Fabulous, friendly, beautifully decorated. Delicious breakfasts looking out over the ocean.

We loved the situation and proximity to the beach. A quick drive into town too.

Words cannot describe how wonderful our stay was at the Southern Cross Beach House: our warm and generous host Wendy gave us a very much appreciated upgrade upon arrival, room 6 is stunning, spacious and very private. The bed is very comfortable and the room is very clean. The house is ideally located with an easy boardwalk to the long sandy beach and view of the Robberg nature reserve and Tsisikama mountains. The excellent breakfast served on the terrace with the view of the mountains coocked by Wendy and her team was delicious. If you are lucky, one or both of the two resident dogs will grace you with their presence. We had a very special stay (thank you, Wendy, for great and funny conversations), and we certainly will be back.

Restful and comfortable a beautiful guest house!

Breakfast was made to order which was lovely! Also cinnamon pancakes made by Wendy were absolutely delicious! The view of the beach was just incredible and the access to it was amazing too. We felt very comfortable and really enjoyed playing with the owners two dogs Marley and Summer. It was great having the fridge stocked with soft drinks plus beer and wine ( honestly bar) and complimentary tea and coffee. Wendy the manager knows the area really well and can suggest many different restaurants and places to see.

Everything was wonderful so nothing negative to say at all😊

This B and B is wonderful, we have to come back ! The staff were so friendly, helpful , lovely dogs, situated in a perfect location overlooking the ocean, the owners have decorated it in a lovely, happy way. Brekky was delicious, wendy welcomed us with all the info we needed etc, so kind. Lovely pool to cool off in. There was nothing I could fault. Even going above and beyond the call with kindness and bin liners ! (Don’t ask). I really really hope to return to be able to sit and enjoy the B and B again.

Good location, but quite old.

The location is amazing, we simply loved it.

The hotel is underinvested and the room smells a bit from mold. It could be truly amazing if it had been kept in better shapeand was managed a bit better.

The Southern Cross Beach House is situated right above the beach with direct access. The view from the terrace is amazing and we loved the family athmosphere and the home made food for breakfast.

No hot water. Host forgot to switch geyser on but she did offer to move us to another room. Everything else was great though. Friendly staff, delicious breakfast, beautifully decorated room.

Great location, lovely house. The owner is lovely and very helpful.

The manager was officious and treated us like we were freeloaders in "her home" (which it wasn't, and we were paying a lot for the privilege). There is no heating.

Very disappointing stay that was very expensive...

The walkway to the beach

Unfortunately this stay was a terrible experience. The breakfast was very poor. Cold, raw pancakes was slapped onto our plates (whether one wanted pancakes or not); the muffins was served in an old dirty muffin pan; fruit in glasses that was overripe and already brown; no table cloth, no small plates, no knife to cut the big blocks of cheese... The warm breakfast was okay except the plate did not look appetising at all. Only filter coffee available, and just with breakfast. For a 4-star guesthouse you should have a Nespresso coffee machine or some machine that can make espresso coffee or cappuccino's. The bathroom was very old with old fittings. There was no water in the rooms and no vanity kit, no toilet spray, sand fleas in the kitchen at the sitting area. The old television was very small and did not work (also not suitable for the size of the room).

cleanliness. comfortable beds. excellent 5 star breakfasts . sea views . almost on the beach . security . sparkling pool and manicured gardens . lovely furnishings . coffee station and a honesty well stocked fridge . close to excellent small shopping centre where you can get all you need .

was there for a week and never met the live-in owner. room fan needs a clean

Phantastic atmosphere in white Victorian wooden mansion - great ocean view & breakfast

This is an historic, but perfectly maintained Victorian-Style wooden mansion. The interior is "original retro style" e.g. free standing cast-iron tub, but also separated cranes for hot and for cold water at the sink. These minor drawbacks in comfort are more than compensated by the terrific "all in white" victorian athmosphere of the Mansion and garden with Ocean view and direct beach access via the board walk. The manager - Wendy - is a super sympathetic person and the breakfast is just superb !!! (Best omlette ever : )
