It was nice to sit on the rooftop and enjoy the views. There was also some fun seating downstairs, and the self check in process was super convenient.
The private rooms are way overpriced for what they are. They are small and don’t even have their own bathrooms- you still use a communal bathroom down the hall. You also have to go outside and up multiple stairs to get to your room, which is really inconvenient if you have luggage.

Well-stocked kitchen. Balcony has decent view. Common areas are clean. Decent location but expect to walk 10-15 mins to the more livelier part of town.
The stair was a bit of a pain if you're staying on 3rd or 4th floor. The room we had (2 beds, private) was not very well lit with old furniture and rather dusty (doesn't look a lot like on photos). Air not very well ventilated in the room.

I specifically chose this hostel because it was within walking distance of my daughter's/grandchildren's location. So in that sense, the location was perfect for me. For someone coming as a tourist, the location MIGHT not be optimal. Also, it was very hot in September, so the AC in my room was a welcome respite at night. My daughter, living on the same block, had two power outages (which is still a chronic problem 6 years after Hurricane Maria) but the hostel seemed unaffected.
The mattress was not the most comfortable. The quietness was affected by roommates. Most nights that was okay, but staying in a hostel can be hit or miss.

Ok läge, trevlig personal, duschar mm rena. Effektiv AC.
Vi hade ett dubbelrum. Väldigt asketiskt inrett. Slitet.

Everything was Kool limited parking if u have a car.
No wake up call if u have phone issues my phn got wet and there was no other way to get a wake up call for my flight. They had alarm clocks but no batteries for them to work. Front desk chick seemed annoyed that I asked for some help. Computer on the second floor doesn't work so trying to find an alternative resource was also a fail. Do better for the next guests. These things need to be functional not just decor

The location was close to a nice area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean the beds were comfortable enough.
The photos of this place are a little out dated... The roof top had old dinghy cushions ( if any) and felt kinda like staying in an abandoned building. Based on previous hostel experiences while traveling, I expected it to maybe be cuter or more travel trendy, but it felt a bit sad here. That being said, it was completely sufficient to stay the night.

Location was great. Close to a 24/7 bar and eatery. Close to a pharmacy. 5 min walk to beach. I loved my room it was clean had cable and a nice size shower with perfect hot water. The property had many amenities if u needed such as umbrellas and balls for the beach.. the kitchen situation in my opinion is actually really cool. I could see the sea from my balcony so technically it's a sea view.
I was unaware that there are 2 properties. The pics online don't differentiate so I assumed I was going to have a stay with a pool and pool table. We are allowed to go down there and use the amenities and maybe next time I will. The terrace has moldy furniture so I couldn't indulge without maybe getting sick. And the grill should be cleaned so ppl can use it. Ants are to be expected and only in the kitchen. Also for some reason online it says the offer late check out. They do not. Check out is at 11 as with any stay.

bed is comfortable.
The problems started well before I arrived. they asked for a form to fill in with my credit card and they said that if it is not filled out they will cancel the reservation. The form link didn't work and they didn't answer my messages, I had to call booking to help me. when i filled out the form they deducted 50$ claiming to be a deposit that they would return to me when i left, it's been a month that I left and i haven't received the refund of that deposit. when I arrived I stayed outside like many people arriving because they didn't send me the door and room code and there's only reception from 8am to 12pm. the receptionists are volunteers and don't know how to give you information about the city, where to eat, what to do, they are there to get to know Puerto Rico and they don't help you at all. after 3 days that I was in the Hostel, I came back from a walk and my things weren't on my bed anymore, there was no one at the reception to find out what had happened, they leave a phone number but. never attend. After a long time I got a contact and they said that someone else arrived and they mistakenly sent my bed number and the cleaning lady took all my stuff and put it in a bag and left it at the reception. but there was nothing at the reception, so they said they would check the cameras and offered me to stay in a private room until the end of the stay. But after two days they said I had to go back to the shared room because they had booked the private room I was in. the whole week went by and they didn't say what had happened to my things and the day before I left, they informed me that "they had mistakenly thrown my things in the trash". they wouldn't let me see the cameras and they didn't want to pay for everything I missed. I was refunded half of my stay.

Much different than we expected from a Hostel. We had our own room and private bath for which I paid more but it was a nice place to stay. Very efficiently designed and quite comfortable. We were right next to the kitchen / outdoor patio which had both good and bad points. Room was clean. Felt very secure at this property. We parked our rental car on the street and experienced no issues. Beach was close. Located in a neighborhood with busses available to get around San Juan without being in the middle of San Juan. The property itself has all kinds of things that travelers might need - sun lotion, etc. I would definitely return here to stay again.
Be prepared for the stairs. Our room was on the 3rd floor and one must go thru the lobby, thru a door, down some steps and then up 3 flights of steps. Being older travelers this was a bit of a challenge.

The customer service was amazing
the showers… it was or too hot or cold

The location was near the beach. It was clean. Staff were available through text message but rarely at the front desk.
I originally booked a solo room, but the made a mistake in my reservation and put me in a dorm room for the first 2 nights of my 5 day stay. There is a price different. They said the would refund me in 4 to 5 days but I never received the money. It feels a bit like a scam because I contacted them when I noticed I was never refunded and they never replied back.

My first time staying here, it was a last minute plan. I was looking for a one night stay, so happy to stay at this location, enjoyed the rain, sunset and mornings on my private room at the rooftop. Lots of plants everywhere a plus for me. Great location, good rest and stores on a short walk. Mostly love to walk to the beach with my lemonade I bought at Herbalife kiosk. Looking forward to come again.
I stayed at the calle Loiza location, for me it would’ve be better the area of the rooftop it looked a bit left behind. I talked to one of the employees and hopefully soon there will be some remodeling 🙂

Tidy location, 24 hour access. Always someone you can contact at all hours. Laundry on site, shared kitchen and multiple living spaces. Quick access to bus lines, airport, beach.
No blanket or towel given when arrived, had to ask for that. Super quick when I let them know. Bright light shining in the window at night,

This was perfect for a one night stay for me as my original flight was canceled and I had to cancel my other hotel room. The taxi found it easy and it was just a 20 min walk from my next booking.
The checkin was different than usual; it was all via phone and text and no one was at the property. I was on a flight so I received multiple messages in flight that I could not access regarding the stay and instructions. Upon arrival I spoke with someone via a Ring doorbell and someone explained the door codes. My enter code never worked. I was buzzed in on my initial arrival; however upon returning from eating later in the night I tried the code several times without success. Luckily someone was in the common area and let me in. I waited at the reception but no one came. I finally realized I had instructions on my phone of where to go. I understand that my booking was last minute, and while I can look back and see that they were clear, I guess it might be helpful to send an immediate email once someone books to give them a heads up on the process for arrival.

Pretty well located, rebuilt and the staff was very nice and friendly.
The price... Almost $50 for a bed in a room with 10 people... is too much.

Friendly staff, excellent location
The little noise of the bed, when you move at night

The hostel was very clean and the design of the common areas very nice. I would suggest this hostel to people that want a very quite experience.
The mattress was quite thin and uncomfortable. Despite its beautiful and party-ready common areas, they were always empty (e.g. no people or music ever in the rooftop). The fact that there was no staff around (it's a self check-in hostel) also didn't contribute to the general atmosphere.
Finally, the closest beach is quite small so I ended up going all the time to others around the city.
Overall it was fine, but I don't think it's worth the money, being one of the most expensive hostels in San Juan. If I had to go back to Puerto Rico I would opt for a hostel closer to the nightlife (the beaches are never too far anyways!).

Location is great, found parking, helpful staff. Kitchen good, 2 big fridge at 3rd floor but someone stole some of my food.
Well, I told some staff about my bedroom floor had big crack, I tripped on it. Bldg. is old so I understand. It was hard for me going up & down stairs bc of injured knee but receptionist helped me with the luggage.
