Stylish house, good support from the staff in explaining the layout of the house

Very nicely furnished traditional house, comfortable furniture. Modern update to an old property. Good location and comes with onsite parking. Well equipped kitchenette.

There were no blackout blinds / curtains in the bedroom, light streams in before 5am. Easily solved with eye shades.

Not great value for money. Check carefully which room you are booking and make sure that you book for the correct number

Set in a lovely town, room was clean and comfortable, although very dark as lacked natural light.

It was very expensive I thought. The meal included was lovely, but the service was very slow and dinner took way too long.

Beautiful home to stay in, great location.

Nicest home/hotel we stayed in our entire trip to Japan. The stay gave us the best combination of being in an old traditional home updated with modern appliances and conveniences. The check-in lounge is less than a five minute walk from the train station, and the home we stayed in was a five minute walk from there. Breakfast was traditional Japanese and fantastic. Host was wonderful. Will stay here next time I visit Takayama.

The best hotel in Japan - modern and luxury

Amazingly clean, spacious room with private baths. Such a comfort and attention to detail !!! The staff is super attentive and helpful! Out of the 3 week stay in Japan it is by far the best hotel! Just feels very private, super luxury comfortable, only 5 min walk from train and bus station. Best of the best! Thanks to ladies who hosted us!

Amazing place you will love it!!

I loved everything; it looked exactly like the pictures, and the staff was beyond amazing. I found a spider, which may have come in when I opened the patio door. The spider was massive, and it was 3 am. I called for the staff to come and kill it. She came in the middle of the night to kill the spider for me, and I greatly appreciate that. The staff is beyond exceptional.

Everything was better than we could have imagined! Juri met us at the bus station and brought us to the house. It was charming, spotless, well located, and extremely unique and special. Wished we could have stayed longer!

We really enjoyed our stay there, good value and highly recommend.

Beautifully restored historic building with all the modern amenities. Very convenient location in the old town with picturesque walks. Chitose our concierge was really punctual, attentive and helpful. Helpful guidebooks in the accommodation helped guide us for a smooth and fulfilling experience in Takayama.

great stay!

our host Juri was so kind and helpful. we loved Takayama and really enjoyed the apartment. the sauna and bath were very enjoyable. the Japanese breakfast was also delicious.

the living space was a little tight for the 5 of us, but large by Japanese standards.

Cool experience in old Takayama

Charming old building, good location near a lot of places in Takayama

The bathroom is on the lower floor, away from the bedrooms with an old-fashioned (I.e. very steep wooden) staircase between them.

The staff was so friendly and helpful, spoke great English and the place was simply amazing!

The onsite bath was amazing, super big took about an hour to fill. Your very on onsen. I have been to many places and never had a private bath this big!

The property is incredible! my boyfriend and I were traveling around Japan for two weeks, and this Ryokan was the biggest highlight of our trip. The building is beautiful, the rooms are traditional and gorgeous, the Onsen is relaxing and magical, the meals were delicious and varied, it’s just all-around a once in a lifetime experience.

I can’t think of a single thing we didn’t like. We had a perfect stay!

The location was excellent - walking distance to all the sights. The house itself was traditional but with modern amenities. The outdoor bath was a huge highlight.

Seriously, best short-term rental experience ever. If you are staying in Takayama, stay here!

Staying at Iori Miyagawa was one of, if not the most, efficient processes I have ever witness staying at a short term rental. They exceeded my expectations and then some.

Literally nothing. I don't often given reviews, but this place was beyond perfect and deserved a review. Again, I could not find a single issue with this property. Absolutely amazing experience all around.

Great staff, great location and such a beautiful house . worth every penny

everything . there is nothing to gripe about. it was as per the photos. great space, tillers for everyone n great location near to old town n by the river . service staff was superb. she was so attentive and responsive to everything . we were late n my phone ran out of battery n was unable to contact her the usual way. I left msg on fb, email n called. she responded pretty fast as she was perhaps looking out for us . she speaks good English n also took the initiative and helped us booked all our restaurants for dinner. we really enjoyed our stay n hospitality of Iori. would definitely stay in any of their properties again

The host was very helpful. She goes the extra miles in arranging for transport for us and also helped us in making several restaurant reservations. The breakfast was delicious and the house is very clean. Good quality amenities.

The bathroom and Hinoki bath were a highlight! Also being able to choose a yukata to fully immerse yourself in the stay.
