About this house rental
The Stanley home is a comfortable 2 bedroom family home nestled at the top of the hill at the end of a dead end road. The property includes a large back deck with patio set and grill for barbeque on summer nights. With an attached fenced in play yard for your pet and a large unfenced area out back for children to play, this is the perfect property for a family getaway.
You can choose to enjoy the quiet, nature filled back yard by the orchard or simply walk out the front door for ocean views. Just down the hill is a popular spot for photographers to capture the sunrise over the harbor. This home is a short 1/2 mile walk to restaurants and shopping in Southwest Harbor and provides easy access to hiking trails and Acadia National Park. In the summer and fall this rental is walking distance to weekly farmers markets and art vendors.
A few notes about the set up of the house:
1. Both bedrooms are on the second floor. The bathroom is on the first floor.
2. There is a bar style table in the kitchen that seats four people elbow to elbow. There is a more traditional dining set up on the back deck.

This house was exactly what we were looking for. A perfect little house for us to stay with a great enclosed area for the dogs. Neighborhood was quiet yet still close to all of the places we wanted to visit. I would totally recommend this property to those with or without dogs. My girlfriend is allergic to dogs and can usually still have some symptoms when we stay at pet friendly places, but the house was so clean that there were no traces of dogs who have visited.

We had a lovely stay, great views of the harbor. House was great and very accessible. Easy walk or drive into SW Harbor. Enjoyed the landscape and seeing the deer in the back yard. A memorable vacation.

Perfect house for a relaxing getaway to Acadia National Park. Conveniently located close to town with many restaurants and essential shops nearby. The house was very clean, comfortable, and well stocked with more than just the essentials.

We've stayed here a few times with our kids and dogs, and they all look forward to coming back again. Great location on the quiet side of the island, nice view of the harbor down the road, and a fenced in backyard for the dogs and kids to play in. An outstanding place to relax!

Our family of 5 (the small kids) stayed 6 nights here. It was great. We like quiet locations like southwest harbor opposed to busy tourist places (like bar harbor). We planned out each day with an event and then came back to this place to rest. It was comfortable to cook, read, we ate on the back deck a lot. The host recommended the best places to get lobster by the pound and we saw fireworks from just down Robinson lane. By far, the best place we could have stayed at. Highly recommend, worth the price.

We loved our stay! Close to hiking trails and swimming at Echo Lake, but away from the noise and crowds of Bar Harbor. Within minutes of everything you could need such as shops and restaurants, and stocked with plenty of towels, linens and supplies. We are rather choosy and found it to be perfect for what turned out to be an ideal vacation.

We enjoyed our time at this house in Southwest Harbor. The location is perfect for some of the great, less popular hikes in Acadia. It was the perfect place to accommodate our dog as well. Having an enclosed fence was very convenient. The bathrooms and bedrooms are on different floors, but not a dealbreaker. Ashley was super friendly and helpful. We hope to come back again!

We stayed here while visiting Acadia. The house was clean, comfortable, and perfect to bring along your dog! The view of southwest harbor was beautiful and so peaceful. We enjoyed being able to come back and rest after adventures in the park!

Ashley's home was absolutely perfect for us! It was sparkling clean, well equipped and pet friendly. The dog run outside was so convenient for early morning and bedtime potty trips. Everything we reached for was right there, and the view of the harbor was spectacular. The apple orchard filled with handsome bucks was an endlessly entertaining bonus!

We came to Maine with our two dogs to hike in Acadia National Park. Ashley’s place ( the Stanley House) was perfect for us and our dogs. It was in a calm and peaceful location in Southwest Harbor ( on the quiet side of MDI).
The dogs loved the outdoor run. We loved the view of the orchard from the back deck. Inside, everything was super clean and well stocked. This felt like home away from home.
We also appreciated Ashley’s great communication and updates post Hurricane Lee ( we arrived just after the storm passed). Her suggestions for places to find great food were spot-on!
We hope to return to Maine again, and we would love to return to the Stanley House.

We were looking for a place convenient to hiking and dog friendly. We found the place! Ashley’s place is a perfect get away close to everything you will want to visit. The large fenced in area will put your kind at ease of your pet needs to use the facilities late at night:). We enjoyed our visit and will certainly be back in the future!

We had such a lovely time in Acadia, and this property was the perfect launching point for our time on MDI. From the deck out back to the light-filled kitchen, we used all of the space on this great property. We had wonderful communication with the owner and everything went smoothly. What a great place!

Stayed late July with my wife, two older teen children, and German shepherd dog. Beautiful and quiet location, yet close enough to all the attractions of Acadia. House was clean especially considering it is dog friendly. Enjoyed dining
Al-fresco on the front porch and back deck. Saw many deer-including a Buck, out munching on apples in the orchard. Great stargazing at night too. Would definitely recommend!

The house was great for our family with two kids and a dog. The fenced in yard was perfect for the dog, the house has a good layout for a family, and it was a short walk into town when we didn’t feel like driving and parking. The fog blocked the view of the harbor down the road from the front porch for most of the week, but can’t hold that against anyone!

The home was very nicely equipped, clean, comfortable, and well located. The hosts were easy to reach and very responsive. We would recommend this place to our family and friends.

The house was absolutely perfect for our mini honeymoon in Southwest Harbor. We had our two dogs with us who loved being able to run around in the fully fenced yard. The house was super comfortable, well supplied and very clean. The location is on the "quiet side" of the island so we enjoyed a great meal but also drove over to Bar Harbor quite a bit for other activities. We'd definitely stay here again!

We loved the huge fenced yard and the retreat away from the commercial center. I appreciated the little touches like a dog bowl & special bin for our doggie dumper disposal outside. There was enough room for 2 cars in front of the house and everything we needed for laundry was fully stocked. We would stay again with our pup.

The Stanley Family home is a great property if you're traveling with your pet. The fenced-in area in the back is perfect for opening the door and allowing your dog to run around outside. The location of the home in SWHarbor is convenient for exploring MDI. The interior of the home is very clean and you would not know that multiple visitors and their pets have stayed there. All in all, a terrific spot to explore MDI, but know that November is very quiet which I didn't mind, but most restaurants are closed, or you need to check hours in advance. Thank you to the Stanleys for hosting us!

Loved this property. The fenced in dog run was such a treat for my fur baby. Well appointed and perfectly situated to hike in all directions. Close to a grocery store, restaurants (Charlotte's!!), and cute shops but away from the bustle of Bar Harbor. It should be noted that the one bathroom is downstairs, while the bedrooms are upstairs. A little bothersome if you get up in the night or have kids that do. Other than that, a perfect stay!

Such a perfect house! Beautiful views, clean and cozy, and easy to get around town. The beds are comfortable, there are plenty of towels and blankets. Having a washer and dryer was so helpful. The yard is so nice. The kitchen has everything you could need.

House was clean and just a bit away from the harbor. Loved everything about it. Highly recommend the Quiet Side Cafe. The pie was killer. The deer visits were a highlight too.

We had a great stay in Southwest Harbor. The dog friendly house allowed us to travel with our 2 pups and take them hiking with us in Acadia. The pups loved the fenced in area in the yard. The house is next to an old apple orchard and we loved seeing the deer coming to feed on the apples. House is close to lots of different hiking trails and beaches. Also, close to Bar Harbor. We enjoyed our stay!

This was our first time in Maine and we’re so glad we stayed at Ashley’s property. Our dog had a blast in the fenced in yard - but be aware the deck railing by the grill isn’t that high, so we had to keep him on the leash just in case. There were several large deer that would hang around and eat the apples, which was pretty cool to see! The house was tidy and the kitchen was well equipped. Smart tv and WiFi were great, and loved that there were TV tables so we could eat in the living room. The town is so cute and convenient for everything we needed. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely spot on the Quiet Side
Cozy and comfy with everything we needed for our stay. It was great to find such a great dog-friendly place so close to Southwest Harbor. We walked into town for coffee and pastry and ice cream and all the things! We really enjoyed watching the seals play in the harbor, and it was great to be so close to so many great hikes in Acadia National Park.

Clean and comfortable on the "quiet side"
The house was very clean and comfortable, and had all the amenities of home. The Southwest Harbor is known as "The Quiet Side" and it lived up to its name. After a long day at Acadia, we found peace under the stars in this rental in the evening. The kids also loved the Wii!

Perfect place for a Desert Island / Acadia stay
This property is in a beautiful, small , quiet, well kept neighborhood with a wonderful view of Southwest Harbor. It is clean and comfortable. Even though they accept pets, there is no evidence internally or externally - it is THAT clean! The beds are comfortable and the place has everything you need , just like at home! If I return to Maine, I am definitely looking forward to trying to book this residence again. The host, Ashley, is open and easy to communicate with and ensures you have what you need for your visit. Loved it! Thank you so much for making our trip memorable!

Great spot for family and a dog
We had a lovely time at the house. The location is great—we could walk into town and bike to Seawall. Our dog also loved the fenced area in the yard. The house itself was well maintained, clean, and well equipped for our stay
