The family dog is also welcome to join you for an additional nightly fee.
Whether you spend your days hiking, fishing, or whale-watching, you'll find a washer/dryer in the bathroom to help refresh your wardrobe. WiFi is also provided to help you post photos of your family adventures.

Overall the place was alright. Unfortunately, the listing doesnt describe how damp and musty the house is. There is a dehumidifier which i emptied at least twice a day and we kept windows open to try and ventilate it. I really hope the homeowner can address this issue or at least put it in the description. It could be a real problem if someone has allergies or asthma. I wont stay here again

What we liked: quiet and away from busy Bar Harbor, fully stocked kitchen with all necessary cooking supplies, Hodgdons restaurant just .6 miles away (a must!), fun Monopoly games, PlayStation, and a bunch of family movies.
What we didn’t like: smelled of pets, microwave didn’t work, smoke alarm batteries were dying and would not stop chirping, the drive to the sites we wanted to see in Acadia was longer than we liked after hiking all day.

The house looks small from the outside, but the open floor plan for living room, kitchen, and entrance made it feel just right. The accommodations were nice except we could only find 2 kitchen towels and no big trash bags. There is an IGA grocery store less than 15 minutes awsy which is handy. We loved going to the Seal Cove Automobile Museum just down the road a few miles on a rainy day and checking out the quiet side of the island. It was a great location for us. We loved exploring Acadia National Park. Our kids refused to sleep in the bunk bed because part of the ceiling was coming down there maybe from a leak at some point. The windows were tricky to open. The de-humidifier was a big help. There was dense fog during our stay, so without it, it would have been extremely muggy.

Nice little cottage. Finicky lock.

The house smelled moldy and musty - we had to air it out for a full day. Kitchen was very nice and well appointed. Living room furniture was a bit cheap and saggy - you would fall into the couch and it was hard to get out of. The bathroom was a little run down looking and needed a deeper cleaning - cobwebs in the corners and dead bugs on the ceiling. Beds were comfortable but not much room in the closet and no dresser. Outdoor lighting was inadequate- no light near the step and the light at the door was an LED that took a while to warm up and turn on - not helpful. Overall it was an okay and inexpensive place to stay for a few days.

The house was a great option. Plenty of space and all the necessary amenities. The advertising of the space was truthful and accurate. It was quiet and not in the hubbub of the Bar Harbor tourist area which was great.

Lucky Stone cottage was a perfect place for our family of 4 to stay to explore Acadia and Mt. Desert Island. It’s out of the fray of Bar Harbor, but still within very easy distance to most areas of the NP. We appreciated the games closet for the rainy day we had there!

Acadia
This was one of the cleanest and most organized places that we stayed at with vrbo. It was very comfortable to relax after our hikes on the mountain. It was quiet. The kitchen was well equipped to do some cooking which helped us keep the price of our vacation down. Love the area.

Enjoy the quiet side of life
We enjoyed our stay at Lucky Stone Cottage. Very clean, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds with bedding and plenty of towels. It's close enough to Bar Harbor to enjoy all the shops and eateries. Acadia National Park is a must. Simply amazing views. I would suggest room darkening shades for the main bedroom. The sun rises early in Seal Cove and although it's beautiful to take in it is also nice to sleep a little later when on vacation. We loved it here.

A quiet place away from the crowd
It’s located in a quiet neighborhood not too far from bar harbor. It has two bedrooms with only one bath. We have a group of 3 people and a dog. The wait for the bathroom is the only little issue we had. The property has everything you need. The small bedroom has some smell which can be resolved by opening the window once a while. Overall we had a good stay there. Thank you for letting us stay there.

It’s fairly quiet on this side of the island. Despite being near a road where cars typically travel faster than the 35 mph SL it’s not really loud. Traffic is light and non existent at night. Expect noise typical of rural residential settings. There was the gentle coping of chickens out back and some log splitting a couple of properties down one afternoon we were there. The rooms are darker than pictured. It’s advertised as having a wood stove but the stove had a chain preventing use. It’s advertised as having hardwood floors but it looked more like vinyl engineered flooring. We don’t like wood smoke and don’t care what the floor is made out of so long as it’s in good repair and clean and it was. Still the ad shouldn’t suggest things that aren’t true. It’s advertised as being professionally cleaned. I had to clean the shower curtain because it was slimy. It took about 15 minutes to get it usable the first day then in spent a little more time on it a second day. There was a trash in the bin making the house smell when we arrived. Once we found the source and tossed it out the smell went away. I called Vacasa about those two issues but no response or credit on the cleaning fee was given by Vacasa or the property owner. The master bedroom smells like BO when the heat is on. I think the baseboard needs to be cleaned. The mattress on the bottom bunk of the kids room is worn out and therefore hard and uncomfortable. The toaster oven burns your toast. I give the place an ok rating because it was basically clean (except the shower) and had what we needed. For the money, compared to other it might be typical. I don’t know what the owner feeds cover. They are in addition to the Vacasa service fee and the cleaning fee. I’ve never understood the owner fee on vacation rentals. Further explanation is desired.

Decent but distant
The house itself met our needs just fine, especially the game consoles our son found in the second bedroom, but we will choose a different location for our next stay. The road noise, coupled with the visiting chickens from a (very) nearby neighbor, made the yard unusable and the 30 minute drive to most of the island's attraction meant we spent a lot of time in the car.

Great stay for the off-season
We just got back from a 3 day trip as a part of April vacation. It was the best home/apartment rental I've done and my kids much preferred it to a hotel. We made some great memories at Acadia and this home was a great respite at the end of the day.

1st time visit & happy experience
This was our first experience renting for a vacation. We were happy with the property. The location felt a bit out of the way at times which would’ve been ok if we’d planned a bit better for food etc. We took advantage of the quieter & less trafficked hikes on that side of the island which was wonderful.

Well supplied, organized, toys for the kids.
This was a wonderful home-away-from-home for our families. Mount Desert Island and Acadia have so much meaning for us and we were so happy to share with our children.
Your house was perfect! The boys loved all the toys. We appreciated your well supplied kitchen, amazing organization, and helpful notes.
Thank you for sharing your home--we hope to be back in the future. Cheers!

Clean, cozy, young child friendly.
This was the first vacation we have taken as a family of three generations. The house was so clean and cozy and my 18 month old loved finding toys to play with.
This town is amazing. We even got to see seals and fish on our boat excursions.
Thank you for everything.

Thank you for letting us stay in your home. We are a punk band called "Peeled Mike and the Crucifinas." We needed some time to relax and write our new album. Look for some of our songs on soundcloud--DebDub, Lady Lobsters, Click Clacking, Gilmore Peak, Acadia Fire and Sunset Tour, all inspired by our trip.
Hodgdon Seafood right down the street really emphasizes the phrase cold climate--cold people. Extremely unwelcoming and their food matched. We got our food to go because we felt unwanted.
The Good Luck Cottage might wanna invest in lobster crackers because we had to McGyver our way into our seafood dinner.
Acadia the park was amazing. We did 8 peaks in three days (Cadillac by car).
Gaylens was the best food we had.
Good Luck Cottage lived up to its name because I found $20 by the lighthouse. The luck ran out when our dog got skunked on the last night.
Over all the trip was great. Would come back again!
P.S. We saw three bald eagles.
Vacasa response: Thank you for the feedback! The lobster crackers are accessible with other kitchen utensils.
