This is an amazing property with all of the comforts of home and more. I only wish we were traveling with our adult children who would have loved the access to the water, the fire pit, bocce court, kayaks, and swing. What a view to wake up to each morning. Alex, checked in with us to ensure that our check in went well. The property was spotless. There were multiple places to enjoy the many books I brought. It is about a 25 minute drive to downtown. The master bedroom bed is extremely hard. For those who prefer a softer touch, perhaps a pillowtop covering would be essential to a comfortable sleep. The kitchen was well stocked which allowed for us making breakfast and packing picnic lunches each day. Having a Keurig was a great plus for my husband! The location allowed for us to explore a different side of the island than we are used to. We visited Bass Light (be prepared for a wait as the parking lot is tiny). We also had dinner one night at Archie's lobster (what a perfect casual spot for a great meal). Families will love it. We were close to the National Park service and Long pond where we rented a tandem kayak for the afternoon. (No need to leave the property though as there were plenty of kayaks and a canoe to use). We will miss the views and the sights (I saw a beautiful blue heron as I sat an read on the dock). We would definitely come back to this spot in the future. The three bedrooms and two baths would ensure a comfortable visit for our family members and/or friends.

We had a wonderful time for our first trip to Acadia. The house has everything you need and is located in an ideal location for those looking to escape the traffic to the quite side of the island. Yet also convenient to hiking, biking carriage trails, restaurants in SW Harbor as well as a short drive into Bar Harbor. Our host was respectful of our privacy and attentive to our needs. Can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is. Book it now!

This home and location for a visit to Acadia are simply perfect. The accessibility to Acadia and Bar Harbor were perfect for our family of 4. We loved the home and it's amenities so much we had a hard time leaving to explore the magnificence of Acadia and Bar Harbor. We spent hours on the dock swimming, relaxing and photographing. We loved the pond and tranquility of the locale. The home itself was immaculate and convinced us that we may make this an annual destination. The home was comfortable, clean, well appointed and simply perfect. There is nothing the home doesn't have. Thank you for allowing us to be guests in your beautiful compound.

We have visited MDI several times and this is by far the best rental we have ever had. The house had everything we needed. The lake views are wonderful and it was so nice to have a quiet and relaxing spot to come back to after a day of hiking. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time at this lakeside home on the quiet side of the island. It's great to wake each morning and either see the sun peeking up over Bernard Mountain or the mist settling over the pond. It's close enough to SW Harbor/Bass Harbor you can avoid the chaos of Bar Harbor! The house was modern, had plenty of space, and everything we needed. A couple of nights it got a little sticky from the heat but the windows have screens and there are fans for each bedroom. Great place and friendly, responsive owner.

We just got back from an amazing stay at Alex's gorgeous lakeside house. It was spotless, comfortable, and prefect for our family of four (though could have easily fit more people). I had everything we needed for the week. We spent so much time on the property fishing, kayaking, and relaxing in the backyard. Our kids must have caught 50 fish each over our stay and my husband caught a couple of large mouth bass. It was worried it was a bit far from Bar Harbor, but we went there several times and the ride was quick and easy. Everything we needed was within 20-25 mins. We can't wait to comeback next year.

We really enjoyed our stay here in June. The deck was the perfect spot to enjoy coffee on the cool mornings. We saw bald eagles and loons on the lake, and really enjoyed the kayaks. The house was the perfect size for our family; everyone had their own space. Having a washer and dryer really came in handy as well. We went to several restaurants the owner recommended and enjoyed them all. Overall we are leaving with some wonderful memories of Maine and Acadia. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!

This home is a gem! Gorgeous views of the lake with a perfect deck to enjoy it. Location is a nice distance from Bar Harbor, away from the crowds but close enough to enjoy popular attractions with a short car ride. The lovely house had plenty of space for our family.

This house on the lake was such a special place to stay. It made our vacation to Acadia so much nicer. We were on the lake kayaking every day. It is in such a beautiful setting with lake views on 2 sides and Acadia across the lake. The house was very specious, comfortable and well stocked. The owner was very friendly and responsive. I highly recommend this rental and we hope to get back again!

Wonderful site! Water views everywhere. Very comfortable home. We arrived in the middle of a storm and lost power but the generator kicked right in. The hosts have supplied almost everything one needs. Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about this host & the house. For starters the pictures don’t do this house justice, the house is amazing!! The house is very clean, spacious, quiet surroundings (we had the windows open 24/7 it was very peaceful), and literally has anything you could think to need (extra linens, fire wood, a bunch of kitchen accessories, even extra chargers, lots and lots of towels/sheets/pillows/blankets, even had multiple box fans to help as well). The host is phenomenal as well; super quick to answer, helped us with any questions about the area we had, along with giving us advice on places to check out and explore, just all around really nice people. We went during the fall, but i can only imagine how great this place would be in the summer months with the boats and swimming platform. Along with being so close to Acadia, yet remote enough to be in nature. It was just incredible, would love to stay here again. Great for our family of 3.
