We loved our stay with our two kids (5 and 7). The cottage was well maintained, a great location, and a tremendous view!

We enjoyed our stay at the Apple cottage. The cottage was spacious for a family of four and very quiet. The location was superb, with beautiful coastal and natural surroundings. Watching from the porch the sunrise over the water was something. Would come back again if we have a chance.

Apple Cottage is a cozy, quiet, waterfront cottage that made a great home base for our visit to Acadia NP, Bar Harbor and other nearby sights. The kids enjoyed hunting for sand dollars and sea glass during low tide on the rocky shore in front of the cottage.
Anne is a great hostess and provided detailed information on hikes, things to do and places to eat. She was very attentive to questions both before our trip and when I had quick questions while we were there.

Apple cottage was the perfect place to stay for our visit to Acadia. Close enough to all things Acadia but in a quiet location. Our kids really enjoyed the beach in the back yard! We had several deer visit each day. Bar Harbor was an easy 30 minute drive away. Anne provided a great list of places to eat and places to hike! She even describes the hikes and rates their difficulty for kids. We based most of our activities on her recommendations.

This was the third time we have stayed at Apple Cottage and have enjoyed it each time. It's always our first pick of places to say while vacationing at Acadia National Park.

The Apple Cottage was beautiful. It is oceanside and set on a property that is secluded and peaceful. Deer visited us morning and evening, adding to the relaxed feeling. It was on the quiet side of Acadia but close enough to all of the Park to make hiking and other activities accessible. We plan to return in the future.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and making our first trip to Maine. This home was just what we were looking for, Close enough to various locations of Acadia National Park but tucked away from the crowds. The deck with the view of the water while observing the visiting deer was our favorite place to be after waking with our morning coffee or returning after hiking or visiting Bar Harbor. We enjoyed our time at Apple cottage and hope to return one day.

Enjoy the location of the property it was right on the water. We watched it fishing boats come and go. Also, enjoy the ducks and sea fowl. Roaming deer feeding on apples daily in the yard.

Our host was very informative not only in preparation of our stay but also with the binder provided with information on hikes and food. The cottage was a perfect size for the 4 (2 adults, 14 year old and 11 year old kids) of us. I enjoyed my sunrise coffee on the deck along with the local deer. We loved checking out the beach at low tide while hunting for sand dollars and seaglass. Very easy checkout as well. Great location, will recommend to others.

Loved the quiet location with a view of the water. Property was clean and had everything we needed. It was a great base for visiting Acadia NP and a cozy retreat for those inevitable foggy, rainy days; so much nicer than a hotel room. Host responded immediately when we our access code didn't work.

Location is great on the quiet side of the island and numerous eateries are location fairly close by. The deck is a fabulous location for enjoying your morning coffee while watching the boats go by. Access to the beach is excellent and there is beauty in the simplicity of the layout of the cottage itself. We plan to return!

This was our second visit to Seawall. Location is great for hiking in Acadia and we enjoyed fabulous weather. Kitchen is not equipped for elaborate cooking, but was fine for making simple meals which is all we felt like after hiking all day!

We had another wonderful 2 weeks at “Apple” cottage on the coast of Maine. This was our second stay at this property in Southwest Harbor. The views of the water and boat traffic were terrific. The cottage was very comfortable and we had daily visits from the island deer. We also saw a large flock of wild turkeys—twice! We love the “quiet side” of the island and the location and comfort of the cottage.

Nice cottage, perfect for our family of 4. Views were excellent from the deck. Porpoises, seals, lobster boats, sailboats, ferries, etc... We could sit there for hours. The shore was fun too. Very rocky, some tidepools. Scooped up a few sanddollars. Don't miss the tidepooling at Wonderland right down the road. Hosts shared great tips. A fun active week!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was the perfect size for our family and gave us easy access to all of Acadia NP. It's located on the quietsude if the island which we really appreciated at the end of full days of hiking around ANP..
My kids really enjoyed the easy access to the water to investigate all the tides pools at low tide as well. Would definitely stay here again if we had the chance.

Beautiful Setting!
This cottage with water views was on the quiet side of Acadia, which we love! It is very conveniently located to some nice hikes, downtown Southwest Harbor and a small grocery store. The queen bed was comfortable and the unit has the basic necessities. Given that it has lovely water views the outside furniture and deck could use some updating and power washing. They were not comfortable to sit on for any length of time. We would recommend you bring your own chairs for more comfort and to be able to move down closer to the water. Overall, we were very happy with this place and would consider staying here again.

Very nice location
We got off to a little bit of a rough start but everything was quickly taken care of. The cottage was very nice with a wonderful water view. One note for the owner, the deck could use some cleaning/power washing.
Overall this was a very nice week away and we would definitely return.

Nice cottage; responsive owner; lovely view.
The house was welcoming and uncluttered, with a pretty view of the ocean and surrounding islands. The bed in the master bedroom was comfortable, sheets very soft, bathroom spacious and kitchen nicely designed and useable. Anne, the owner, was responsive, pleasant and helpful when we had questions.
As others have mentioned, the house is set behind and to the side of a larger rental house, so it has the feel of water view, with access, rather than waterfront. We wouldn't have felt comfortable hanging out on the grassy area above the cobbles, which was clearly someone else's yard. If it's important to you to experience the shoreline in that way, I would recommend the larger cottage, from the same owners. If you're happy with a good view of the water and the freedom to visit a rocky shore to take pictures, Apple Cottage is perfect.

Acadia vacation
We had a wonderful stay at this property. Very comfortable with beautiful views of the water. Enjoyed being close to hiking. Cooked very simply as kitchen is not set up for elaborate meals, but we were too tired after hiking for that anyway! We hope to return next year

Relaxing and enjoyable
The cottage is very comfortable and has a very nice view of the water. We enjoyed many days sitting and watching the boat traffic--lobster boats, motor boats, and lots of beautiful sailboats. We would definitely come again.

Ideal
Ideal for a couple or a family of four who appreciate the quiet side of the island. The view is spectacular, the home comfortable and well appointed, a short drive Southwest Harbor, BarHarbor, eagle lake and several family friendly hikes/tide pools.
We certainly hope to rent this property again.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

Beautiful view, cozy cottage
Clean, comfortable, and well stocked! We spent a week with our two kids, 5 and 1. The older kid loved his bunk bed and the master bedroom was comfortable for us and the baby. The deck is low enough that I felt safe letting the baby play there. The view is even prettier than the photos. The yard is shared with other houses but they are positioned so that it feels private enough. Love the location near Wonderland, Echo Lake, Beech Mtn, and of course every day a visit to the southwest harbor bakery! I would say I found the tile floor in the kitchen and hallway a little uncomfortable after a day of hiking, but I concede it is practical for a beach house. I would just bring house slippers next time if we stay here again. The owner was quickly responsive when there was an issue with a new smoke alarm.

Great location, excellent hosts
My fiancee and I loved the place, the location is awesome, great view, walk 30 seconds to beach and felt very secluded. Additionally, the host were so responsive. I asked for advice on hikes to take in Acadia, received excellent recommendations quickly. They were also very responsive in other questions I had. Definitely recommend.

Amazing see views and tranquility of the forest
Very nice cottage, but most of the time spent outdoor. Equipment/furnished is extensive and standard. The yard/sea access is shared with users of multiple other adjacent properties.

Beautiful cottage on the Seawall
We loved this beautiful little cottage with a great view off the deck. Perfect for the two of us, comfortable and convenient place to stay to reach other places of interest on Mt. Desert Island. The property manager, Ann Hopkins, was helpful and responsive whenever we had a question. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay in this wonderful home away from home! Would not hesitate to come back and stay here again.

Nice Acadia Getaway!
This house has a great location even being set back a bit from the ocean and sharing the yard with an adjacent house. The house was clean and quiet, the deck is beautiful with a very nice grill. Kitchen was great and the whole house was in good condition and updated with good furniture. We had to deduct one star for some attention to detail things. We had very little soap and dish detergent, the kitchen sponge was dirty, no trash bags were left, and very little kleenex and toilet paper. Other than that, the house itself was very nice and in a nice quiet area in Southwest Harbor. Easy access to everything the island offers!

Simply Spectacular
The title says it all, a "charming, 2BR oceanfront cottage with stunning views". 2016 was our first experience with Apple Cottage, and it was simply spectacular. The cottage exceeded all expectations - well appointed, super clean, comfortable, quiet, and the view is probably the best on the East Coast - you can simply sit all day and enjoy the gentle breezes and every changing ocean landscape. A venue and experience that will call you back!

Fantastic Place To Stay with easy access to Acadia
Apple Cottage was wonderful and the perfect place for a family of four to stay. The cottage was immaculate! Views from the deck and property of the Cranberry Isles were excellent. At low tide we enjoyed finding sand dollars right off the property. Owner was responsive, very friendly, and clearly loves Mount Desert Island. She made excellent restaurant and hiking recommendations. Southwest Harbor is a lovely community with nice options for eating-out or picking up necessary supplies. If you stay at Apple Cottage you will be happy that you did.

The title describes it all.
This is not a cottage! It is a fabulous cottage house, wonderfully furnished right down to a blender!
The view from the deck is great and the sights of the boats moving thru the channel is ever changing. We even had deer wander across the lawn on two occasions. The cottage is very clean, up to date with nothing to do but bring in your groceries. Quiet location only two miles from South West Harbor is a tranquille place for a relaxing vacation. Highly recommended.

Lovely week
We were incredibly impressed with Apple Cottage, from the amazing location and lovely ocean view to the pristine condition of the house. Tucked back in a wooded area, but right near the water, it was quiet and peaceful with easy access to a rocky beach area where my son spent a lot of time happily skipping rocks. The house itself was very well-appointed -- virtually nothing was lacking that we needed for the week -- and nicely furnished. (extremely comfortable, not too crowded with things, and perfect size for a family of four.) Granted, we lucked out with great weather, but would have been happy to hang out longer in the house or on the deck. Moreover, Ann H. was very communicative and helpful throughout the process -- from the time we booked it to the myriad of questions I sent her way about places to hike or things to do. (she always responded quickly, and with good humor.) Her binder of suggested activities, restaurants etc. was a great resource. Southwest Harbor is also just a very nice part of the island, and easily accessible to many lovely walks and restaurants. We cannot wait to come back!
