Honest review
The cottage was cold on arrival, but soon got it cosy. Well equipped kitchen. Very good WiFi. The beds are comfortable. Excellent pub next door, food great and staff friendly.Close to Ashbourne, Bakewell, and Buxton.
Cooker wasn't the easiest to control and could do with updating.

Passable
The location is lovely..the views are great and the pub next door is brilliant!!
The picnic table outside is pretty rotten..and unusable. No welcome pack which is very rare nowadays..especially given the location. The Internet is at best poor..we couldn't use it for the last day and morning. And no recycling available..there was supposed to be a bin outside somewhere!! But other cottages had a recycling bin.

Passable
The cottage is a good base if you just want somewhere to sleep while exploring the area but it does need some TLC. Nice family pub next door. It's a lovely area with amazing scenery. .
Very damp walls surrounding the entrance to the living room. The dining chairs were too low for the dining table so it was difficult to eat at the table. The cooker is old and some of the on/off control switches didn't switch the cooker off so it had to be switched off at the wall for safety. Sadly we were a bit underwhelmed by the property. It's an okay base if you just want a place to sleep while exploring the peak district but it definitely needs some updating and some TLC.

The worse cottage we have ever stayed.
When we arrived, the cottage was cold. We stayed in our coats in middle of April inside for a few hours. The cottage was not cleaned properly, dust, empty shampoo bottles in a bathroom, empty air freshener bottles, dirty mirrors, cobweb. Kitchen would need a good scab too. Jar with coffee had dry coffee. No one cleaned that jar for months. To have a shower, need to step in to bath. There is no mat inside, it is easy to fell as a bath is slippery. Shower hardly run, no power at all. There is no place to eat. There is a folded table in a corner of the living room, which is not usable and folded chairs in a downstairs bedroom. Two bedrooms are upstairs, and each had clatter under the bed and on top of a wardrobe. The photo of the main bedroom is very different what we had in a cottage. In the middle of the night, while my daughter was asleep the mirror came out off the wall. That mirror was not attached properly. The cottage is on the bend of the busy road. I would not recommend this place for families with small children and dogs. It is dangerous. There is no parking allocated. We arrived late and could not park as all parking spaces were occupied. It says , the cottage has a garden and terrace. There is no garden. There is a tiny space in front of a cottage with a table. However, because of a road, it is not enjoyable to seat there as it is literally on the road. The only positive is a view.
To be cleaned, to be worm, to inject some love in to this cottage. To perhaps paint and refresh. To make sure beds are comfortable. Give a good deep clean to the kitchen. I did not want to touch anything there. TV was dusty, skirting board are dirty. Clean mirrors.

Fab cottage with amazing views
Lovely cottage with everything you need home from home. Great little patio at front of cottage overlooking amazing view of the dale. Perfectly placed for walks from your doorstep with pub directly next door serving great food. Easy access to Bakewell, Buxton and Chatsworth House or just enjoy the many rural villages for plentiful walks.
Nothing - all good
