Location faithful, convenient and agreeable with nearby store, whose especially cashier girl or supermarket is to be thanked for her caring friendliness
The food could been better

It was NOT a guest house but a student hostel. No ventilation and very suffocating. No security and no staff on duty. Some homeless people were crashing and sleeping in main area sofa every night. Last night some people opened our door without knocking and said sorry and went away. They were checking if rooms were empty so they can just free lodge and sleep there. Shared bathroom on floor which even people from outside can use.

the property is cheap. the family room is simple.
the photos definitely show the tidy and and well decorated space that isn’t anymore. it’s more of a backpackers spot. the communal toilets regularly smell. the doors easily slam shut which wakes you up regularly. public transport is needed to walk into town

Room is very close to downtown Reykjavik, easy to move around
Room is extremely small. 2 beds felt crammed in the small space.

very nice looking place and we were looking forward staying there...but no staff....no keys... we had to call booking on our honeymoon and absolute disaster!!
no staff available, could not calll them, booking got us another place but the one who we did see for like 5 minutes was rude and this ruined our honeymoon.

The location (close to the swimming pool) was good and not too far from the pick up points for the tours. The room and the bathrooms were clean. The shower was warm and very powerful. Internet was working very well. There was someone who cleaned the kitchen once a day as well. The Café, next door, was very cosy and friendly. The info given was useful and accurate.
A group of very young people was very noisy in the evening. The entrance was very icy and sleepery but when I informed the person in charge she got it sorted quickly.

the place was clean and okay
no staff or reception to be seen self check in told last minute. Told people in cafe will help but were completely rude and obnoxious, and clearly didn’t want to give people staying there a minute of their time. They wouldn’t help us call a taxi and when we were waiting for our taxi the lady from cafe walked into hostel and moved bags without even asking me while also giving me a rude look.

Location
Room is not spacious enough for 3 persons. Bad Smell coming out of common space and toilet.

Cafe and bar. Nice big space with great facilities
Tony room and double bed. too small.Too hot. Terrible pillows!!! Lumpy and not enough padding so had a terrible sleep. Also noisy doors whenever people came in late so kept getting disturbed.

We were off season so had the shared kitchen / bathroom almost for ourselves. The restaurant attached to the hostel and guesthouse serves good meal for very reasonable price. Good bakery and grocery store just across the street. Very convinient.
Room ridiculously small. Just the space for the double bed. 6 square meter room!

There is no reception and it is very complicated to get in touch with the staff.
There is little space in the rooms.
We booked the Guesthouse to have more privacy, but 4 of the 5 rooms were actually in the hostel. I believe this should be clarified in the booking procedure.

Location is easy to find and located in a quiet local residential area. Bus 12 or 14 are nearby if you want to go to the city centre, or walk along the coast line for 30 mins if the weather is good. The sunset is absolutely beautiful there and not as many people as at the sun voyager. A small supermarket is just across the road so a good place to pack some light food for your tours. Alternnatively, the environment and food at the Lækur cafe is also lovely and recommend to try the coffee at the end of your day.
The staffs are very friendly and they shared a lot of information about the local festivals and the the journey to the latest volcano eruptions. Check out is just simply leaving your key and that's all.
Lovely and clean interior which feels like home at the guesthouse. The bed is superrrrrr comfy and so soft that I can sleep well and instantly on it !!!! (perhaps got too tired after the tours, ha)
Definetly will book Lækur Guesthouse again if I come to iceland for second time! :D
Thank you and I really enjoyed my stay here!
The bus from city centre to the guesthouse is not very frequent at night so do keep an eye on the bus schedule, otherwise you will need to walk in the cold wind for 30 mins. (Not the problem of the guesthouse)

Location slightly out of town was great. Good to walk into Reykjavik and be in a residential area to.
Room was clean and the beds were very comfortable.
Kitchen was clean.
Toilets and showers were available when needed, bins needed emptying more often. No sanitary bins in the toilets.
We met some lovely people travelling and gained information on trips and advise, very friendly.
Family room was not big enough. The room shown on the website looked upgraded so it was disappointing.
Electricity went off during one evening, I sent an email which was answered but we ended up looking for the fuse box and flipping the switches several times as something was tripping the fuse.
No on site management? I'm not sure the café was attached as part of the hostel? Although you could walk through, sometimes the door was locked. I assumed from the website it was part of the hostel.
I think a lot more could be done with maybe a reception.
Sadly on our last evening one of the employees had an argument with her boyfriend outside the hostel which was not pleasant for our children to listen to....

The beds are comfortable, the facilities are nice enough for a less expensive hostel and the people who work in the cafe and hostel are really nice.
There are several family rooms but next to the family rooms is a seating area with chairs and a sofa which attracts drunk and inconsiderate guests to congregate and talk loudly late at night, preventing other guests from sleeping. There were also people sleeping on the floor and sofa of this seating area one night - I doubt they were paying guests. I would urge the owners to think about changing this area to be less enabling to such behaviour, maybe by removing the sofa and chairs. Some notices on the walls reminding people to be considerate and keep their voices down at night would be helpful too. For this reason, I would save up more money to pay for a hotel next time.

nice common area with all amenities and cute cafe downstairs. supermarket and bakery really close and convenient. 5 min from the city largest swimming pool
the room was quite small

Friendliness of the staff
The room was poorly ventilated through a tiny window

the location was good. the facility was clean.
I don’t feel like it was adequately advertised. it should be renamed Laekur hostel. there were families staying here and most everyone was fine but there was one night that there were two young guys who weee openly getting drunk. They did not respect the house rules at all and that just isn’t something I would want to have to deal with in another country.

The ice cream shop around the corner.
The terrible smell in the room, the mold on the shade, no curtains and blinds not enough to keep the perpetual sun out. The nice big table that I couldn't smoke only after two other smokers had left. The smoking area in the dingy little alley next to garbage cans
