Location was very good. I liked the staff in the restaurant, they were very nice.
Our room.was very small, I booked a deluxe double through booking.com and was disappointed with the room size. There was nowhere to put toiletries or spaces for nic lacs.

Our rooms were lovely, spacious and comfortable. I liked the fact that you could turn down the heating, and open windows. We didn't have a room with a sea view, however it wasn't a bad view.
Location is fab.
Staff at reception and breakfast were very friendly, as was the concierge.
Breakfast was good - although haggis wasn't to my taste.
We did let the hotel know it was our friend's 40th birthday which they came back and acknowledged in a message however there was nothing in our room to acknowledge it which was a little disappointing.
Bar staff were very slow. We arrived in the bar 30 minutes before we had to leave for dinner reservations outside the hotel. We eventually got our drinks with 5 minutes to spare and had to hurry them down. One guy behind the bar making all the drinks (bar was busy). There was another guy taking orders however he maybe should have read the room and helped the guy behind the bar.

Fantastic hotel and staff, beautiful location
Breakfast was a bit poor, presentation and felt like it was microwaved, steak and wine night was very poor unfortunately, steak was very fatty and couldn’t get it cooked enough, very thick and poor quality

Food was good and downstairs bar area is lovely. The location is obviously superb.
The conservatory was absolutely frozen for our meal on Friday evening so we eat out on Saturday evening. Leisure facilities are tired and the third floor rooms are too quirky and not that nice to be honest - being the top floor and next to the roof meant as it was very windy the roof groaned all night - definitely would not stay in top floor again.

Lovely hotel in a good location. Had the consistent theme of their brand. The bar staff etc were very nice
When we arrived our room was ready at 11 so this was helpful. However when we got into the room there was a horrible sewage smell, we told reception then we’re upgraded to a junior suite. My one thing would be that I booked a king double which from the picture on booking.com looked like a junior suite

The staff were exceptionally friendly. The weather was extreme and we needed to leave early so they were kind enough not to charge us for the night we didn't stay. They were very welcoming to our dog. The breakfast and supper were very tasty. The room was clean and spacious. The location is superb.
Everything was fine apart from cigarette smoke smell in the bathroom. We informed the staff and an air freshener was put in our room.

This is a beautiful building that is well appointed and positioned perfectly next to the golf club. It is well laid out, clean, roomy with lovely staff
We had a sea view which brought with it the wind and the windows kept rattling all night which was very irritating. The two restaurants need to be more defined, the prices charged for one of the restaurants is fairly high end and there was no dress code and lights were not dimmed so didn’t have the atmosphere I was hoping for, the more informal restaurant had a much better feel, but the food was lovely

Service could be non existent at times in the bar.
Room small and no storage for clothing or fridge

Essen & Trinken sowie die Lage.
Sehr kleine Zimmer. Kein Platz einen Koffer zu öffnen. Bad Türe sehr schwergängig mit viel Geräuschaufwand verbunden. Duschtür schließt nicht richtig somit viel Wasser im Bad.

Perfect location on Royal Troon golf course, close to the sea. Comfortable, clean rooms.
The staff were friendly and helpful, but the service fell short of 5 star.

The welcome was great, the receptionist was very helpful, our room was upgraded, bar staff were very attentive, overall we enjoyed our stay but wouldn't rush back.
Although we were upgraded to a sea view room...it was at the very top of the hotel and you could only see the sea if you stood directly in front of the very small window, the bar had no Bacardi (or any other white rum) in the evening, the breakfast was pretty shambolic with a member of our party having to ask for food as all the dishes were empty. Food was brought but it was all very slow.

Location and ambience
We had to change rooms 3 times. 1st room had a strong smell of smoke and we expected a non smoking room.
2nd room had a strong smell of sewerage, which was obnoxious .

Location and staff excellennt.
Breakfast was disappointing, no bowls, no orange juice, no pastries, minimal cooked food. Seemed like too busy for what the kitchen/staff could manage..

Room was comfortable and well equipped. There was plenty of car parking available. The Fish and Chips served in the bar was very good. It's a pleasant walk into the town.
Breakfast service could have been better - I think that I was forgotten! the breakfast buffet was reasonable quality.

Reception staff very attentive. Beautiful surroundings.
Bar staff missing orders on a regular basis. Breakfast buffet a shambles with faulty toasters and mouldy bread. Had higher expectations for the cost of the hotel and have a lot to look at ahead of the Open next year.

The location and surroundings.
The bar drinks menu was poor. Not enough choice or better choice of beers on tap. The cocktails were very poor. The breakfast was not great either. The bacon was rock hard, scrambled egg was poor and cold, as were the tomatoes. I ordered room service for a cheese pizza, only to get a call saying the had none of the advertised pizzas available. I got one that was not on any menu that I saw & it was very poor, especially for the cost of it and tray charge. I also felt some of the bar staff ignored to give us table service and this was from senior members of the staff, it was the younger members who were excellent Hannah and I do not know the other boys name, they were a credit to the hotel.

Right at the beach, the room was massive.
That booking.com filters don't work properly as we booked for 2 adults and selected extra bed, which came up at first but never went through on the booking.
