very well stocked honor bar, with tequilas, mezcals, other liquors, and many bottles of decent wine. There is a notebook nearby, with a price list and a sheet to log what you consume- then you pay up at the end in pesos. The prices were all VERY reasonable- doesn't appear to be any markup. The neighborhood is very central and walkable to the Zocalo, Belle Artes, and many museums. 2 doors down is a bakery, and next to that a restaurant called Bajio which is a chain but also very good. For a little more upscale try Limosneros a block away. We really enjoyed both Petra and her wonderful home.

Great property in Mexico City
Four of us recently spent several nights here and had a wonderful experience. The location is great - walking distance to several attractions and easy access to cabs/ride sharing. The apartment itself is very spacious and ideally set up for two couples with separate wings that provide lots of privacy. Petra is incredibly gracious and offered great suggestions on where to go/what to see (it was our first visit to Mexico City.) She even left us some nice little parting gifts and arranged transportation for us. I would happily recommend staying here on your visit to Mexico City.

Absolutely fabulous!!
Experiencing Día de Muertos in Mexico City has been on my bucket list for years and being lucky enough to reserve Petra’s penthouse made the trip perfect. The penthouse is impeccable - spacious and beautiful with everything you could possible need and close to everything in Centro Historico. The view from the terrace is spectacular, and we started and ended every day there.
Breakfast is great with a variety of fruits, pastries, cereal, cocoa, coffee and tea. Snacks and drinks are available at reasonable costs. The beds are comfortable. Everything is immaculate.
But the real jewel is Petra. She was a fabulous hostess, offering us tips on places to go, restaurants – anything we wanted (or needed) to know. She took us to the perfect place to watch the parade and introduced us to several of her friends. My biggest mistake was not taking advantage of her extensive knowledge of the city before arriving.
I cannot thank Petra enough for her hospitality. She is awesome

Fantastic location
Really beautiful property. We had 7 people there and there was more than enough room for all of us. Petra was fantastic. Gave us great local restaurant suggestions. Very close and walkable to so many museums, the city center, etc. Great to have housekeeping every day and breakfast there for the morning.

Perfect Penthouse Apt in Centro Historic
We were four women traveling to Mexico City for the first time. Looking at pictures on the Vrbo website, the apartment looked perfect for us -- and it absolutely was. To begin, Petra was very helpful throughout the entire process. She responded to emails within hour-- giving us information about the area and advice on restaurants and tours. She even booked our tickets to Casa Azul for us. Upon arrival, Ceci greeted us warmly (since Petra was out of town) and installed us in the apartment, explaining everything we needed to know. The apartment was as, if not more, beautiful than it looked in the pictures. It was also immaculate. The living room and dining room were spacious, bright, and beautifully furnished. The four of us were very comfortable drinking a glass of wine on the couches that faced each other, or around the dining room table. The kitchen was large and had every appliance we needed. The. breakfast that Ceci brought in every day was perfect for us -- an assortment of breads and sweet breads, yogurt, delicious fruit and eggs, along with coffee or tea. The four bedrooms and bathrooms were in different parts of the apartment, giving all of us the privacy we wanted. The bathrooms were modern and the beds had comfortable mattresses. And, we could not have chosen a more perfect location. There is so much to do in the Centro Historico and we were a able to walk to so many museums and sights. We were also able to walk to several very excellent restaurants and markets. When we ventured into other neighborhoods, we used Uber, which worked out very well. All in all, the four of us had an incredible time staying at Bolivar 8 in Mexico City. Our only regret is that we were only there for five days -- definitely not enough time. I'm planning to return to Mexico City with my husband in the near future and I hope the Petra's apartment is available when I do.

Brilliant location
The location is perfect. You can walk to all the main attractions. For anything else further afield the Uber is very cheap. Petra and her team are very efficient and nothing is too much trouble. The apartment has everything in it that you could possible need.
Would definitely stay here again.

Incredible location and host!
You cannot ask for a better location from which to discover the historic Mexico City centro on foot! The apartment is incredibly spacious, well stocked and super clean. Petra is so helpful as well, offering to arrange airport transfers for day trips if desired. Over all this choice in lodging made our Mexico City experience exceptional!

Views, Hospitality, Wonderful Stay!
We are grateful to Petra for welcoming us and providing tips, tours, humor, transportation, and a beautiful place to stay. We loved the views from the penthouse, your walking tour, all the restaurant and neighborhood recommendations, the trip to Teotihuacan, and watching the James Bond movie.
We were a group on 7 (3 couples, one 9-year old) and all fit well, some shared bathrooms, did take Petra up on the pads for the beds, and the bathrooms had plenty of hot water. Petra and Ceci helped with every possible request that crossed our minds!
Hope to be back before too long. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Wonderful location! Spacious!
It was a perfect set up for our group of five, each having private rooms and baths and still having a private visiting area to have our coffee or happy hour. Petra was very friendly and helpful without being the least bit instructive. We would definitely stay here again!

The apartment was in a perfect location to enjoy the historic center of the city.
The apartment was perfect for our family, but what really made our stay memorable was the incredible hospitality of Petra and her staff. Her warm welcome and easy access made our first trip to MC seamless. Petra’s restaurant recommendations, setting up our pyramid tour, airport transportation and setting up our incredible dinner with Ceci made our vacation.

Spectacular Apartment; Delightful Hospitlity
Prior to even booking, Petra provided us great and timely information about the accommodations. Communications with her were very easy, prompt, informative and accurate at all points through booking, arrival and during our visit.
But, the best part was the reveal upon arrival - as each one of our traveling companions entered the apartment and saw just how bright and spacious it was and beheld the stunning view, we each flashed that giddy grin with each other that said: "Wow! We just hit the jackpot!" The apartment is ... spectacular!
Hospitality was warm, attentive and highly personalized. Before arrival, Petra helped arrange for airport pick-up (and on departure, drop-off) (highly recommended!), and when we arrived, she greeted us at the door and provided us excellent local recommendations and later made herself available throughout our visit for additional insight. She knows everything there is to do, offered valuable insider tips and even took us on a walking tour of the neighborhood. Each morning, Ceci set out an enormous array of fresh pastries, fruit and other treats for us and otherwise kept the apartment spotless. One of our favorite experiences, though, was a morning and afternoon cooking course with Ceci - we highly recommend it! From planning the menu together to shopping at local markets for all ingredients, Ceci was a very patient teacher and gave us clear, step-by-step instruction on how to prepare an authentic meal that lasted us for days.
There really is every reason to visit here. Petra and Ceci are delightful hostesses and obviously take a lot of pride in making their visitors feel like honored guests. If you are reading this, we hope you stay there and have as delightful a visit as we did!

Wonderful Accomodations - Close to Everything
Prior to our arrival:
Petra was extremely responsive and very informative on what was located immediately around the penthouse, offered site seeing recommendations based on what our interests were, and provided recommendations for available drivers to take us too and from the out of town excursions. There was so much information exchanged and shared that upon arriving, that we wasted no time in trying to 'figure things out' during our stay.
Arrival and During our Stay:
We were welcomed by Petra and Ceci and immediately provided with a brief tour of the penthouse, which has everything you would need for a short or long term stay. Everything in the penthouse provided the comfort we needed after very long day's of sightseeing, while everything you may need (ATM's, convenience stores, shopping, etc.) are all within a very short walking distance.
Departure:
We were again greeted by Petra and Ceci prior to departing and asked about our stay. Further recommendations for driver or taxi service to the airport were again provided to us which made everything from our arrival to departure nothing less than a flawless process.
In Closing:
Everything about this trip was perfect. The hospitality, accommodations, and location are all what make this place a true gem in Mexico City that everyone should have the opportunity to experience.

The perfect place
I took my grand-daughter to Mexico City to introduce her to the beautiful Mexican culture and to meet relatives. My nephew, nieces and sister also joined us. I really wanted this to be a memorable and perfect trip. And it was! Petra's home was the perfect house with the perfect location and Petra was the perfect host. When arranging the reservation she was in constant communication with me making sure every thing was in place. She arranged for the driver to provide transportation to and from the airport and she was at the house to greet us when we arrived. We were able to arrange tours with her which made it so easy for us. We knew we were in good hands. She has a wonderful cook who helped us with a very special dinner for our relatives. I have rented many homes through vrbo which were very nice, but this home was a jewel perfected by Petra!

Very comfortable apartment in an excellent location
My wife and I and three friends just returned from a week in Mexico City staying in this very comfortable, extremely well located, apartment within easy walking distance of all the sites in the historical district. Unlike many city apartments this one is very spacious, with good size bedrooms and bathrooms and a very large living area. We two couples and a single were extremely comfortable. Unlike other VRBO rentals we have used around the world, this also offers both daily maid service and very generous continental breakfast, (fruit, pasties, coffee and tea). While the apartment was wonderful, the real treasure is Petra (the owner). Her knowledge of Mexico and the city is boundless. Her ability to assess ones areas of interest, and suggest plans to capitalize on them, allows one to get the maximum benefit from time spent in this vibrant city. We certainly look forward to a return visit

2nd stay at Bolivar Suites
This was our second stay at the Bolivar Suites, and it lived up to our memories. The apartment is a beautiful oasis with daily cleaning, fresh pastries and fruit for breakfast each day, and an affordable mini-bar.
An added bonus is Petra's assistance and recommendations with activities in Mexico City. Last year, we went (on Petra's suggestion) to the Ciudadela on Saturday afternoon to watch people dancing Danzon - an elegant, complex dance that originated in Cuba and has been popular in Mexico for decades. We loved it! This year, Petra arranged a private dance lesson in our apartment from Armando (you can find video of him if you search for Danzon, Ciudadela, and Suavecito). It was wonderful! If you like to dance, I highly recommend booking a lesson with Armando and following it up with a whirl at the Ciudadela.
Thank you, Petra and Ceci, for another wonderful trip!

Just like the photos
This lovely apartment is perfect if you want to stay in the bustling center of Mexico City. The view is spectacular. You can walk to many of the major sights and good restaurants. The subway, which is a fantastic bargain and incredibly efficient, is literally around the corner. Petra and Ceci are gracious hosts and delightful company. Our family of five enjoyed our trip to the market and cooking class with Ceci tremendously. Between Ceci's explanations and the kindness of the stall holders we learned much more about ingredients than we had visiting markets on our own. Petra knowing of my husband's interest in eating bugs pointed out a restaurant where he could snack on them to his heart's content. Petra also organised our transport to and from the airport as well as a balloon ride over Teotihuacan which was a highlight of our stay. We are so glad we had a guided tour of the ruins with Petra afterwards as we found it much more interesting and informative than if we had seen it on our own. I highly recommend this apartment and taking advantage of Petra's extensive knowledge of the city.
